< Jòb 18 >
1 Bildad, moun peyi Chwa a, pran lapawòl, li di konsa:
Then Baldad the Sauchite answered and said,
2 -Jòb monchè, ou pa ka pe bouch ou yon ti kadè? Si ou te fè yon ti sispann, nou ta pale avè ou!
How long will you continue? forbear, that we also may speak.
3 Poukisa ou pran nou pou moun san konprann? Poukisa ou pran nou pou zannimo?
For therefore have we been silent before you like brutes?
4 Si ou ankòlè, se pwòp tèt ou ase w'ap fè mal. Atò, poutèt ou, se pou tout moun sou latè te mouri? Se pou Bondye te deplase mòn yo pou fè ou plezi?
Anger has possessed you: for what if you should die; would [the earth] under heaven be desolate? or shall the mountains be overthrown from their foundations?
5 Wi, y'ap touye limyè mechan an, flanm dife l' la p'ap klere ankò.
But the light of the ungodly shall be quenched, and their flame shall not go up.
6 Lanp lakay li ap mouri, limyè lakay li ap tenyen.
His light [shall be] darkness in [his] habitation, and his lamp shall be put out with him.
7 Li te konn mache byen enganm, koulye a se ti pa ti pa, l'ap bite. Se plan li t'ap fè yo ki lakòz sa rive l'.
Let the meanest of men spoil his goods, and let his counsel deceive [him].
8 Li pile yon pèlen, pye l' pran ladan l'.
His foot also has been caught in a snare, [and] let it be entangled in a net.
9 Kòd la mare nan je pye l', l'ap sere l' byen sere.
And let snares come upon him: he shall strengthen those that thirst for his destruction.
10 Yo kache yon chita tann pou li anba tè. Yo moute yon pèlen sou wout li.
His snare is hid in the earth, and that which shall take him is by the path.
11 Kote l' vire, malè ap tann li. Kote l' pase, yo la dèyè l'.
Let pains destroy him round about, and let many [enemies] come about him,
12 Grangou nan kò l' fini ak kouraj li. Malè kanpe la bò kote l' ap tann li.
[vex him] with distressing hunger: and a signal destruction has been prepared for him.
13 Yon sèl maladi po pete sou tout kò l'. L'ap manje tout janm li ak tout bra li yo. Se tè ki pou geri l'.
Let the soles of his feet be devoured: and death shall consume his beauty.
14 Yo rale l' mete deyò anba tant kote li te al kache a. Yo trennen l' devan jeneral Lanmò.
And let health be utterly banished from his tabernacle, and let distress seize upon him with a charge from the king.
15 Koulye a, nenpòt moun gen dwa pran kay li a pou yo. Y'ap dezenfèkte l' nèt ak souf.
It shall dwell in his tabernacle in his night: his excellency shall be sown with brimstone.
16 Anba tè, rasin li yo ap mouri. Anwo tè, branch li yo ap fennen.
His roots shall be dried up from beneath, and his crop shall fall away from above.
17 p'ap gen pesonn k'ap chonje l' ankò sou latè. Y'ap bliye l' nèt nan tout peyi a.
Let his memorial perish out of the earth, and his name shall be publicly cast out.
18 Y'ap pouse l' soti nan limyè ale nan fènwa. Y'ap depòte l' byen lwen nan peyi san chapo.
Let [one] drive him from light into darkness.
19 Li p'ap kite ni pitit, ni ankenn lòt fanmi nan mitan pèp la. Yo tout ap mouri anvan l'.
He shall not be known among his people, nor his house preserved on the earth.
20 Depi solèy leve jouk solèy kouche, tout moun pral sezi wè jan li fini.
But strangers shall dwell in his possessions: the last groaned for him, and wonder seized the first.
21 Wi, men sa k'ap tann lakou moun k'ap fè mechanste yo, fanmi moun ki pa respekte Bondye yo.
These are the houses of the unrighteous, and this is the place of them that know not the Lord.
