ગીતશાસ્ત્ર 4
1 ૧ મુખ્ય ગવૈયાને માટે; તારવાળાં વાજાં સાથે ગાવાને. દાઉદનું ગીત. હે મને ન્યાયી ઠરાવનાર મારા ઈશ્વર, જ્યારે હું તમને વિનંતિ કરું, ત્યારે તમે મને ઉત્તર આપજો; મારી પ્રાર્થના સાંભળીને તમારી કૃપા વરસાવજો.
`To the victorie in orguns; the salm of Dauid. Whanne Y inwardli clepid, God of my riytwisnesse herde me; in tribulacioun thou hast alargid to me.
2 ૨ હે મનુષ્યો, તમે ક્યાં સુધી મારા ગૌરવનું અપમાન કરશો? તમે ક્યાં સુધી વ્યર્થતા ઇચ્છશો અને જૂઠાણું ચલાવશો? (સેલાહ)
Haue thou mercy on me; and here thou my preier. Sones of men, hou long ben ye of heuy herte? whi louen ye vanite, and seken a leesyng?
3 ૩ પણ જાણો કે જે પવિત્ર છે તેને યહોવાહે પોતાને માટે પસંદ કર્યો છે. હું જ્યારે યહોવાહને વિનંતિ કરું, ત્યારે તે મારું સાંભળશે.
And wite ye, that the Lord hath maad merueilous his hooli man; the Lord schal here me, whanne Y schal crye to hym.
Be ye wrothe, and nyle ye do synne; `and for tho thingis whiche ye seien in youre hertis and in youre beddis, be ye compunct.
Sacrifie ye `the sacrifice of riytfulnesse, and hope ye in the Lord; many seien, Who schewide goodis to vs?
Lord, the liyt of thi cheer is markid on vs; thou hast youe gladnesse in myn herte.
7 ૭ લોકોનું અનાજ તથા નવો દ્રાક્ષારસ વધવાથી તેઓને આનંદ થાય છે, તે કરતાં વધારે આનંદ તમે મારા હૃદયમાં મૂક્યો છે.
Thei ben multiplied of the fruit of whete, and of wyn; and of her oile.
8 ૮ હું શાંતિથી સૂઈ જઈશ, તેમ જ ઊંઘી પણ જઈશ, કેમ કે, હે યહોવાહ, હું એકલો હોઉં તોપણ તમે મને સલામત અને સુરક્ષિત રાખો છો.
In pees in the same thing; Y schal slepe, and take reste. For thou, Lord; hast set me syngulerli in hope.
