ગીતશાસ્ત્ર 89

1 ૧ એથાન એઝ્રાહીનું માસ્કીલ. હું નિરંતર યહોવાહની કૃપા વિષે ગાઈશ. હું મારે મુખે પેઢી દરપેઢી તમારું વિશ્વાસુપણું પ્રગટ કરીશ.

An instruction, by Ethan the Ezrahite. Of the kind acts of Jehovah, to the age I sing, To all generations I make known Thy faithfulness with my mouth,

2 ૨ કેમ કે મેં કહ્યું છે, “કૃપા સદાને માટે સ્થાપન કરવામાં આવશે; આકાશોમાં જ તમે તમારું વિશ્વાસુપણું સ્થાપજો.”

For I said, 'To the age is kindness built, The heavens! Thou dost establish Thy faithfulness in them.'

3 ૩ યહોવાહે કહ્યું, “મેં મારા પસંદ કરેલાની સાથે કરાર કર્યો છે, મેં મારા સેવક દાઉદને વચન આપ્યું છે.

I have made a covenant for My chosen, I have sworn to David My servant:

4 ૪ તારા વંશજોને હું સદા ટકાવી રાખીશ અને વંશપરંપરા હું તારું રાજ્યાસન સ્થિર રાખીશ.” (સેલાહ)

'Even to the age do I establish thy seed, And have built to generation and generation thy throne. (Selah)

5 ૫ હે યહોવાહ, આકાશો તમારા ચમત્કારોની સ્તુતિ કરશે; સંતોની સભામાં તમારું વિશ્વાસુપણું વખાણવામાં આવશે.

and the heavens confess Thy wonders, O Jehovah, Thy faithfulness also [is] in an assembly of holy ones.

6 ૬ કેમ કે આકાશમાં એવો કોણ છે કે જેની તુલના યહોવાહ સાથે થાય? ઈશ્વરના દીકરાઓમાં યહોવાહ જેવો કોણ છે?

For who in the sky, Compareth himself to Jehovah? Is like to Jehovah among sons of the mighty?

7 ૭ સંતોની સભામાં તે ઘણા ભયાવહ ઈશ્વર છે અને જેઓ તેમની આસપાસ છે તે સર્વ કરતાં તે વધારે ભયાવહ છે.

God is very terrible, In the secret counsel of His holy ones, And fearful over all surrounding Him.

8 ૮ હે સૈન્યોના ઈશ્વર યહોવાહ, હે યહોવાહ, તમારા જેવો પરાક્રમી કોણ છે? તમારી આસપાસ તમારું વિશ્વાસુપણું છે.

O Jehovah, God of Hosts, Who [is] like Thee — a strong Jah? And Thy faithfulness [is] round about Thee.

9 ૯ સમુદ્રના ગર્વ પર તમે અધિકાર ચલાવો છો; જ્યારે તેનાં મોજાંઓ ઊછળે છે, ત્યારે તેઓને તમે શાંત પાડો છો.

Thou [art] ruler over the pride of the sea, In the lifting up of its billows Thou dost restrain them.

10 ૧૦ મારી નંખાયેલાની જેમ તમે રાહાબને છૂંદી નાખ્યો છે. તમારા બાહુબળથી તમે તમારા શત્રુઓને વિખેરી નાખ્યા છે.

Thou hast bruised Rahab, as one wounded. With the arm of Thy strength Thou hast scattered Thine enemies.

11 ૧૧ આકાશો તમારાં છે અને પૃથ્વી પણ તમારી છે. તમે જગત તથા તેના સર્વસ્વને સ્થાપન કર્યાં છે.

Thine [are] the heavens — the earth also [is] Thine, The habitable world and its fulness, Thou hast founded them.

12 ૧૨ ઉત્તર તથા દક્ષિણ તમારાથી ઉત્પન્ન થયાં છે. તાબોર અને હેર્મોન તમારા નામે હર્ષનાદ કરે છે.

North and south Thou hast appointed them, Tabor and Hermon in Thy name do sing.

13 ૧૩ તમારો હાથ બળવાન છે અને તમારો હાથ મજબૂત તથા તમારો જમણો હાથ ઊંચો છે.

Thou hast an arm with might, Strong is Thy hand — high Thy right hand.

14 ૧૪ ન્યાયીપણું તથા ઇનસાફ તમારા રાજ્યાસનનો પાયો છે. તમારી હજૂરમાં કૃપા તથા સત્યતા હોય છે.

Righteousness and judgment [Are] the fixed place of Thy throne, Kindness and truth go before Thy face.

15 ૧૫ જેઓ તમારી સ્તુતિ કરે છે, તેઓ આશીર્વાદિત છે! હે યહોવાહ, તેઓ તમારા મુખના પ્રકાશમાં ચાલે છે.

O the happiness of the people knowing the shout, O Jehovah, in the light of Thy face they walk habitually.

16 ૧૬ તેઓ આખો દિવસ તમારા નામમાં આનંદ કરે છે અને તમારા ન્યાયીપણાથી તેઓને ઊંચા કરવામાં આવે છે.

