< Jòb 12 >
1 Jòb pran lapawòl, li di:
And Job answereth and saith: —
2 -Apa nou k'ap pale pou pèp la! Mouri nou mouri, bon konprann kaba!
Truly — ye [are] the people, And with you doth wisdom die.
3 Men, mwen menm tou, mwen gen lespri menm jan avè nou. Mwen pa pi mal pase nou. Sa nou sot di la a, tout moun konnen l'.
I also have a heart like you, I am not fallen more than you, And with whom is there not like these?
4 Koulye a, menm zanmi m' ap pase m' nan rizib. Y'ap ri m', mwen menm yon moun Bondye pa gen anyen pou l' repwoche, yon moun Bondye te konn reponn lè m' rele l'.
A laughter to his friend I am: 'He calleth to God, and He answereth him,' A laughter [is] the perfect righteous one.
5 Se konsa, moun ki pa nan pwoblèm meprize moun ki nan lafliksyon. Yo wè yon moun k'ap tonbe, yo ba l' bourad fè l' tonbe pi vit.
A torch — despised in the thoughts of the secure Is prepared for those sliding with the feet.
6 Piyajè yo byen trankil lakay yo. Moun k'ap fè Bondye fache yo ap viv alèz. Bondye yo se fòs ponyèt yo.
At peace are the tents of spoilers, And those provoking God have confidence, He into whose hand God hath brought.
7 Manyè fè ti koze ak zannimo yo, ak zwezo yo. Yo gen anpil bagay pou yo moutre nou.
And yet, ask, I pray thee, [One of] the beasts, and it doth shew thee, And a fowl of the heavens, And it doth declare to thee.
8 Bèt k'ap trennen sou vant va ban nou leson, pwason nan lanmè va di nou sa yo konnen.
Or talk to the earth, and it sheweth thee, And fishes of the sea recount to thee:
9 Pa gen yonn ladan yo ki pa konnen se Bondye ki fè tout bagay ak men li.
'Who hath not known in all these, That the hand of Jehovah hath done this?
10 Bondye gen nanm tout sa ki vivan nan men li. Wi, lavi tout moun nan men li.
In whose hand [is] the breath of every living thing, And the spirit of all flesh of man.'
11 Bèl pawòl fè plezi zòrèy menm jan bon manje gou nan bouch.
Doth not the ear try words? And the palate taste food for itself?
12 Yo di se vye granmoun ki gen konesans, se laj ki bay bon konprann.
With the very aged [is] wisdom, And [with] length of days understanding.
13 Men, Bondye gen konesans, lèfini li gen pouvwa. Li gen bon konprann, lèfini li fè sa li vle.
With Him [are] wisdom and might, To him [are] counsel and understanding.
14 Lè Bondye kraze yon bagay, pesonn pa ka refè l'. Lè li mete yon moun nan prizon, pesonn pa ka lage l'.
Lo, He breaketh down, and it is not built up, He shutteth against a man, And it is not opened.
15 Lè li pa bay lapli, sèk tonbe sou latè. Lè li bay lapli, dlo fè dega toupatou.
Lo, He keepeth in the waters, and they are dried up, And he sendeth them forth, And they overturn the land.
16 Bondye gen fòs, li konn sa l'ap fè. Ni moun k'ap bay manti, ni moun k'ap pran manti, se anba ponyèt li yo ye.
With Him [are] strength and wisdom, His the deceived and deceiver.
17 Li fè moun k'ap bay konsèy yo pèdi tèt yo. Li fè chèf yo aji tankou moun fou.
Causing counsellors to go away a spoil, And judges He maketh foolish.
18 Li wete tout pouvwa nan men wa yo. Li mare yon tanga nan ren yo jete yo nan prizon.
The bands of kings He hath opened, And He bindeth a girdle on their loins.
19 Li fè prèt yo mache pye atè. Li mete gwo zotobre atè!
Causing ministers to go away a spoil And strong ones He overthroweth.
20 Li fèmen bouch moun k'ap bay bon konsèy. Li fè granmoun yo depale.
Turning aside the lip of the stedfast, And the reason of the aged He taketh away.
21 Li fè pase grannèg yo nan betiz. Li wete pouvwa gwo chèf yo nan men yo.
Pouring contempt upon princes, And the girdle of the mighty He made feeble.
22 Li klere twou fon kote ki fè nwa a, li mete twou lanmò a aklè.
Removing deep things out of darkness, And He bringeth out to light death-shade.
23 Li fè nasyon yo fè pwogrè, lèfini, li fè yo deperi. Li fè yon pèp pran elan, lèfini, li fè l' disparèt.
Magnifying the nations, and He destroyeth them, Spreading out the nations, and He quieteth them.
24 Li fè chèf pèp yo pèdi tèt yo, li fè yo moute desann nan dezè, san yo pa konn kote yo prale.
Turning aside the heart Of the heads of the people of the land, And he causeth them to wander In vacancy — no way!
25 Y'ap tatonnen nan fènwa, y'ap titibe tankou moun sou.
They feel darkness, and not light, He causeth them to wander as a drunkard.
