ગીતશાસ્ત્ર 54

1 ૧ મુખ્ય ગવૈયાને માટે; તારવાળાં વાજાં સાથે ગાવાને. દાઉદનું માસ્કીલ. ઝીફીઓએ આવીને શાઉલને કહ્યું, “શું, દાઉદ અમારે ત્યાં સંતાઈ રહેલો નથી?” તે વખતનું. હે ઈશ્વર, તમારા નામે મને બચાવો અને તમારા પરાક્રમથી મારો ન્યાય કરો.

To the Chief Musician: with Stringed Instruments. A Psalm of Instruction, of David. When the Ziphites came and said unto Saul, Is not, David, hiding himself, with us? O God! by thine own Name, save me, And, by thine own strength, wilt thou vindicate me?

2 ૨ હે ઈશ્વર, મારી પ્રાર્થના સાંભળો; મારા મુખની વાતો પર કાન ધરો.

O God! Hear my prayer, Give ear to the sayings of my mouth;

3 ૩ કેમ કે વિદેશીઓ મારી વિરુદ્ધ થયા છે અને જુલમગારો મારો જીવ લેવા મથે છે; તેઓએ ઈશ્વરને પોતાની આગળ રાખ્યા નથી.

For, aliens, have risen up against me, And, men of violence, have sought my life, They have not set God before them. (Selah)

4 ૪ જુઓ, ઈશ્વર મારા મદદગાર છે; પ્રભુ જ મારા આત્માનાં આધાર છે.

Lo! God, is bringing me help, My Lord, is with the upholders of my life;

5 ૫ તે મારા શત્રુઓને દુષ્ટતાનો બદલો આપશે; તમારાં સત્ય વચનો પ્રમાણે દુષ્ટોનો નાશ કરો.

Let him turn back the mischief upon mine adversaries, In thy faithfulness, destroy them!

6 ૬ હું રાજીખુશીથી મારાં અર્પણો ચઢાવીશ; હે યહોવાહ, હું તમારા નામની સ્તુતિ કરીશ, કેમ કે તે ઉત્તમ છે.

With a freewill-offering, will I sacrifice unto thee, I will praise thy Name, O Yahweh, for it is good;

7 ૭ કેમ કે તેમણે મને સર્વ સંકટમાંથી છોડાવ્યો છે; મારી ઇચ્છા પ્રમાણે મારા શત્રુઓને થયું, તે મેં નજરે જોયું છે.

For, out of all distress, hath he rescued me, —And, upon my foes, hath, mine own eye, looked.
