< Jeremi 46 >

1 Men mesaj Seyè a bay pwofèt Jeremi sou lòt nasyon yo:
The LORD’s word which came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the nations.
2 Mesaj sou peyi Lejip.
Of Egypt: concerning the army of Pharaoh Necoh king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates in Carchemish, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon struck in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah.
3 Ofisye lame Lejip la ap bay lòd: -Pare plak pwotèj yo, gwo kou piti, pou pare kou! Annavan pou batay la!
“Prepare the buckler and shield, and draw near to battle!
4 Sele chwal yo. Kavalye, moute sou yo. Mete nou an ran, kas nou nan tèt nou. File pwent frenn nou yo. Mete rad an fè pou fè lagè nou sou nou.
Harness the horses, and get up, you horsemen, and stand up with your helmets. Polish the spears, put on the coats of mail.
5 Seyè a ap mande: -Kisa nou wè la a? Yo pè, y'ap kouri tounen, yo kraze vanyan sòlda yo anba kou! Y'ap kouri met deyò san gad dèyè. Toupatou tout moun pè.
Why have I seen it? They are dismayed and are turned backward. Their mighty ones are beaten down, have fled in haste, and don’t look back. Terror is on every side,” says the LORD.
“Don’t let the swift flee away, nor the mighty man escape. In the north by the river Euphrates they have stumbled and fallen.
7 Kilès sa a k'ap vini tankou dlo nan larivyè Nil k'ap desann, tankou yon rivyè k'ap anvayi toupatou?
“Who is this who rises up like the Nile, like rivers whose waters surge?
8 Se peyi Lejip k'ap gonfle kò l' konsa, tankou dlo larivyè Nil, tankou yon rivyè k'ap anvayi toupatou. Lejip te di: M'ap gonfle, m'ap kouvri tout latè. M'ap kraze tout lavil yo ansanm ak tout moun ki rete ladan yo.
Egypt rises up like the Nile, like rivers whose waters surge. He says, ‘I will rise up. I will cover the earth. I will destroy cities and its inhabitants.’
9 Bay chwal yo lòd pou yo ale. Bay cha lagè yo lòd pou yo woule. Voye sòlda yo al goumen: moun peyi Soudan ak moun peyi Liban yo ak plak pwotèj yo sou bra yo, ansanm ak moun peyi Lidi yo ki gen ladrès pou sèvi ak banza.
Go up, you horses! Rage, you chariots! Let the mighty men go out: Cush and Put, who handle the shield; and the Ludim, who handle and bend the bow.
Li pral tire revanj li sou lènmi l' yo. Nepe li pral touye yo jouk li pa kapab ankò. Li pral bwè san yo jouk vant li plen. Se jou y'ap touye bèt yo ofri pou Seyè a, Bondye ki gen tout pouvwa a, nan nò, bò larivyè Lefrat.
For that day is of the Lord, GOD of Armies, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge himself of his adversaries. The sword will devour and be satiated, and will drink its fill of their blood; for the Lord, GOD of Armies, has a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.
11 Nou menm moun peyi Lejip, moute nan peyi Galarad, al chache renmèd! Tout renmèd nou yo p'ap fè anyen pou nou. Pa gen geri pou nou.
Go up into Gilead, and take balm, virgin daughter of Egypt. You use many medicines in vain. There is no healing for you.
12 Moun lòt nasyon yo pran nouvèl gwo wont ki rive nou an. Toupatou sou latè yo tande rèl nou. Vanyan sòlda yo ap bite yonn sou lòt, y'ap tonbe atè ansanm.
The nations have heard of your shame, and the earth is full of your cry; for the mighty man has stumbled against the mighty, they both fall together.”
13 Men mesaj Seyè a te bay pwofèt Jeremi lè Nèbikadneza, wa Babilòn lan, te vin atake peyi Lejip la:
The word that the LORD spoke to Jeremiah the prophet, how that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon should come and strike the land of Egypt:
14 -Fè piblikasyon nan tout peyi Lejip la. Fè tout moun lavil Migdòl, lavil Menmfis ak lavil Tapanès konnen. Di yo: Leve non, pare pou defann nou. Lagè fin detwi tou sa ki bò kote nou.
“Declare in Egypt, publish in Migdol, and publish in Memphis and in Tahpanhes; say, ‘Stand up, and prepare, for the sword has devoured around you.’
15 Poukisa Apis, towo bèf ki bondye nou an, kouri met deyò? Poukisa towo bèf nou an pa kenbe tèt? Se Seyè a ki lage l' atè!
Why are your strong ones swept away? They didn’t stand, because the LORD pushed them.
16 Li fè sòlda yo bite, yo tonbe yonn sou lòt. Yonn ap di lòt: Leve non! Ann tounen lakay nou, nan peyi nou! Ann chape anba nepe lènmi yo!