In Thy name they rejoice all the day, And in Thy righteousness they are exalted,

17 ૧૭ તમે તેઓના સામર્થ્યનો મહિમા છો અને તમારી ઇચ્છા પ્રમાણે અમે વિજયવંત છીએ.

For the beauty of their strength [art] Thou, And in Thy good will is our horn exalted,

18 ૧૮ કેમ કે અમારી ઢાલ તો યહોવાહ છે; ઇઝરાયલના પવિત્ર અમારા રાજા છે.

For of Jehovah [is] our shield, And of the Holy One of Israel our king.

19 ૧૯ ઘણા સમયો પહેલાં તમારા ભક્તોને તમે દર્શનમાં કહ્યું હતું; “જે પરાક્રમી છે તેને મેં સહાય કરી છે; લોકોમાંથી મેં એક યુવાનને પસંદ કરીને ઊંચો કર્યો છે.

Then Thou hast spoken in vision, To Thy saint, yea, Thou sayest, I have placed help upon a mighty one, Exalted a chosen one out of the people,

20 ૨૦ મેં મારા સેવક દાઉદને પસંદ કર્યો છે; મેં તેને મારા પવિત્ર તેલથી અભિષિક્ત કર્યો છે.

I have found David My servant, With My holy oil I have anointed him.

21 ૨૧ મારો હાથ તેને ટકાવી રાખશે; મારો બાહુ તેને સામર્થ્ય આપશે.

With whom My hand is established, My arm also doth strengthen him.

22 ૨૨ શત્રુ તેનું નુકસાન કરી શકશે નહિ; અને દુષ્ટ લોકો તેને દુઃખ આપશે નહિ.

An enemy exacteth not upon him, And a son of perverseness afflicteth him not.

23 ૨૩ તેની આગળ હું તેના શત્રુઓને પાડી નાખીશ; જેઓ તેનો ધિક્કાર કરે છે તેઓની ઉપર હું મરકી લાવીશ.

And I have beaten down before him his adversaries, And those hating him I plague,

24 ૨૪ મારું વિશ્વાસપણું તથા મારી કૃપા તેની સાથે નિરંતર રહેશે; મારા નામે તેનું શિંગ ઊંચું કરવામાં આવશે.

And My faithfulness and kindness [are] with him, And in My name is his horn exalted.

25 ૨૫ હું તેના હાથ સમુદ્ર પર સ્થાપન કરીશ અને નદીઓ પર તેનો જમણો હાથ સ્થાપન કરીશ.

And I have set on the sea his hand, And on the rivers his right hand.

26 ૨૬ તે મને પોકારીને કહેશે, ‘તમે મારા પિતા છો, મારા ઈશ્વર અને મારા તારણના ખડક છો.’

He proclaimeth me: 'Thou [art] my Father, My God, and the rock of my salvation.'

27 ૨૭ વળી હું તેને મારા પ્રથમજનિત પુત્રની જેમ, પૃથ્વીના રાજાઓમાં શ્રેષ્ઠ બનાવીશ.

I also first-born do appoint him, Highest of the kings of the earth.

28 ૨૮ હું તેના ઉપર મારી કૃપા સદા રાખીશ; અને તેની સાથે મારો કરાર દ્રઢ રહેશે.

To the age I keep for him My kindness, And My covenant [is] stedfast with him.

29 ૨૯ તેના વંશજો સદા રહે એવું પણ હું કરીશ અને તેનાં સિંહાસન ઉપર તેના સંતાનને આકાશોની જેમ સ્થાયી કરીશ.

And I have set his seed for ever, And his throne as the days of the heavens.

30 ૩૦ જો તેનાં સંતાનો મારા નિયમોનો ભંગ કરશે અને મારા હુકમોને આધીન નહિ રહે,

If his sons forsake My law, And in My judgments do not walk;

31 ૩૧ જો તેઓ મારા વિધિઓને તોડશે અને મારી આજ્ઞાઓ નહિ પાળે,

If My statutes they pollute, And My commands do not keep,

32 ૩૨ તો હું સોટીથી તેઓના અપરાધોની અને ફટકાથી તેઓના અન્યાયની શિક્ષા કરીશ.

I have looked after with a rod their transgression, And with strokes their iniquity,

33 ૩૩ પણ હું તેઓની પાસેથી મારી કૃપા લઈ લઈશ નહિ અને હું તેઓને અવિશ્વાસુ નહિ બનું.

And My kindness I break not from him, Nor do I deal falsely in My faithfulness.

34 ૩૪ હું મારો કરાર નહિ તોડું અને મારા હોઠોથી નીકળેલી વાત ફેરવીશ નહિ.

I profane not My covenant, And that which is going forth from My lips I change not.

35 ૩૫ એકવાર મેં મારી પવિત્રતાના સમ ખાધા છે હું દાઉદ સાથે જૂઠું બોલીશ નહિ.

