ગીતશાસ્ત્ર 56

1 ૧ મુખ્ય ગવૈયાને માટે; રાગ યોનાથ-એલેમ રહોકીમ. દાઉદનું મિખ્તામ. ગાથમાં પલિસ્તીઓએ તેને પકડયો તે વખતનું. હે ઈશ્વર, તમે મારા પર દયા કરો, કેમ કે માણસ તો મને ગળી જાય છે; તે આખો દિવસ લડીને મારા પર જુલમ કરે છે.

2 ૨ મારા શત્રુઓ તો આખો દિવસ મને ગળી જાય છે; કેમ કે જેઓ મારી સામે અહંકારથી લડે છે તેઓ ઘણા છે.

3 ૩ જ્યારે મને બીક લાગશે, ત્યારે હું તમારા પર ભરોસો રાખીશ.

4 ૪ હું ઈશ્વરની મદદથી તેમના વચનની પ્રશંસા કરીશ, ઈશ્વર પર મેં ભરોસો રાખ્યો છે; હું બીવાનો નથી; મનુષ્યમાત્ર મને શું કરનાર છે?

5 ૫ તેઓ આખો દિવસ મારા શબ્દોનો અનર્થ કરે છે; તેઓના વિચારો મારું ખરાબ કરવાના છે.

6 ૬ તેઓ એકઠા થાય છે, તેઓ સંતાઈ રહે છે અને તેઓ મારાં પગલાંને ધ્યાનમાં રાખે છે, તેઓ મારો જીવ લેવાની રાહ જુએ છે.

7 ૭ તેઓની દુષ્ટતાથી તેમને બચાવશો નહિ. હે ઈશ્વર, તમારા ગુસ્સાથી લોકોને નીચે પાડી નાખો.

As thei abiden my lijf, for nouyt schalt thou make hem saaf; in ire thou schalt breke togidre puplis.

8 ૮ તમે મારું ભટકવું જાણો છો અને મારાં આંસુઓ તમારી કુપ્પીમાં રાખો; શું તેઓ તમારા પુસ્તકમાં નોંધેલાં નથી?

9 ૯ જે સમયે હું વિનંતી કરું, તે સમયે મારા શત્રુઓ પાછા ફરશે; હું જાણું છું કે ઈશ્વર મારા પક્ષમાં છે.

10 ૧૦ ઈશ્વરની મદદથી હું તેમનાં વચનની સ્તુતિ કરીશ, યહોવાહની મદદથી હું તેમનાં વચનની સ્તુતિ કરીશ.

In God Y schal preise a word; in the Lord Y schal preyse a word.

11 ૧૧ ઈશ્વર પર મેં ભરોસો રાખ્યો છે; હું બીવાનો નથી; માણસ મને શું કરનાર છે?

Y schal hope in God; Y schal not drede what thing a man schal do to me.

12 ૧૨ હે ઈશ્વર, મેં તમારી સમક્ષ સંકલ્પો કરેલા છે; હું તમને આભારસ્તુતિનાં અર્પણ ચઢાવીશ.

God, thin auowis ben in me; whiche Y schal yelde heriyngis to thee.

13 ૧૩ કારણ કે તમે મારા આત્માને મરણથી બચાવ્યો છે; તમે મારા પગને લથડવાથી બચાવ્યા છે, કે જેથી હું ઈશ્વરની સમક્ષ, જીવતાઓના અજવાળામાં ચાલું.

For thou hast delyuerid my lijf fro deth, and my feet fro slidyng; that Y pleese bifore God in the liyt of hem that lyuen.
