ગીતશાસ્ત્ર 71

1 ૧ હે યહોવાહ, મેં તમારા પર ભરોસો રાખ્યો છે; મને કદી આબરુહીન થવા દેશો નહિ.

In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust; let me never be made ashamed.

2 ૨ તમારા ન્યાયીપણાથી મને છોડાવો તથા બચાવો; મારી તરફ તમારા કાન ધરો અને મને ઉગારો.

In thy righteousness do thou deliver me and release me: incline thy ear unto me, and save me.

3 ૩ જ્યાં હું નિત્ય જઈ શકું તેવો મારા રહેવાને માટે ગઢ તમે થાઓ; તમે મને બચાવવાને આજ્ઞા આપી છે, કેમ કે તમે મારો ખડક તથા કિલ્લો છો.

Be thou unto me a rocky habitation, whereunto I may continually resort, which thou hast ordained to save me; for my rock and my strong-hold art thou.

4 ૪ હે મારા ઈશ્વર, તમે દુષ્ટોના હાથોમાંથી, અન્યાયી તથા ક્રૂર માણસના હાથમાંથી મને બચાવો.

O my God, release me out of the hand of the wicked, out of the grasp of the unrighteous and violent man.

5 ૫ હે પ્રભુ, ફક્ત તમે જ મારી આશા છો. મેં મારા બાળપણથી તમારા પર વિશ્વાસ કર્યો છે.

For thou art my hope, O Lord Eternal: thou art my trust from my youth.

6 ૬ હું ગર્ભસ્થાનમાં હતો, ત્યારથી તમે મારા આધાર રહ્યા છો; મારી માતાના ઉદરમાંથી મને બહાર લાવનારા તમે જ છો; હું હંમેશા તમારી સ્તુતિ કરીશ.

By thee have I been supported from my birth: thou art he that took me out of my mother's womb: of thee is my praise continually.

7 ૭ હું ઘણા લોકો માટે એક દ્રષ્ટાંત બન્યો છું; તમે મારો મજબૂત ગઢ છો.

As a wonderful token have I been unto many; but thou art my strong refuge.

8 ૮ મારું મુખ તમારી સ્તુતિથી ભરપૂર થશે અને આખો દિવસ તમારા ગૌરવની વાતોથી ભરપૂર થશે.

My mouth shall be filled with thy praise, and with thy glory all the day.

9 ૯ મારી વૃદ્ધાવસ્થામાં મને તજી ન દો; જ્યારે મારી શક્તિ ખૂટે, ત્યારે મારો ત્યાગ ન કરો.

Cast me not off in the time of old age: when my strength faileth, forsake me not.

10 ૧૦ કેમ કે મારા શત્રુઓ મારી વિરુદ્ધ વાતો કરે છે; જેઓ મારો પ્રાણ લેવાને તાકી રહ્યા છે, તેઓ અંદરોઅંદર મસલત કરે છે.

For my enemies speak of me; and they that watch for my soul take counsel together,

11 ૧૧ તેઓ કહે છે કે, “ઈશ્વરે તેને તજી દીધો છે; તેની પાછળ દોડીને તેને પકડી પાડીએ, કેમ કે તેને બચાવનાર કોઈ નથી.”

Saying, “God hath forsaken him: pursue and seize him: for there is none to deliver.”

12 ૧૨ હે ઈશ્વર, મારાથી દૂર ન જાઓ; હે મારા ઈશ્વર, મને મદદ કરવાને ઉતાવળ કરો.

O God, be not far from me: O my God, hasten to my help.

13 ૧૩ મારા આત્માનાં દુશ્મનો બદનામ થઈને નાશ પામો; મને ઉપદ્રવ કરવાને મથનારાઓ નિંદા તથા અપમાનથી ઢંકાઈ જાઓ.

Let those be made ashamed, let them perish, that are adversaries to my soul: let those be covered with reproach and dishonor that seek my unhappiness.

