< Oze 13 >
Men, y' al fè sa ki mal. Y' al adore Baal. Se poutèt sa yo pèdi pye.
“When Ephraim speaks tremblingly, He has been lifted up in Israel, When he becomes guilty in Ba‘al he dies.
2 Jouk koulye a, y'ap fè peche toujou. Y'ap pran kwiv, y'ap fonn li pou fè estati zidòl. Y'ap fè bèl zidòl an ajan jan yo konnen. Tou sa se travay atizan fè ak men yo. Apre sa yo di: Ann ofri bèt pou touye ba yo! Koulye a nou wè se moun k'ap bo estati bèf!
And now they sin, And make for themselves a molten image of their silver, By their own understanding—idols, A work of artisans—all of it, Of them they say, who [are] sacrificers among men, The calves let them kiss.
3 Konsa, moun sa yo ap disparèt tankou yon vapè ki leve granmaten, tankou lawouze lè solèy fin leve. Y'ap tankou pay van an ap leve soti sou glasi. Y'ap tankou lafimen k'ap soti nan yon fetay kizin.
Therefore they are as a cloud of the morning, And as dew, rising early, going away, As chaff tossed about out of a floor, And as smoke out of a window.
And I [am] your God YHWH from the land of Egypt, And you do not know a God besides Me, And a Savior—there is none except Me.
5 Mwen te okipe ou lè ou te nan dezè a, nan peyi ki pa gen dlo menm lan.
I have known you in a wilderness, In a land of droughts.
6 Men, lè yo rive nan peyi ki gen bon tè a, yo manje plen vant yo, lògèy vire tèt yo, se konsa yo bliye m'.
They are satiated according to their feedings, They have been satiated, And their heart is lifted up, Therefore they have forgotten Me,
Tankou yon leyopa, mwen pral anbiske kò m' sou wout yo ap tann yo.
And I am to them as a lion, I look out as a leopard by the way.
8 M'ap tonbe sou yo tankou yon manman lous yo pran pitit li. M'ap dechire yo. M'ap devore yo lamenm tankou yon fenmèl lyon. M'ap dechire yo tankou yon bèt nan bwa.
I meet them as a bereaved bear, And I tear the enclosure of their heart, And I consume them there as a lioness, A beast of the field tears them.
9 M'ap detwi nou, nou menm pèp Izrayèl la, paske nou vire sou do mwen, mwen menm ki tout sekou nou.
You have destroyed yourself, O Israel, But in Me [is] your help;
10 Nou te mande pou yo ban nou yon wa ansanm ak lòt chèf. Men, kote wa ki pou te sove nou an?
Where [is] your king now—And he saves you in all your cities? And your judges of whom you said, Give a king and heads to me?
11 Mwen te fè kòlè, mwen te ban nou wa a. Men, apre sa, nou fè m' fache pi rèd, mwen wete l' nan mitan nou.
I give to you a king in My anger, And I take away in My wrath.
12 Mwen make tou sa Efrayim fè ki mal sou papye. Mwen sere l' byen lwen.
Bound up [is] the iniquity of Ephraim, Hidden [is] his sin,
13 Nan tout malè sa a, Efrayim te gen yon chans ankò pou l' ta sove. Men, li twò sòt, l'ap pèdi chans lan.
Pangs of a travailing woman come to him, He [is] not a wise son, For he does not remain [at] the time for the breaking forth of sons.
14 Mwen p'ap sove pèp la anba lanmò. Mwen p'ap anpeche yo desann nan peyi kote mò yo ye a. Annavan, lanmò! Vini ak tout malè ou yo! Nou menm ki chèf nan peyi kote mò yo ye a, vin detwi pèp la. Mwen p'ap janm gen pitye pou pèp sa a ankò. (Sheol )
Will I ransom them from the hand of Sheol? Will I redeem them from death? Where [is] your plague, O death? Where your destruction, O Sheol? Comfort is hid from My eyes. (Sheol )
15 Menm si Izrayèl ta fleri tankou wozo bò dlo, m'ap fè yon van leve nan dezè kote solèy leve a, m'ap fè l' vante sou li, l'ap cheche tout sous dlo ak tout fontenn li yo. L'ap pran tout bagay ki gen valè nan byen l' yo, l'ap pote yo ale.
Though he produces fruit among brothers, An east wind comes in, a wind of YHWH, From a wilderness it is coming up, And it dries up his fountain, And his spring becomes dry, It—it spoils a treasure—every desirable vessel.
16 Peyi Samari a pral peye pou sa l' fè a, paske li te leve sou do Bondye li a. Yo pral mouri nan lagè. Y'ap pran pitit yo, y'ap kraze yo atè, y'ap fann vant fanm ansent yo.
Samaria becomes desolate, Because she has been rebellious against her God, They fall by sword, Their sucklings are dashed in pieces, And its pregnant ones are ripped up!”
