1 Se yon sòm David. Seyè, koute m' lè m'ap lapriyè. Panche zòrèy ou pou tande jan m'ap kriye nan pye ou. Reponn mwen, paske ou toujou kenbe pawòl ou. Ou pa nan patipri.
Yahweh, hear me while I pray to you! Because you are righteous and because you faithfully do what you have promised, listen to what I am pleading that you [do for me].
2 Pa jije m' sou sa m' fè, se sèvitè ou mwen ye. Pa gen moun ki inonsan devan je ou.
I am one who serves you; do not judge me, because you know that everyone has done things that are wrong).
3 Lènmi pousib mwen, li mache sou mwen. Li fè m' rete nan fènwa tankou moun ki mouri depi lontan.
[My] enemies have pursued me; they have completely defeated me. [It is as though] they have put me in a dark [prison], where I [have nothing good to] ([hope for/expect]), like those who died long ago [SIM].
4 Mwen santi mwen pa kapab ankò! Mwen boulvèse anpil.
So I am very discouraged; I am very dismayed/worried.
5 Mwen chonje tan lontan, m'ap kalkile tou sa ou te fè. Tou sa ou te fè yo vin nan tèt mwen ankò.
I remember what has happened previously: I (meditate on/think about) all the things that you have done; I consider [all] the [great] deeds that you [SYN] have performed.
6 Mwen louvri bra m' devan ou, mwen lapriyè. M'ap tann ou tankou tè sèk k'ap tann lapli.
I lift up my hands/arms to you while I pray; I [SYN] need you, like very dry ground [needs rain] [SIM].
7 Seyè, prese vin reponn mwen. Mwen pa kapab ankò! Pa vire do ban mwen. Si ou fè sa, m'ap tankou moun ki desann nan peyi kote mò yo ye a.
Yahweh, I am very discouraged, [so] please answer me right now! Do not hide from me, because if you do that, I will [soon] be [SIM] among those who descend to where the dead people are.
8 Mwen mete konfyans mwen nan ou. Depi granmaten, fè m' chonje jan ou renmen m' anpil. Se ou menm m'ap lapriyè. Moutre m' chemen pou m' pran an.
[Every] morning cause me to remember that you faithfully love [me], because I trust in you. I (pray/send my prayers up [IDM]) to you; show me what I should do.
9 Se anba zèl ou m'ap chache pwoteksyon. Tanpri, delivre m' anba lènmi m' yo.
Yahweh, I have gone/run to you to be protected, [so] rescue me from my enemies.
10 Se ou menm ki Bondye mwen. Moutre m' jan pou m' fè sa ou vle m' fè a. Jan ou gen bon kè, fè lespri ou mennen m' nan chemen ki pa gen move pa.
You are my God; teach me to do what you want me to do. I want your good Spirit to lead me on a path that is not difficult to walk on.
11 Seyè, poutèt non ou pote a, ban m' lavi ankò. Ou menm ki pa nan patipri, tanpri, wete m' nan tray kote m' ye a.
Yahweh, restore me when I am close to dying, as you promised to do. Because you are righteous/good, rescue me from my troubles/difficulties!
12 Ou renmen m' anpil. Fè tout lènmi m' yo disparèt. Detwi tout moun k'ap peze m' yo, paske se sèvitè ou mwen ye.
I am one who serves you; so because you faithfully love [me], kill my enemies and get rid of all those who (oppress/cause trouble for) me.
