< Jeremi 50 >
1 Men mesaj Seyè a te mete nan bouch pwofèt Jeremi sou lavil Babilòn ak sou tout moun peyi a:
The word that the LORD spoke concerning Babylon, concerning the land of the Chaldeans, by Jeremiah the prophet.
2 -Bay tout nasyon yo nouvèl la. Fè yo konnen l'. Bay siyal la, fè nouvèl la mache. Pa kenbe nouvèl la kache. Di yo: Yo pran lavil Babilòn, yo fè bondye Babilòn lan wont. Yo fini ak Madouk. Tout zidòl li yo wont. Yo kraze tout vye bagay sa yo.
"Declare among the nations and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and do not conceal: say, 'Babylon is taken, Bel is disappointed, Marduk is dismayed; her images are disappointed, her idols are dismayed.
3 Paske yon nasyon ap soti nan nò, l'ap mache pran peyi a, l'ap fè l' tounen yon dezè. p'ap gen pesonn ladan l'. Bèt kou moun ap kouri met deyò.
For out of the north there comes up a nation against her, which shall make her land desolate, and none shall dwell in it: they are fled, they are gone, both man and animal.
4 Men sa Seyè a di ankò: -Jou sa yo, lè sa a, moun peyi Izrayèl yo ak moun peyi Jida yo ap vini ansanm. Y'ap mache, y'ap kriye, y'ap chache Seyè a, Bondye yo a.
In those days, and in that time,' says the LORD, 'the children of Israel shall come, they and the people of Judah together; they shall go on their way weeping, and shall seek the LORD their God.
5 Y'ap mande chemen pou y' al mòn Siyon, y'ap pran chemen an ale. Yo pral siyen yon kontra ak Seyè a, yon kontra k'ap la pou tout tan, yon kontra yo p'ap janm bliye.
They shall inquire concerning Zion with their faces turned toward it. They will come and join themselves to the LORD in an everlasting covenant that shall not be forgotten.
6 Pèp mwen an te tankou mouton ki pèdi bann yo. Se gadò yo ki te lage yo, kifè yo gaye nan mòn yo. Y'ap mache pwonmennen nan tout mòn yo. Yo pèdi chemen kay yo.
My people have been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray; they have turned them away on the mountains; they have gone from mountain to hill; they have forgotten their resting place.
All who found them have devoured them; and their adversaries said, "We are not guilty, because they have sinned against the LORD, the habitation of righteousness, even the LORD, the hope of their fathers."
8 Nou menm pèp Izrayèl la, kouri kite lavil Babilòn! Mete deyò nan peyi moun Kalde yo! Se nou menm ki pou pati an premye kite peyi a.
Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and go forth out of the land of the Chaldeans, and be as the male goats before the flocks.
9 Mwen pral leve yon bann gwo nasyon bò nan nò, mwen pral fè yo mache pran lavil Babilòn. Yo pral pran pozisyon pou yo goumen avè l', yo pral kraze l'.
For, look, I will stir up and cause to come up against Babylon a company of great nations from the north country; and they shall set themselves in array against her; from there she shall be taken. Their arrows shall be like a skilled warrior who does not return empty-handed.
10 Y'ap piye lavil Babilòn. Wi, tout moun k'ap piye l' yo ap pran pot ale jouk yo pa konn kote pou yo mete ankò. Se mwen menm Seyè a ki di sa.
Chaldea shall be a prey: all who prey on her shall be satisfied,' says the LORD.'
11 Seyè a di ankò: -Nou menm moun lavil Babilòn ki t' al piye pèp ki rele m' pa m' lan, nou te kontan, nou t'ap fè fèt, nou t'ap sote ponpe tankou ti gazèl lage nan savann, nou t'ap ranni tankou jenn poulen.
Because you are glad, because you rejoice, O you who plunder my heritage, because you are wanton as a heifer that treads out the grain, and neigh as strong horses;
12 Men, peyi nou an, lavil kote nou moun lan, pral wont. Yo pral trennen yo nan labou. Nan tout nasyon yo, Babilòn pral dèyè nèt. L'ap tounen yon dezè, san dlo, san yon pyebwa.
your mother shall be utterly disappointed; she who bore you shall be confounded: look, she shall be the least of the nations, a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert.
13 Paske Seyè a pral move sou li. p'ap gen pesonn rete nan lavil Babilòn lan. Tout kay li yo ap tounen mazi. Tout moun k'ap pase bò la pral sezi, y'a mete men nan tèt lè y'a wè tout sa ki rive l'.
Because of the wrath of the LORD she shall not be inhabited, but she shall be wholly desolate: everyone who goes by Babylon shall be astonished, and hiss at all her plagues.
14 Nou menm ki sèvi ak banza, ranje kò nou, sènen lavil Babilòn. Tire sou li! Voye tout flèch nou yo sou li, paske li fè peche kont Seyè a.
