Sòm 47

1 Pou chèf sanba yo. Se yon sòm pitit Kore yo. Nou tout pèp yo, bat bravo! Fè lwanj Seyè a! Rele ak kè kontan!

You people all [over the world], clap your hands for joy! Shout joyfully to [praise] God!

2 Paske, Seyè ki anwo nan syèl la, se moun ki pa nan jwèt, se moun pou nou pè. Se yon gwo wa k'ap gouvènen sou tout latè.

Yahweh, who is much greater than any other god, is awesome; he is the king who rules over all the world!

3 Li fè nou dominen sou anpil pèp, li mete anpil nasyon sou zòd nou.

He enabled us to defeat [the armies of] the people-groups [that lived in Canaan].

4 Se li ki chwazi peyi kote n'ap viv la pou nou. Peyi sa a se yon lwanj pou pitit Jakòb li renmen anpil yo.

He chose for us this land where we now live; we Israeli people [MTY], whom he loves, are proud that we own this land.

5 Bondye ap mache moute, tout pèp la ap rele, y'ap kònen klewon sitèlman yo kontan.

God has gone up [into his temple]. The people shouted joyfully and blew trumpets as Yahweh went up.

6 Chante pou Bondye, fè lwanj li! Wi, chante pou wa nou an, fè lwanj li!

Sing songs to praise our God! Sing to praise him [DOU]! Sing to God, our king!

7 Paske, se Bondye ki wa sou tout latè. Chante yon chante espesyal pou li!

God is the one who rules over everything in the world; sing a psalm to him!

8 Bondye dominen sou tout nasyon yo. Bondye chita sou fotèy ki apa pou li a.

God sits on his sacred throne as he rules over the people of [all] ethnic groups.

9 Chèf lòt peyi yo mete tèt yo ansanm ak pèp Bondye Abraram lan, paske se Bondye ki gen tout zam pou defann pèp yo. L'ap dominen sou tout bagay.

The rulers of those people-groups gather as God’s people, the people [descended] from Abraham, [do]. But God has more power than the weapons/shields [of all the kings] on the earth; (he is greatly honored/people honor him) everywhere.
