ગીતશાસ્ત્ર 61

1 ૧ મુખ્ય ગવૈયાને માટે; તારવાળાં વાજાં સાથે ગાવા માટે. દાઉદનું (ગીત). હે ઈશ્વર, મારો પોકાર સાંભળો; મારી પ્રાર્થના પર ધ્યાન આપો.

“For the leader of the music. To be sung upon stringed instruments. A psalm of David.” Hear my cry, O God! Attend to my prayer!

2 ૨ જ્યારે મારું હૃદય વ્યાકુળ થશે, ત્યારે પૃથ્વીને છેડેથી હું તમને અરજ કરીશ; જે ખડક પર હું મારી જાતે ચઢી શકતો નથી તે પર તમે મને લઈ જજો.

From the extremity of the land I cry unto thee in deep sorrow of heart; Lead me to the rock that is high above me!

3 ૩ કેમ કે તમે મારા આશ્રય છો, મારા શત્રુઓ સામે મારો મજબૂત બુરજ છો.

For thou art my refuge, My strong tower against the enemy.

4 ૪ હું સદાકાળ તમારા મંડપમાં રહીશ; તમારી પાંખોના આશ્રયે હું રહીશ. (સેલાહ)

I shall dwell in thy tabernacle for ever; I will seek refuge under the covert of thy wings.

5 ૫ કેમ કે, હે ઈશ્વર, મારી પ્રતિજ્ઞાઓ તમે સાંભળી છે; જેઓ તમારા નામનો આદર કરે છે તેઓને તમે વારસો આપ્યો છે.

For thou, O God! wilt hear my vows, And give me the inheritance of those who fear thy name.

6 ૬ તમે રાજાનું આયુષ્ય વધારશો; તેઓનાં વર્ષો ઘણી પેઢીઓ જેટલાં થશે.

O prolong the life of the king! May his years extend through many generations!

7 ૭ તે ઈશ્વરની સંમુખ સર્વદા રહેશે; તેઓનું રક્ષણ કરવાને તમારી કૃપા અને સત્યને તૈયાર રાખજો.

May he reign for ever before God! Grant that mercy and truth may preserve him!

8 ૮ હું નિરંતર તમારા નામની સ્તુતિ ગાઈશ કે જેથી હું દરરોજ મારી પ્રતિજ્ઞા પૂરી કરું.

So will I sing praise to thy name for ever; I will daily perform my vows.