"Set yourselves in array against Babylon all around, all you who bend the bow; shoot at her, spare no arrows: for she has sinned against the LORD.
15 Nou tout ki sènen l' yo, rele byen fò, mache pran li! Lavil Babilòn rann tèt li. Miray li yo tonbe, gwo poto l' yo atè. Se konsa m'ap tire revanj mwen. Tire revanj nou sou li. Fè l' pase sa li te fè nou pase a.
Shout against her all around: she has submitted herself; her towers are fallen, her walls are thrown down; for it is the vengeance of the LORD: take vengeance on her; as she has done, do to her.
16 Pa kite pesonn pou plante jaden! Pa kite pesonn pou ranmase lè sezon rekòt rive! Lè lagè a va pete, tout moun lòt nasyon yo va chache chemen pa yo, y'a kouri met deyò al lakay yo.
Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him who handles the sickle in the time of harvest: for fear of the oppressing sword they shall turn everyone to his people, and they shall flee everyone to his own land."'
'Israel is a hunted sheep; the lions have driven him away: first, the king of Assyria devoured him; and now at last Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has broken his bones.
18 Se poutèt sa, men sa mwen menm, Seyè ki gen tout pouvwa a, Bondye pèp Izrayèl la, men sa mwen di: Mwen pral regle wa Babilòn lan ansanm ak tout peyi li a, menm jan mwen te regle wa peyi Lasiri a.
Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: "Look, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have punished the king of Assyria.
I will bring Israel again to his pasture, and he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan, and his soul shall be satisfied on the hills of Ephraim and in Gilead.
20 Jou sa yo, lè sa a, yo p'ap jwenn yon peche pou mete sou kont moun Izrayèl yo, ni yon mechanste pou mete sou kont moun Jida yo, paske m'ap padonnen tout moun m'a kite chape anba lanmò. Se mwen menm Seyè a ki di sa.
In those days, and in that time, says the LORD, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I leave as a remnant."'"
21 Seyè a di ankò: -Mache pran peyi moun Mira-Tayim yo! Atake moun peyi Pekòd yo! Touye yo tout, fini ak yo nèt! Se pou nou fè tou sa mwen menm mwen ban nou lòd fè a!
"Go up against the land of Merathaim, even against it, and against the inhabitants of Pekod: kill and utterly destroy after them," says the LORD, "and do according to all that I have commanded you.
22 Nan tout peyi a, se lagè k'ap fèt! Se kraze brize nèt ale!
A sound of battle is in the land, and of great destruction.
23 Lavil Babilòn te tankou yon gwo mato ki t'ap kraze tout moun sou latè. Koulye a, mato a chape, li tonbe, li kraze. Yo fini ak Babilòn. Yo fè l' tounen yon dezè san moun ladan l' nan mitan tout nasyon yo!
How is the hammer of the whole earth cut apart and broken. How is Babylon become a desolation among the nations.
24 Babilòn! Mwen te pare yon pèlen pou ou! Ou tonbe ladan l' san ou pa konnen! Yo jwenn ou, yo mete men sou ou, paske ou te soti pou goumen avè m'.
I have laid a snare for you, and you are also taken, Babylon, and you weren't aware: you are found, and also caught, because you have striven against the LORD.
25 Seyè a louvri depo zam li yo. Li fè kòlè, li mete yo deyò, paske mwen menm, Seyè ki gen tout pouvwa a, Bondye sèl Mèt la, mwen gen yon travay pou m' fè ak moun Babilòn yo.
The LORD has opened his armory, and has brought forth the weapons of his indignation; for the Lord, the LORD of hosts, has a work to do in the land of the Chaldeans.
26 Soti toupatou sou latè, vin atake l'!
Come against her from the utmost border; open her storehouses; cast her up as heaps, and destroy her utterly; let nothing of her be left.
27 Touye tout sòlda li yo tankou bèf nan labatwa! Madichon pou moun Babilòn yo! Jòdi a, lè chatiman yo a rive!
Kill all her bulls; let them go down to the slaughter. Woe to them, their day has come, the time of their visitation."
28 Koute! Moun k'ap kouri chape kò yo, moun k'ap kouri kite lavil Babilòn lan, ap moute sou mòn Siyon, y'ap fè konnen jan Seyè a, Bondye nou an, ap tire revanj li pou sa moun Babilòn yo fè tanp li a.
The voice of those who flee and escape out of the land of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of the LORD our God, the vengeance of his temple.
"Call together the archers against Babylon, all those who bend the bow; camp against her all around; let none of it escape: recompense her according to her work; according to all that she has done, do to her; for she has been proud against the LORD, against the Holy One of Israel.
Therefore her young men will fall in her streets, and all her men of war will be brought to silence in that day," says the LORD.
"Look, I am against you, you proud one," says the LORD of hosts; for your day has come, the time that I will visit you.
