< ગીતશાસ્ત્ર 81 >

1 ૧ મુખ્ય ગવૈયાને માટે; રાગ ગિત્તિથ. આસાફનું (ગીત). ઈશ્વર જે આપણું સામર્થ્ય છે, તેમની સમક્ષ મોટેથી ગાઓ; યાકૂબના ઈશ્વર સમક્ષ હર્ષનાદ કરો.
To the Chief Musician. On "the Gittith." Asaph’s. Shout ye for joy, unto God our strength, Sound the note of triumph, to the God of Jacob;
2 ૨ ગીત ગાઓ અને ઢોલક વગાડો, સિતાર અને મધુર વીણા સાથે વગાડો.
Raise a melody, and strike the timbrel, The lyre so sweet, with the harp:
3 ૩ ચંદ્રદર્શન તેમ જ પૂનમના દિવસે એટલે આપણા પવિત્ર પર્વને દિવસે, રણશિંગડું વગાડો.
Blow, at the new moon, the horn, At the full moon, for the day of our sacred festival:
4 ૪ કેમ કે એમ કરવું એ ઇઝરાયલને માટે વિધિ છે, તે યાકૂબના ઈશ્વરનો હુકમ છે.
For, a statute to Israel, it is, A regulation, by the God of Jacob;
5 ૫ જ્યારે તે મિસર દેશની સામે નીકળ્યા ત્યારે તેમણે યૂસફમાં એ સાક્ષી ઠરાવી; હું ઓળખતો નહોતો એવાની વાણી મેં ત્યાં સાંભળી,
A testimony in Joseph, he appointed it, When he went forth over the land of Egypt: A language I liked not, used I to hear;
6 ૬ “મેં તમારા ખભાનો ભાર ઉતાર્યો; તેના હાથ વજનદાર ટોપલાથી મુક્ત થયા.
I took away, from the burden, his shoulder, his hands, from the clay, were set free.
7 ૭ સંકટમાં તમે મને પોકાર કર્યો, તેથી મેં તમને છોડાવ્યા; ગુપ્તસ્થાનમાંથી ગર્જના દ્વારા મેં તમને પ્રત્યુત્તર આપ્યો. મરીબાહનાં પાણી આગળ મેં તારી પરીક્ષા કરી. (સેલાહ)
In distress, thou didst cry, and I delivered thee, —I answered thee, within a hiding-place of thunder, I proved thee by the waters of Meribah. (Selah)
8 ૮ હે મારા લોકો, સાંભળો, કેમ કે આ મારી ચેતવણી છે, હે ઇઝરાયલ, જો તમે મારું સાંભળો, તો કેવું સારું!
Hear, O my people, and I will adjure thee, O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me!
9 ૯ તારામાં કોઈ અન્ય દેવ ન હોવો જોઈએ; તું કોઈ પારકા દેવની પૂજા કરીશ નહિ.
There shall not be, within thee, a foreign GOD, —Neither shalt thou bow down to a strange GOD:
10 ૧૦ તને મિસર દેશમાંથી બહાર કાઢી લાવનાર તારો ઈશ્વર યહોવાહ હું છું. તારું મુખ ઉઘાડ અને હું તેને ભરી દઈશ.
I, Yahweh, am thy God, Who brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, —Open wide thy mouth, that I may fill it.
11 ૧૧ પણ મારા લોકોએ મારી વાણી સાંભળી નહિ; ઇઝરાયલે મારો આદર કર્યો નહિ.
But my people, hearkened not, unto my voice, Even, Israel, inclined not unto me.
12 ૧૨ તેથી મેં તેઓને તેઓનાં હૃદયની હઠ પ્રમાણે ચાલવા દીધા કે જેથી તેઓ પોતાની યોજનાઓ પ્રમાણે વર્તે.
So then I let them go on in the stubbornness of their own heart, They might walk in their own counsels!
13 ૧૩ મારા લોકો મારું સાંભળે અને મારા લોકો મારા માર્ગોમાં ચાલે, તો કેવું સારું!
If, my people, were hearkening unto me, [If, ] Israel, in my ways, would walk,
14 ૧૪ તો હું તેઓના શત્રુઓને પરાજિત કરું અને તેઓના વૈરીઓ વિરુદ્ધ મારો હાથ ઉપાડું.
Right soon, their foes, would I subdue, And, against their adversaries, would I turn my hand:
15 ૧૫ જેઓ યહોવાહને ધિક્કારે છે તેઓ તેમની સામે ભયથી સંકોચાશે! તેઓનું અપમાન સદાને માટે રહેશે.
The haters of Yahweh, should come cringing unto him, Then let their own good time be age-abiding!
16 ૧૬ હું શ્રેષ્ઠ ઘઉંથી તેઓને તૃપ્ત કરીશ; ખડકમાંના મધથી હું તને સંતોષ પમાડીશ.”
Then would he feed them from the marrow of the wheat, Yea, out of the rock—with honey, would I satisfy thee.
