ગીતશાસ્ત્ર 21

1 ૧ મુખ્ય ગવૈયાને માટે. દાઉદનું ગીત. હે યહોવાહ, તમારા સામર્થ્યથી રાજા હર્ષ પામશે! તમે કરેલા ઉદ્ધારથી તે કેટલો બધો આનંદ કરશે!

Unto the end. A psalm for David. In thy strength, O Lord, the king shall joy; and in thy salvation he shall rejoice exceedingly.

2 ૨ તમે તેને તેના હૃદયની ઇચ્છા પ્રમાણે આપ્યું છે તેના હોઠની અરજીનો ઇનકાર તમે કર્યો નથી.

Thou hast given him his heart’s desire: and hast not withholden from him the will of his lips.

3 ૩ કારણ કે આશીર્વાદો લઈને તમે તેની સામે જાઓ છો; તમે ચોખ્ખા સોનાનો મુગટ તેના માથા પર મૂકો છો.

For thou hast prevented him with blessings of sweetness: thou hast set on his head a crown of precious stones.

4 ૪ તેણે તમારી પાસેથી જીવનદાન માગ્યું; તે તમે તેને આપ્યું; તમે તેને સર્વકાળ ટકે એવું આયુષ્ય આપ્યું.

He asked life of thee: and thou hast given him length of days for ever and ever.

5 ૫ તમારા મહિમાથી તેને વિજય મળે છે; તમે તેને માન તથા મહિમા બક્ષો છો.

His glory is great in thy salvation: glory and great beauty shalt thou lay upon him.

6 ૬ કારણ કે તમે તેને સદાને માટે આશીર્વાદ આપો છો; તમે તેને તમારી સમક્ષ આનંદ પમાડો છો.

For thou shalt give him to be a blessing for ever and ever: thou shalt make him joyful in gladness with thy countenance.

7 ૭ કારણ કે રાજા યહોવાહ પર ભરોસો રાખે છે; તે પરાત્પરની કૃપાથી ડગશે નહિ.

For the king hopeth in the Lord: and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.

8 ૮ તારા સર્વ શત્રુઓ તારા હાથમાં આવશે; તારો જમણો હાથ તારા દ્વ્રેષીઓને શોધી કાઢશે.

Let thy hand be found by all thy enemies: let thy right hand find out all them that hate thee.

9 ૯ તું તારા ગુસ્સાના સમયે તેઓને બળતી ભઠ્ઠી જેવા કરી દેશે. યહોવાહ પોતાના કોપથી તેઓને ગળી જશે અને અગ્નિ તેઓને ભસ્મ કરી નાખશે.

Thou shalt make them as an oven of fire, in the time of thy anger: the Lord shall trouble them in his wrath, and fire shall devour them.

10 ૧૦ તમે પૃથ્વી પરના તેઓના પરિવારોનો વિનાશ કરશો; મનુષ્યોમાંથી તેમના વંશજો નાશ પામશે.

Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth: and their seed from among the children of men.

11 ૧૧ કારણ કે તેઓએ તમારી વિરુદ્ધ દુષ્ટતા કરવાનું ધાર્યું છે; જેને તેઓ અમલમાં લાવી શકતા નથી, એવી યુક્તિ તેઓએ કલ્પી છે.

For they have intended evils against thee: they have devised counsels which they have not been able to establish.

12 ૧૨ તમે તમારી પાછળથી તેઓનાં મુખ સામે તૈયારી કરશો, ત્યારે તેઓને પાછા હઠી જવું પડશે.

For thou shalt make them turn their back: in thy remnants thou shalt prepare their face.

13 ૧૩ હે યહોવાહ, તમે પોતાને સામર્થ્યે ઊંચા થાઓ; અમે તમારા પરાક્રમનાં સ્તોત્ર ગાઈને સ્તવન કરીશું.

Be thou exalted, O Lord, in thy own strength: we will sing and praise thy power.