He made many to stumble. Yes, they fell on one another. They said, ‘Arise! Let’s go again to our own people, and to the land of our birth, from the oppressing sword.’
17 Yo bay farawon an, wa Lejip la, yon lòt non. Yo rele l': Paladò. Li kite lè a pase!
They cried there, ‘Pharaoh king of Egypt is but a noise; he has let the appointed time pass by.’
Men sa m' di: Se mwen ki Bondye vivan an. Moun k'ap vini pou atake nou an ap tankou mòn Tabò ki nan mitan lòt mòn yo, tankou mòn Kamèl ki kanpe byen wo nan lanmè a.
“As I live,” says the King, whose name is the LORD of Armies, “surely like Tabor among the mountains, and like Carmel by the sea, so he will come.
19 Nou menm moun peyi Lejip, mare pakèt nou pou yo depòte nou! Lavil Menmfis pral tounen yon dezè, yon bann miray kraze, san pesonn ladan l'.
You daughter who dwells in Egypt, furnish yourself to go into captivity; for Memphis will become a desolation, and will be burned up, without inhabitant.
20 Peyi Lejip te tankou yon bèl gazèl. Men, yon tanwouan soti nan nò vin atake l'.
“Egypt is a very beautiful heifer; but destruction out of the north has come. It has come.
21 Peyi Lejip te pran yon bann moun lòt nasyon sèvi sòlda nan lame li. Men, yo te gra tankou towo chatre ki nan manje. Yo menm tou yo pa kanpe goumen. Yo vire do yo, yo tout kouri met deyò, lè jou malè yo rive sou yo, lè jou chatiman yo a tonbe sou yo.
Also her hired men in the middle of her are like calves of the stall, for they also are turned back. They have fled away together. They didn’t stand, for the day of their calamity has come on them, the time of their visitation.
22 Peyi Lejip ap tankou koulèv k'ap kouri pou moun, l'ap kouri ale lè lame lènmi l' yo ap pwoche. Y'ap atake l' ak rach tankou moun k'ap koupe pyebwa.
Its sound will go like the serpent, for they will march with an army, and come against her with axes, as wood cutters.
23 Yo mete tout gwo rakbwa yo atè, rakbwa kote moun pa t' ka antre a. Lènmi yo anpil, ou pa ka konte yo. Sòlda yo pi plis pase yon lame krikèt. Se Seyè a menm ki di sa.
They will cut down her forest,” says the LORD, “though it can’t be searched; because they are more than the locusts, and are innumerable.
24 Moun Lejip yo wont, pèp ki soti nan nò a kraze yo.
The daughter of Egypt will be disappointed; she will be delivered into the hand of the people of the north.”
Wi, mwen pral pini farawon an ansanm ak tout moun ki te mete konfyans yo nan li.
The LORD of Armies, the God of Israel, says: “Behold, I will punish Amon of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with her gods and her kings, even Pharaoh, and those who trust in him.
26 M'ap lage yo nan men moun ki soti pou touye yo a, nan men Nèbikadneza, wa Babilòn lan, ak lame moun pa l' yo. Men, apre sa, moun va rete nan peyi Lejip la tankou nan tan lontan. Se mwen menm Seyè a ki di sa.
I will deliver them into the hand of those who seek their lives, and into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of his servants. Afterwards it will be inhabited, as in the days of old,” says the LORD.
27 Nou pa bezwen pè, nou menm pitit Jakòb, sèvitè mwen an. Nou pa bezwen tranble, nou menm moun pèp Izrayèl yo. M'ap vin delivre nou nan peyi lwen sa yo. M'ap vin sove pitit nou yo nan peyi kote yo te depòte nou an. N'ap tounen lakay nou pou nou viv ak kè poze, san pesonn pa chache nou kont ankò.
“But don’t you be afraid, Jacob my servant. Don’t be dismayed, Israel; for, behold, I will save you from afar, and your offspring from the land of their captivity. Jacob will return, and will be quiet and at ease. No one will make him afraid.
28 Nou menm pitit Jakòb, sèvitè mwen an, nou pa bezwen pè. M'ap vin jwenn nou, m'ap sove nou. Se Seyè a menm ki di sa. M'ap disparèt tout nasyon kote mwen te gaye nou yo. Nou menm, mwen p'ap detwi nou. Men, pou pini se pou m' pini nou, jan sa dwe fèt. Mwen p'ap kite anyen pou nou.
Don’t be afraid, O Jacob my servant,” says the LORD, “for I am with you; for I will make a full end of all the nations where I have driven you, but I will not make a full end of you, but I will correct you in measure, and will in no way leave you unpunished.”
