ગીતશાસ્ત્ર 84

1 ૧ મુખ્ય ગવૈયાને માટે; રાગ ગિત્તિથ. કોરાના દીકરાઓનું ગીત. હે સૈન્યોના યહોવાહ, તમારું નિવાસસ્થાન કેવું મનોહર છે!

“For the leader of the music. On the Gittith. A psalm of the sons of Korah.” How lovely are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts!

2 ૨ મારો આત્મા યહોવાહના આંગણાની અભિલાષા રાખે છે; જીવતા જાગતા ઈશ્વર માટે મારું હૃદય તથા મારો દેહ હર્ષનાદ કરશે.

My soul longeth, yea, fainteth, for the courts of the LORD; My heart and my flesh cry aloud for the living God.

3 ૩ ચકલીઓને ઘર મળ્યું છે અને અબાબીલને પોતાનાં બચ્ચાં રાખવા માટે માળો મળ્યો છે એટલે તમારી વેદીઓ આગળ, હે સૈન્યોના યહોવાહ, મારા રાજા તથા મારા ઈશ્વર.

The very sparrow findeth an abode, And the swallow a nest, where they may lay their young, By thine altars, O LORD of hosts, My king and my God!

4 ૪ તમારા ઘરમાં રહેનારાઓ આશીર્વાદિત છે; તેઓ સદા તમારાં સ્તુતિગાન ગાશે. (સેલાહ)

Happy they who dwell in thy house, Who are continually praising thee! (Pause)

5 ૫ જે માણસનું સામર્થ્ય તમારામાં છે, જેઓનાં હૃદય સિયોનના માર્ગો ધ્યાનમાં રાખે છે, તેઓ આશીર્વાદિત છે.

Happy the man whose glory is in thee, In whose heart are the ways [[to Jerusalem]]!

6 ૬ રુદનના નીચાણને ઓળંગતા તેઓ તેને ઝરાની જગ્યા બનાવે છે. પ્રથમ વરસાદ તેને આશીર્વાદથી ભરપૂર કરશે.

Passing through the valley of Baca, they make it a fountain; and the early rain covereth it with blessings.

7 ૭ તેઓ વધારે અને વધારે સામર્થ્યવાન થતાં જાય છે; તેઓમાંનો દરેક જણ સિયોનમાં ઈશ્વરની સમક્ષ હાજર થાય છે.

They go on from strength to strength; Every one of them appeareth before God in Zion.

8 ૮ હે સૈન્યોના ઈશ્વર યહોવાહ, મારી પ્રાર્થના સાંભળો; હે યાકૂબના ઈશ્વર, હું જે પ્રાર્થના કરું, તે પર ધ્યાન આપો! (સેલાહ)

Hear my prayer, O LORD, God of hosts! Give ear, O God of Jacob! (Pause)

9 ૯ હે ઈશ્વર, અમારી ઢાલને જુઓ; તમારા અભિષિક્ત માટે કાળજી રાખો.

Look down, O God! our shield, And behold the face of thine anointed!

10 ૧૦ કારણ કે હજાર દિવસ કરતાં તમારા આંગણામાંનો એક દિવસ શ્રેષ્ઠ છે. દુષ્ટોના તંબુમાં રહેવું તે કરતાં મારા ઈશ્વરના ઘરના દરવાન થવું, તે મને વધારે પસંદ છે.

For a day spent in thy courts is better than a thousand: I would rather stand on the threshold of the house of my God, Than dwell in the tents of wickedness.

11 ૧૧ કારણ કે યહોવાહ ઈશ્વર આપણા સૂર્ય તથા ઢાલ છે; યહોવાહ કૃપા તથા ગૌરવ આપશે; ન્યાયથી વર્તનારને માટે તે કંઈ પણ શ્રેષ્ઠ બાબત બાકી રાખશે નહિ.

For the LORD God is a sun and a shield; The LORD giveth grace and glory; No good thing doth he withhold From them that walk uprightly.

12 ૧૨ હે સૈન્યોના યહોવાહ, જે માણસ તમારા પર ભરોસો રાખે છે તે આશીર્વાદિત છે.

O LORD of hosts! Happy the man who trusteth in thee!
