< Sòm 102 >

1 Lapriyè yon moun ki anba tray. Li pa kapab sipòte ankò. L'ap rakonte Bondye ka li. Seyè, koute m' non lè m'ap lapriyè, se pou rèl mwen rive nan zòrèy ou.
Yahweh, listen to what I am praying; hear me while I cry out to you!
2 Pa vire do ban mwen lè mwen nan traka. Panche zòrèy ou bò kote m'. Prese vin reponn mwen lè m'ap rele ou.
Do not (turn away/hide yourself) from me when I (have troubles/am distressed)! Listen to me, and answer me quickly now, when I am calling out to you!
3 Lavi m' ap disparèt tankou lafimen. Mwen gen yon lafyèb nan zo.
My life is ending, like smoke that disappears [SIM]; I have [a high fever which] burns my body like a fire burns [SIM].
4 Mwen anba gwo kou. Mwen tankou zèb koupe k'ap cheche. Mwen sitèlman boulvèse, mwen pa menm chonje manje.
[I feel like] I am drying up like grass [SIM] that has been beaten/trampled down, and I no longer have a desire to eat food.
5 Mwen tounen zo ak po tèlman m'ap plenn.
I groan loudly, and my bones can be seen under my skin [because I have become very thin].
6 Mwen sanble yon tako savann, mwen tankou frize ki rete nan vye kay kraze.
I am like a [lonely and despised] vulture in the desert, like an owl by itself in the abandoned ruins [of a building/city].
7 Mwen pa ka dòmi, mwen tankou yon zwezo ki pou kont li sou yon do kay.
I lie awake [at night]; [because there is no one to comfort me], I am like a lonely bird [sitting] on a housetop [SIM].
8 Tout lajounen lènmi m' yo ap joure m'. Moun k'ap pase m' nan rizib yo pran non m' sèvi jouman.
All during the day my enemies insult me; those who make fun of me mention my name [and say, “May you be like him”] when they curse people.
9 Se sann dife ki tout manje m'. Dlo nan je m' fè yon sèl ak dlo m'ap bwè.
Because you are very angry [DOU] with me, now [I sit in] ashes [while I am suffering greatly]; and those ashes [fall on] the bread/food that I eat, and what I drink has my tears mixed with it. [It is as though] you have picked me up and thrown me away!
10 Ou sitèlman ankòlè, ou sitèlman fache, ou pran m', ou voye m' jete byen lwen.
11 Kò m' ap tchoule tankou solèy k'ap kouche. M'ap cheche tankou zèb.
My time to remain alive is like an evening shadow [that will soon be gone] [SIM]. I am withering like grass withers [in the hot sun].
12 Men ou menm, Seyè, w'ap gouvènen pou tout tan. Pitit an pitit y'ap chonje non ou!
But Yahweh, you are our king who rules [MTY] forever; people who are not yet born will remember you.
13 W'a leve, w'a gen pitye pou lavil Siyon an, paske li lè pou ou gen pitye pou li. Jou a rive.
You will arise and be merciful to [the people of] [MTY] Jerusalem; it is now time for you to do that; this is the time for you to be kind to them.
14 Moun k'ap sèvi ou yo renmen lavil Siyon an. Kè yo fè yo mal pou yo wè jan l'ap fini.
Even though (the city has been destroyed/our enemies have destroyed our city), we who serve you still love the stones that [were formerly] in the city walls; because now there is rubble everywhere, we, your people, are very sad when we see it.
15 Lè sa a, moun lòt nasyon yo va gen krentif pou Seyè a, tout wa ki sou latè va pè bèl pouvwa li.
Yahweh, [some day the people of other] nations will revere you [MTY]; all the kings on earth will see that you are very glorious/great.
16 Seyè a va rebati lavil Siyon, l'a fè wè jan li gen pouvwa.
You will rebuild Jerusalem, and you will appear there with your glory/brightness.
17 L'a pran ka moun ki san sekou yo lè y'a lapriyè, wi, li p'ap meprize lapriyè yo.
You will listen to the prayers of your people who are homeless, and you will (not ignore them/do what they request) [LIT] when they plead with you to help them.
18 Se pou yo ekri sa pou timoun k'ap vini yo ka konnen l', pou timoun ki poko fèt yo ka fè lwanj li.
Yahweh, [I want to] write these words in order that people in future years [will know what] you have done, in order that people who are not born yet will praise you.
19 Seyè a rete anwo nan kay ki apa pou li a, li gade anba, li rete anwo nan syèl la, l'ap gade sou latè,
They will know that you looked down from your holy/sacred place in heaven [DOU] and saw [what was happening on] the earth.
20 pou l' tande jan prizonye yo ap plenn, pou l' delivre moun yo kondannen amò yo.
They will know that you hear prisoners groaning and that you will set free those who have been told, “You will be executed.”
21 Konsa, moun va nonmen non Seyè a nan tout lavil Siyon an. Y'a fè lwanj li nan lavil Jerizalèm,
As a result, people in Jerusalem will praise you [DOU] for what you [have done]
22 lè tout nasyon yo ak tout gouvènman ki sou latè yo va sanble pou sèvi Seyè a.
when many people [from other people-groups] and [those who are citizens of other] kingdoms gather to worship you.
23 Mwen te jenn gason toujou lè Seyè a kraze kouraj mwen: li koupe sou lavi m'.
[But now] you have caused me to become weak while I am still young; [I think that] I will (not live much longer/ very long/soon die).
24 Mwen di: Bondye mwen, ou menm k'ap viv pou tout tan, pa pran m' koulye a. Mwen jenn gason toujou.
I say to you, “My God, do not cause me to die now, before I become old! You live forever!
25 Se ou menm, Seyè, ki te kreye latè nan tan lontan. Se avèk men ou ou te fè syèl la.
You created the world long ago, and you made (the heavens/everything in the sky) with your own hands.
26 Yo gen pou yo disparèt, men ou menm w'ap toujou la. Yo gen pou yo vin vye tankou rad. W'ap chanje yo tankou yo chanje rad, w'a mete yo sou kote.
The earth and the heavens/sky will disappear, but you will remain. They will wear out like clothes wear out. You will get rid of them like [people get rid of] old clothes, and they will no longer exist,
27 Men ou menm, ou p'ap janm chanje, ou p'ap janm mouri.
but you are [not like the things that you created], [because you are] always the same; you never die.
28 Pitit sèvitè ou yo va rete nan peyi a san danje. Pitit pitit yo va toujou viv devan je ou.
[Some day] our children will live safely [in Jerusalem], and their descendants will be protected in your presence.”