Once I have sworn by My holiness, I lie not to David,

36 ૩૬ તેના વંશજો સર્વકાળ ટકશે અને મારી આગળ સૂર્યની જેમ તેનું રાજ્યાસન ટકશે.

His seed is to the age, And his throne [is] as the sun before Me,

37 ૩૭ ચંદ્રની જેમ તે સદા અચળ રહેશે, આકાશમાંના વિશ્વાસુ સાક્ષી જેવું થશે.” (સેલાહ)

As the moon it is established — to the age, And the witness in the sky is stedfast. (Selah)

38 ૩૮ પણ તમે તમારા અભિષિક્ત રાજાને તજીને તેને તુચ્છ ગણ્યો છે; તેના પર કોપાયમાન થયા છો.

And Thou, Thou hast cast off, and dost reject, Thou hast shown Thyself wroth With Thine anointed,

39 ૩૯ તમે તમારા સેવક સાથે કરેલા કરારને તોડ્યો છે. તમે તેના મુગટને કચરામાં ફેંકી દીધો હતો.

Hast rejected the covenant of Thy servant, Thou hast polluted to the earth his crown,

40 ૪૦ તેનું રક્ષણ કરનાર દીવાલોને તમે તોડી પાડી છે, તેના દરેક કિલ્લાને તમે ખંડેર બનાવ્યા છે.

Thou hast broken down all his hedges, Thou hast made his fenced places a ruin.

41 ૪૧ માર્ગે જનારા સર્વ તેને લૂંટી લે છે. તે પોતાના પડોશીઓથી અપમાન પામે છે.

Spoiled him have all passing by the way, He hath been a reproach to his neighbours,

42 ૪૨ તમે તેના વૈરીઓને તેમની વિરુદ્ધ બળવાન કર્યા છે; અને તમે તેના સર્વ શત્રુઓને આનંદિત કર્યા છે.

Thou hast exalted the right hand of his adversaries, Thou hast caused all his enemies to rejoice.

43 ૪૩ તમે તેની તલવારની ધાર વાળી દો છો અને તમે તેને યુદ્ધમાં ઊભો રાખ્યો નથી.

Also — Thou turnest back the sharpness of his sword, And hast not established him in battle,

44 ૪૪ તમે તેનું તેજ લઈ લીધું છે અને તેનું રાજ્યાસન જમીનદોસ્ત કરી નાખ્યું છે.

Hast caused [him] to cease from his brightness, And his throne to the earth hast cast down.

45 ૪૫ તમે તેની યુવાનીના દિવસો ટૂંકા કર્યા છે. તમે તેને શરમિંદો કરી દીધો છે.

Thou hast shortened the days of his youth, Hast covered him over [with] shame. (Selah)

46 ૪૬ હે યહોવાહ, તે ક્યાં સુધી? શું તમે સદાકાળ સુધી સંતાઈ રહેશો? તમારો કોપ ક્યાં સુધી અગ્નિની જેમ સળગતો રહેશે?

Till when, O Jehovah, art Thou hidden? For ever doth Thy fury burn as fire?

47 ૪૭ મારું આયુષ્ય કેટલું ટુંકું છે, તે વિષે વિચારો અને તમે માનવજાતને કેવી વ્યર્થતાને માટે ઉત્પન્ન કરી છે!

Remember, I pray Thee, what [is] life-time? Wherefore in vain hast Thou created All the sons of men?

48 ૪૮ એવું કોણ છે કે જે જીવશે અને મરણ પામશે નહિ? શેઓલના કબજામાંથી પોતાનો આત્મા કોણ છોડાવશે? (સેલાહ) (Sheol h7585)

Who [is] the man that liveth, and doth not see death? He delivereth his soul from the hand of Sheol. (Selah) (Sheol h7585)

49 ૪૯ હે પ્રભુ, જેને વિષે તમે તમારા વિશ્વાસુપણાએ દાઉદ પ્રત્યે સમ ખાધા, તે તમારી અગાઉની કૃપા ક્યાં છે?

Where [are] Thy former kindnesses, O Lord. Thou hast sworn to David in Thy faithfulness,

50 ૫૦ હે પ્રભુ, તમારા સેવકોનું અપમાન સંભારો અને હું કેવી રીતે મારા હૃદયમાં બધા પરાક્રમી લોકોનો તિરસ્કાર સહન કરું છું.

Remember, O Lord, the reproach of Thy servants, I have borne in my bosom all the strivings of the peoples,

51 ૫૧ હે યહોવાહ, તમારા શત્રુઓએ અપમાન કર્યું છે; તેઓ તમારા અભિષિક્તનાં પગલાની મશ્કરી કરે છે, તે પણ તમે સંભારો.

Wherewith Thine enemies reproached, O Jehovah, Wherewith they have reproached The steps of Thine anointed.

52 ૫૨ નિરંતર યહોવાહને ધન્યવાદ આપો. આમીન તથા આમીન.

Blessed [is] Jehovah to the age. Amen, and amen!