32 Peyi moun awogan sa yo pral tonbe. Pesonn p'ap ka fè l' kanpe ankò. M'ap mete dife nan tout lavil yo. Tout bagay alawonn pral boule.
The proud one shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up; and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour all who are around him."
33 Wi, men sa Seyè a di ankò: Y'ap peze moun peyi Izrayèl yo ansanm ak moun peyi Jida yo.
Thus says the LORD of hosts: "The children of Israel and the people of Judah are oppressed together; and all who took them captive hold them fast; they refuse to let them go.
34 Men, moun k'ap vin delivre yo a fò tou! Se Seyè ki gen tout pouvwa a. Se konsa li rele. L'ap pran defans yo, l'ap fè tout lòt nasyon yo viv ak kè poze, men l'ap bay moun lavil Babilòn yo kè sote.
Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is his name: he will thoroughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the earth, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.
35 Men sa Seyè a di ankò: -Lanmò pou lavil Babilòn! Lanmò pou tout moun ki rete ladan l'! Lanmò pou chèf li yo, pou moun save l' yo!
A sword is on the Chaldeans," says the LORD, "and on the inhabitants of Babylon, and on her officials, and on her wise men.
36 Lanmò pou divinò li yo! Se yon bann egare yo ye. Lanmò pou sòlda li yo! Y'ap tranble, yo pa konn sa pou yo fè.
A sword is on the boasters, and they shall become fools; a sword is on her mighty men, and they shall be dismayed.
37 Lanmò pou chwal li yo! Kraze tout cha lagè li yo. Lanmò pou tout moun lòt nasyon k'ap fè djòb sòlda lakay yo! Se pou yo vin tankou fanm. Disparèt tout richès li yo. Piye tout byen li yo.
A sword is on their horses, and on their chariots, and on all the mixed people who are in the midst of her; and they shall become as women: a sword is on her treasures, and they shall be robbed.
38 Chechrès nan tout peyi a. Se pou tout dlo rivyè yo cheche. Babilòn se yon peyi zidòl, k'ap fè moun pèdi tèt yo.
A drought is on her waters, and they shall be dried up; for it is a land of engraved images, and they glory over idols.
Therefore the wild animals of the desert with the wolves shall dwell there, and the ostriches shall dwell in it: and it shall be no more inhabited forever; neither shall it be lived in from generation to generation.
40 Sa pral tankou gwo malè Bondye te voye sou lavil Sodòm ak lavil Gomò, malè ki te detwi yo ansanm ak tout ti bouk nan vwazinaj yo. Pesonn p'ap rete la, p'ap gen yon moun nan peyi a ankò. Se mwen menm Seyè a wi ki di sa.
As when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbor cities of it," says the LORD, "so shall no man dwell there, neither shall any son of man live in it."
41 Moun ap soti nan yon peyi bò nan nò. Yon gwo pèp ak anpil chèf vanyan soti byen lwen, y'ap pare pou fè lagè.
"Look, a people comes from the north; and a great nation and many kings shall be stirred up from the uttermost parts of the earth.
42 Yo pran banza ak frenn yo. Yo mechan anpil, se yon bann san manman. Lè yo sou chwal yo, y'ap fè bri tankou lanmè lè l' move. Yo pare lame yo pou yo vin fè lagè kont Babilòn.
They lay hold on bow and spear; they are cruel, and have no mercy; their voice roars like the sea; and they ride on horses, everyone set in array, as a man to the battle, against you, daughter of Babylon.
43 Wa Babilòn lan pran nouvèl la. Li santi de bra l' kase. Li gen yon sèl kè sere, l'ap soufri tankou yon fanm ki gen tranche.
The king of Babylon has heard the news of them, and his hands wax feeble: anguish has taken hold of him, pains as of a woman in labor.
44 Tankou yon lyon k'ap soti nan rakbwa bò larivyè Jouden an pou l' ale kote bèt yo ye nan savann yo, mwen menm Seyè a, m'ap vini. M'ap fè moun yo kouri kite peyi a, anvan yo bat je yo. Lè sa a, se moun m'a chwazi a m'a mete pou gouvènen peyi a. Ki moun ki tankou m'? Ki moun ki ka koresponn avè m'? Ki chèf ki ka kenbe tèt avè m'?
Look, the enemy shall come up like a lion from the pride of the Jordan against the strong habitation: for I will suddenly make them run away from it; and whoever is chosen, him will I appoint over it: for who is like me? And who will appoint me a time? And who is the shepherd who can stand before me?"
Therefore hear the counsel of the LORD, that he has taken against Babylon; and his purposes, that he has purposed against the land of the Chaldeans: "Surely they shall drag them away, even the little ones of the flock; surely he shall make their habitation desolate over them.
46 Lè lavil Babilòn tonbe, l'ap fè yon kokennchenn bri, latè ap tranble. Y'ap tande rèl moun yo nan tout lòt nasyon yo.
At the noise of the taking of Babylon the earth trembles, and the cry is heard among the nations."
