ગીતશાસ્ત્ર 69

1 ૧ મુખ્ય ગવૈયાને માટે; રાગ શોશાન્નીમ. દાઉદનું (ગીત). હે ઈશ્વર, મારો બચાવ કરો; કેમ કે મારા પ્રાણ સુધી પાણી ચઢી આવ્યું છે.

For the choirmaster. To the tune of “Lilies.” Of David. Save me, O God, for the waters are up to my neck.

2 ૨ હું ઊંડા કીચડમાં ડૂબી જાઉં છું, જ્યાં ઊભા રહેવાને પણ જગ્યા નથી; હું ઊંડા પાણીમાં આવી પડ્યો છું, રેલ મારે માથે ફરી વળી છે.

I have sunk into the miry depths, where there is no footing; I have drifted into deep waters, where the flood engulfs me.

3 ૩ હું રડી રડીને નિર્બળ થઈ ગયો છું; મારું ગળું સુકાઈ ગયું છે; મારા ઈશ્વરની રાહ જોતાં મારી આંખોનું તેજ ઘટી ગયું છે.

I am weary from my crying; my throat is parched. My eyes fail, looking for my God.

4 ૪ જેઓ વિનાકારણે મારો દ્વેષ કરે છે, તેઓ મારા માથાના નિમાળા કરતાં વધારે છે; જેઓ ગેરવાજબી રીતે મારો નાશ કરવા ઇચ્છનાર શત્રુઓ છે, તેઓ બળવાન છે; જે મેં લૂંટી લીધું ન હતું, તે મારે પાછું આપવું પડ્યું છે.

Those who hate me without cause outnumber the hairs of my head; many are those who would destroy me— my enemies for no reason. Though I did not steal, I must repay.

5 ૫ હે ઈશ્વર, તમે મારી મૂર્ખાઈ જાણો છો અને મારાં પાપો તમારાથી છુપાયેલાં નથી.

You know my folly, O God, and my guilt is not hidden from You.

6 ૬ હે સૈન્યના પ્રભુ યહોવાહ, તમારી રાહ જોનારા મારે લીધે બદનામ ન થાઓ; હે ઇઝરાયલના ઈશ્વર, મારે લીધે તમને શોધનારાઓનું અપમાન ન થાય.

May those who hope in You not be ashamed through me, O Lord GOD of Hosts; may those who seek You not be dishonored through me, O God of Israel.

7 ૭ કેમ કે તમારે લીધે મેં મહેણાં સહન કર્યાં છે. મારા મુખ પર શરમ પથરાયેલી છે.

For I have endured scorn for Your sake, and shame has covered my face.

8 ૮ હું મારા ભાઈઓને પારકા જેવો અને મારી માતાના પુત્રોને માટે પરદેશી જેવો થયો છું.

I have become a stranger to my brothers and a foreigner to my mother’s sons,

9 ૯ કારણ કે તમારા ઘરનો ઉત્સાહ મને ખાઈ જાય છે અને તમારી નિંદા કરનારાઓની નિંદા મારા પર આવી પડી છે.

because zeal for Your house has consumed me, and the insults of those who insult You have fallen on me.

10 ૧૦ જ્યારે હું રડ્યો અને ઉપવાસ કરીને મારા આત્માને લીન કર્યો, ત્યારે તેને લીધે મારી નિંદા થઈ.

I wept and fasted, but it brought me reproach.

11 ૧૧ જ્યારે મેં ટાટનાં વસ્ત્ર પહેર્યાં, ત્યારે તેઓમાં હું ઉપહાસરૂપ થયો.

I made sackcloth my clothing, and I was sport to them.

12 ૧૨ જેઓ નગરના પ્રવેશદ્વારે બેસે છે, તેઓ મારા વિષે વાતો કરે છે; છાકટાઓ મારા વિષે રાસડા ગાય છે.

Those who sit at the gate mock me, and I am the song of drunkards.

13 ૧૩ પણ, હે યહોવાહ, હું તમારી પ્રાર્થના કરું છું, માન્યકાળમાં તમારી ઘણી કૃપાએ; તમારા ઉદ્ધારની સત્યતાએ મને ઉત્તર આપો.

But my prayer to You, O LORD, is for a time of favor. In Your abundant loving devotion, O God, answer me with Your sure salvation.

14 ૧૪ મને કીચડમાંથી કાઢો અને મને ડૂબવા ન દો; જેઓ મને ધિક્કારે છે તેઓથી મને દૂર રાખો અને પાણીના ઊંડાણમાંથી મને ખેંચી કાઢો.

Rescue me from the mire and do not let me sink; deliver me from my foes and out of the deep waters.

15 ૧૫ પાણીની રેલ મને ન ડુબાડો, ઊંડાણ મને ગળી ન જાઓ. કબર મારા પર તેનું મુખ બંધ ન કરો.

Do not let the floods engulf me or the depths swallow me up; let not the Pit close its mouth over me.

16 ૧૬ હે યહોવાહ, મને જવાબ આપો, કેમ કે તમારી કૃપા ઉત્તમ છે; કેમ કે તમારી કૃપા ઘણી છે, મારી તરફ ફરો.

Answer me, O LORD, for Your loving devotion is good; turn to me in keeping with Your great compassion.

17 ૧૭ તમારું મુખ તમારા આ દાસથી છુપાવશો નહિ, કેમ કે હું સંકટમાં છું; મને જલદીથી ઉત્તર આપો.