14 ૧૪ પણ હું નિત્ય તમારી આશા રાખીશ અને તમારી સ્તુતિ વધારે અને વધારે કરીશ.

But I will continually hope, and will add yet more to all thy praise.

15 ૧૫ મારું મુખ આખો દિવસ તમારા ન્યાયીપણા વિષે તથા તમારા દ્વારા મળતા ઉદ્ધાર વિષે વાતો પ્રગટ કરશે, તેમ છતાં હું તેમને સમજી શકતો નથી.

My mouth shall relate thy righteousness, all the day thy salvation; for I know not their numbers.

16 ૧૬ હું પ્રભુ યહોવાહના પરાક્રમી કામોનું વર્ણન કરતો આવીશ; હું તમારા, કેવળ તમારા જ ન્યાયીપણાનું વર્ણન કરીશ.

I will come to praise the mighty deeds of the Lord Eternal: I will make mention of thy righteousness, yea, thine only.

17 ૧૭ હે ઈશ્વર, મારી જુવાનીથી તમે મને શીખવ્યું છે; ત્યારથી હું તમારા ચમત્કારો પ્રગટ કરતો આવ્યો છું.

O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto I ever tell of thy wondrous deeds.

18 ૧૮ હે ઈશ્વર, જ્યારે હું વૃદ્ધ તથા પળિયાંવાળો થાઉં, ત્યારે પણ તમે મને મૂકી દેતા નહિ, હું આવતી પેઢીને તમારું બળ જણાવું અને સર્વ આવનારાઓને તમારું પરાક્રમ પ્રગટ કરું, ત્યાં સુધી મારો ત્યાગ ન કરશો.

Therefore also even in old age, and when I am grayheaded, O God, forsake me not: until I have told of thy strength unto [this] generation, to every one that may come of thy might.

19 ૧૯ હે ઈશ્વર, તમારું ન્યાયીપણું અતિશય ઉચ્ચ છે; હે ઈશ્વર, તમે મોટાં કામો કર્યાં છે; તમારા જેવો બીજો કોણ છે?

And thy righteousness, O God, reacheth even to the height, thou, who hast done great things: O God, who is like thee!

20 ૨૦ ઘણા ખેદજનક સંકટો તમે અમને દેખાડ્યાં છે તમે અમને ફરીથી સજીવ કરશો અને પૃથ્વીનાં ઊંડાણોમાંથી તમે અમને પાછા બહાર લાવશો.

Thou, who hast shown me great distresses and misfortunes, wilt again revive me; and from the depths of the earth wilt thou bring me up again.

21 ૨૧ તમે મારું મહત્વ વધારો; પાછા ફરીને મને દિલાસો આપો.

Thou wilt increase my greatness, and wilt turn round and comfort me.

22 ૨૨ સિતાર સાથે હું તમારું સ્તવન કરીશ હે મારા ઈશ્વર, હું તમારી સત્યતાનું સ્તવન કરીશ; હે ઇઝરાયલના પવિત્ર, વીણા સાથે હું તમારાં સ્તોત્રો ગાઈશ.

Also I, I will thank thee with the psaltery, [for] thy truth, O my God: I will sing unto thee with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel.

23 ૨૩ જ્યારે હું તમારી સ્તુતિ કરીશ, ત્યારે મારા હોઠો હર્ષનો પોકાર કરશે અને મારો ઉદ્ધાર પામેલો આત્મા અતિશય આનંદ પામશે.

My lips shall shout joyfully when I sing unto thee; and my soul [too], which thou hast redeemed.

24 ૨૪ મારી જીભ આખો દિવસ તમારા ન્યાયીપણા વિષે વાતો કરશે; કેમ કે મારું ખરાબ શોધનારાઓ બદનામ થયા છે અને ગભરાઈ ગયા છે.

Also my tongue shall speak all the day of thy righteousness; for ashamed, for put to the blush are those that seek my unhappiness.
