ગીતશાસ્ત્ર 73

1 ૧ ઇઝરાયલ કે, જેઓનાં હૃદય શુદ્ધ છે, તેઓના પર, ઈશ્વર ખરેખર પરોપકારી છે.

A Psalme committed to Asaph. Yet God is good to Israel: euen, to the pure in heart.

2 ૨ પણ મેં તો મારે પગે લગભગ ઠોકર ખાધી હતી; હું પગલાં ભરતાં લગભગ લપસી ગયો હતો.

As for me, my feete were almost gone: my steps had well neere slipt.

3 ૩ કારણ કે જ્યારે મેં દુષ્ટોની સમૃદ્ધિ જોઈ, ત્યારે મેં ગર્વિષ્ઠોની અદેખાઈ કરી.

For I feared at the foolish, when I sawe the prosperitie of the wicked.

4 ૪ કેમ કે મરણ સમયે તેઓને વેદના થતી નથી, પણ તેઓ મજબૂત અને દ્રઢ રહે છે.

For there are no bandes in their death, but they are lustie and strong.

5 ૫ તેઓના પર માનવજાતનાં દુ: ખો આવતાં નથી; બીજાઓની જેમ તેઓને પીડા થતી નથી.

They are not in trouble as other men, neither are they plagued with other men.

6 ૬ તેઓનો ગર્વ ગળાની કંઠી જેવો છે, જે વસ્ત્રની જેમ જુલમ તેઓને ઢાંકી રાખે છે.

Therefore pride is as a chayne vnto them, and crueltie couereth them as a garment.

7 ૭ તેઓની દુષ્ટતા તેઓનાં હૃદયમાંથી ઊભરાયા કરે છે; તેઓના મનની દુષ્ટ કલ્પનાઓ ઊભરાઈ જાય છે.

Their eyes stande out for fatnesse: they haue more then heart can wish.

8 ૮ તેઓ નિંદા કરે છે અને ભૂંડાઈ વિષે બોલે છે; તેઓ જુલમની બડાઈ હાંકે છે.

They are licentious, and speake wickedly of their oppression: they talke presumptuously.

9 ૯ તેઓ આકાશો વિરુદ્ધ બોલે છે અને પૃથ્વીમાં તેઓની જીભ છૂટથી ચાલે છે.

They set their mouth against heauen, and their tongue walketh through the earth.

10 ૧૦ એ માટે ઈશ્વરના લોકો તેમની તરફ ફરશે અને તેઓ ઊભરાતું પાણી પી જાય છે.

Therefore his people turne hither: for waters of a full cup are wrung out to them.

11 ૧૧ તેઓ પૂછે છે કે, “ઈશ્વર કેવી રીતે જાણે છે? શું ચાલી રહ્યું છે તે વિષે ઈશ્વર માહિતગાર છે?”

And they say, Howe doeth God know it? or is there knowledge in the most High?

12 ૧૨ જુઓ, આ લોકો દુષ્ટ છે; હંમેશાં શાંતિમાં રહીને તેઓ વધારે અને વધારે ધનવાન થતા જાય છે.

Lo, these are the wicked, yet prosper they alway, and increase in riches.

13 ૧૩ ખરેખર મેં મારું હૃદય અમથું શુદ્ધ રાખ્યું છે અને મેં મારા હાથ નિરર્થક નિર્દોષ રાખ્યા છે.

Certainely I haue clensed mine heart in vaine, and washed mine hands in innocencie.

14 ૧૪ કારણ કે આખો દિવસ હું પીડાયા કરું છું અને દરરોજ સવારે મને શિક્ષા થાય છે.

For dayly haue I bene punished, and chastened euery morning.

15 ૧૫ જો મેં કહ્યું હોત, “હું આ પ્રમાણે બોલીશ,” તો હું તમારા દીકરાઓની પેઢીનો વિશ્વાસઘાત કરત.

If I say, I will iudge thus, beholde the generation of thy children: I haue trespassed.

16 ૧૬ તો પણ આ બાબતો સમજવાને માટે મેં કોશિશ કરી, એ મારા માટે ખૂબ અઘરી હતી.

Then thought I to know this, but it was too painefull for me,

17 ૧૭ પછી હું ઈશ્વરના પવિત્રસ્થાનમાં ગયો અને ત્યાં તેઓના અંત વિષે હું સમજ્યો.

Vntill I went into the Sanctuarie of God: then vnderstoode I their ende.

18 ૧૮ ચોક્કસ તમે તેઓને લપસણી જગ્યામાં મૂકો છો; તમે તેઓનો વિનાશ કરો છો.

Surely thou hast set them in slipperie places, and castest them downe into desolation.

19 ૧૯ તેઓ એક ક્ષણમાં કેવા નષ્ટ થાય છે! તેઓ ધાકથી છેક નાશ પામેલા છે.

How suddenly are they destroyed, perished and horribly consumed,

20 ૨૦ માણસ જાગે કે તરત જ તે જેમ સ્વપ્ન હતું ન હતું થઈ જાય છે, તેમ, હે પ્રભુ, તમે જાગીને તેઓની પ્રતિમાને તુચ્છ કરશો.

As a dreame when one awaketh! O Lord, when thou raisest vs vp, thou shalt make their image despised.

21 ૨૧ કેમ કે મારું હૃદય વ્યાકુળ થયું અને હું બહુ ગંભીર રીતે ઝખમી થયો છું.

Certainely mine heart was vexed, and I was pricked in my reines:

22 ૨૨ હું એવો જડબુદ્ધિનો તથા અજ્ઞાન હતો; હું તમારી આગળ પશુ જેવો હતો.

So foolish was I and ignorant: I was a beast before thee.

23 ૨૩ પણ હું હંમેશા તમારી સાથે છું; તમે મારો જમણો હાથ પકડી રાખ્યો છે.

Yet I was alway with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand.

24 ૨૪ તમારા બોધથી મને દોરવણી આપશો અને પછી તમારા મહિમામાં મારો સ્વીકાર કરશો.

Thou wilt guide me by thy counsell, and afterward receiue me to glory.

25 ૨૫ આકાશમાં તમારા વિના મારું બીજું કોણ છે? પૃથ્વી પર મારો બીજો કોઈ પ્રિય નથી.

Whom haue I in heauen but thee? and I haue desired none in the earth with thee.

26 ૨૬ મારું શરીર તથા હૃદયનો ક્ષય થાય છે, પણ ઈશ્વર સદાકાળ મારા હૃદયનો ગઢ તથા વારસો છે.

My flesh fayleth and mine heart also: but God is the strength of mine heart, and my portion for euer.

27 ૨૭ જેઓ તમારાથી દૂર છે તેઓ નાશ પામશે; જેઓ તમને અવિશ્વાસુ છે તે સર્વનો તમે નાશ કરશો.

For loe, they that withdrawe themselues from thee, shall perish: thou destroyest all them that goe a whoring from thee.

28 ૨૮ પણ ઈશ્વર પાસે આવવું, તેમાં મારું ભલું છે. મેં પ્રભુ યહોવાહને મારો આશ્રય કર્યો છે. હું તમારાં સર્વ કૃત્યો પ્રગટ કરીશ.

As for me, it is good for me to draw neere to God: therefore I haue put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all thy workes.