Hide not Your face from Your servant, for I am in distress. Answer me quickly!

18 ૧૮ મારા આત્મા પાસે આવીને તેને છોડાવો; મને મારા શત્રુઓથી મુક્ત કરો.

Draw near to my soul and redeem me; ransom me because of my foes.

19 ૧૯ તમે મારી શરમ, મારું અપમાન તથા મારી નિંદા જાણો છો; મારા સર્વ શત્રુઓ તમારી આગળ છે.

You know my reproach, my shame and disgrace. All my adversaries are before You.

20 ૨૦ નિંદાએ મારું હૃદય ભાંગ્યું છે; હું મરણતોલ થયો છું; મેં કરુણા કરનારની રાહ જોઈ, પણ ત્યાં કોઈ નહોતું; મેં દિલાસો આપનારની રાહ જોઈ, પણ મને ત્યાં કોઈ મળ્યું નહિ.

Insults have broken my heart, and I am in despair. I looked for sympathy, but there was none, for comforters, but I found no one.

21 ૨૧ તેઓએ મને ખોરાકને માટે ઝેર આપ્યું છે; મને તરસ લાગતાં તેઓએ સરકો પીવડાવ્યો.

They poisoned my food with gall and gave me vinegar to quench my thirst.

22 ૨૨ તેઓનું ભોજન તેઓને માટે ફાંદારૂપ થાઓ; જ્યારે તેઓ વિચારે છે કે અમે સુરક્ષિત છીએ, ત્યારે તે ફાંદારૂપ થાઓ.

May their table become a snare; may it be a retribution and a trap.

23 ૨૩ તેઓની આંખો એવી ઝાંખી થાઓ કે તેઓ જોઈ ન શકે; અને તેઓની કમરો નિત્ય કાંપે.

May their eyes be darkened so they cannot see, and their backs be bent forever.

24 ૨૪ તેઓના ઉપર તમારો કોપ વરસાવો અને તમારો ક્રોધાવેશ તેઓને પકડી પાડો.

Pour out Your wrath upon them, and let Your burning anger overtake them.

25 ૨૫ તેઓની જગ્યા ઉજ્જડ થાઓ; તેઓના તંબુમાં કોઈ ન રહો.

May their place be deserted; let there be no one to dwell in their tents.

26 ૨૬ કારણ કે જેને તમે શિક્ષા કરી છે તેઓ તેની પાછળ પાડીને તેને પકડે છે; જેને તમે ઘાયલ કર્યો છે તેના દુ: ખની વાત કરીને તેઓ ખુશ થાય છે.

For they persecute the one You struck and recount the pain of those You wounded.

27 ૨૭ તમે તેઓના અન્યાય પર અન્યાય વધવા દો; તેઓને તમારા ન્યાયપણામાં આવવા ન દો.

Add iniquity to their iniquity; let them not share in Your righteousness.

28 ૨૮ જીવન પુસ્તકમાંથી આ લોકોનાં નામ ભૂંસી નાખો અને ન્યાયીઓની સાથે તેઓનાં નામ નોંધાય નહિ.

May they be blotted out of the Book of Life and not listed with the righteous.

29 ૨૯ પણ હું તો ગરીબ તથા દુઃખી છું; હે ઈશ્વર, તમારા દ્વારા મળતો ઉદ્ધાર મને ઊંચો કરો.

But I am in pain and distress; let Your salvation protect me, O God.

30 ૩૦ હું ગીત ગાઈને ઈશ્વરના નામનું સ્તવન કરીશ અને આભાર માનીને તેમના નામની સ્તુતિ કરીશ.

I will praise God’s name in song and exalt Him with thanksgiving.

31 ૩૧ તે સ્તુતિ બળદના કરતાં અથવા શિંગડાં તથા ખરીવાળા બળદ કરતાં પણ યહોવાહને વધારે પસંદ પડશે.

And this will please the LORD more than an ox, more than a bull with horns and hooves.

32 ૩૨ નમ્રજનો તે જોઈને આનંદ પામ્યા છે; હે ઈશ્વરને શોધનારાઓ, તમારા હૃદયો નવું જીવન પામો.

The humble will see and rejoice. You who seek God, let your hearts be revived!

33 ૩૩ કારણ કે યહોવાહ દરિદ્રીઓનું સાંભળે છે અને તે પોતાના બંદીવાનોને તુચ્છ ગણતા નથી.

For the LORD listens to the needy and does not despise His captive people.

34 ૩૪ આકાશ તથા પૃથ્વી તેમનું સ્તવન કરો, સમુદ્રો તથા તેમાંનાં સર્વ જળચર તેમની સ્તુતિ કરો.

Let heaven and earth praise Him, the seas and everything that moves in them.

35 ૩૫ કારણ કે ઈશ્વર સિયોનને ઉદ્ધાર કરશે અને યહૂદિયાના નગરોને બાંધશે; લોકો તેમાં વસશે અને તેનું વતન પામશે.

For God will save Zion and rebuild the cities of Judah, that they may dwell there and possess it.

36 ૩૬ તેમના સેવકોના વંશજો તેનો વારસો પામશે; અને જેઓ તેમના નામ પર પ્રેમ રાખે છે તેઓ તેમાં વસશે.

The descendants of His servants will inherit it, and those who love His name will settle in it.
