ગીતશાસ્ત્ર 135

1 ૧ યહોવાહની સ્તુતિ કરો. યહોવાહના નામની સ્તુતિ કરો. હે યહોવાહના સેવકો, તમે તેમની સ્તુતિ કરો.

Halleluyah ·praise Yah·! Praise Adonai’s name! Praise him, you servants of Adonai,

2 ૨ યહોવાહના ઘરમાં, આપણા ઈશ્વરના ઘરના, આંગણાંમાં ઊભા રહેનારા તેમની સ્તુતિ કરો.

you who stand in Adonai’s house, in the courts of our God’s house.

3 ૩ યહોવાહની સ્તુતિ કરો, કારણ કે તે ઉત્તમ છે; તેમના નામની સ્તુતિ કરો, કારણ કે તેમ કરવું આનંદદાયક છે.

Halleluyah ·praise Yah·, for Adonai is good. Sing zahmar ·musical praise· to his name, for that is pleasant.

4 ૪ કેમ કે યહોવાહે પોતાને માટે યાકૂબને પસંદ કર્યો છે, ઇઝરાયલ ખાસ તેમની સંપત્તિ છે.

For Yah has chosen Jacob [Supplanter] for himself; Israel [God prevails] for his own segulah ·special treasure·.

5 ૫ હું જાણું છું કે યહોવાહ મહાન છે, આપણા પ્રભુ સર્વ દેવો કરતાં તે મહાન છે.

For I know that Adonai is great, that our Lord is above all deities.

6 ૬ આકાશમાં તથા પૃથ્વી પર, સમુદ્રોમાં અને સર્વ મહાસાગરના ઊંડાણોમાં યહોવાહને જે જે સારું લાગ્યું, તે સર્વ તેમણે કર્યું છે.

Whatever Adonai pleased, that he has done, in heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps;

7 ૭ તે પાણીની વરાળને ઊંચે લઈ જઈ તેનાં વાદળાં ચઢાવે છે, તે વીજળી મોકલી વરસાદને વરસાવે છે અને પોતાના ખજાનામાંથી તે વાયુને બહાર કાઢે છે.

who causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth; who makes lightnings with the rain; who brings the wind out of his treasuries;

8 ૮ મિસરમાં તેમણે માણસોના તથા પશુઓના પ્રથમજનિતોનો નાશ કર્યો.

Who struck the firstborn of Egypt [Abode of slavery], both of man and animal;

9 ૯ તેમણે ફારુન અને તેના સેવકોની વિરુદ્ધ પોતાના ચિહ્નો તથા ચમત્કારો સમગ્ર મિસરમાં મોકલ્યાં.

Who sent signs and wonders into the middle of you, Egypt [Abode of slavery], on Pharaoh, and on all his servants;

10 ૧૦ તેમણે ઘણી પ્રજાઓ પર હુમલો કર્યો અને પરાક્રમી રાજાઓને મારી નાખ્યા,

who struck many nations, and killed mighty kings,

11 ૧૧ અમોરીઓના રાજા સીહોનને અને બાશાનના રાજા ઓગને અને કનાનના સર્વ રાજ્યોને તેમણે માર્યાં.

Sihon king of the Amorites [Descendants of Talkers], Og king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan [Humbled],

12 ૧૨ તેમના દેશને તેમણે પોતાના લોક ઇઝરાયલને વારસામાં આપ્યો.

and gave their land for a heritage, a heritage to Israel [God prevails], his people.

13 ૧૩ હે યહોવાહ, તમારું નામ અનંતકાળ ટકનાર છે, હે યહોવાહ, તમારું સ્મરણ પેઢી દરપેઢી ટકી રહેનાર છે.

Your name, Adonai, endures forever; your renown, Adonai, throughout all generations.

14 ૧૪ કેમ કે યહોવાહ પોતાના લોકોનો ન્યાય કરશે અને તે પોતાના સેવકો પ્રત્યે દયાળુ થશે.

For Adonai will judge his people, and have compassion on his servants.

15 ૧૫ વિદેશીઓની મૂર્તિઓ તો સોનાચાંદીની છે, તેઓ માણસોના હાથથી જ બનેલી છે.

The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.

16 ૧૬ તે મૂર્તિઓને મુખ છે, પણ તેઓ બોલતી નથી; તેઓને આંખો છે, પણ તેઓ જોઈ શકતી નથી.

They have mouths, but they can’t speak. They have eyes, but they can’t see.

17 ૧૭ તેઓને કાન છે, પણ તેઓ સાંભળતી નથી, તેઓનાં મુખમાં શ્વાસ નથી.

They have ears, but they can’t hear; neither is there any breath in their mouths.

18 ૧૮ જેઓ તેને બનાવે છે તેઓ પણ તેના જેવા જ થશે, જેઓ તેમના પર ભરોસો રાખે છે તેઓ પણ તેના જેવા જ થશે.

Those who make them will be like them; yes, everyone who trusts in them.

19 ૧૯ હે ઇઝરાયલના વંશજો, યહોવાહની સ્તુતિ કરો; હે હારુનના વંશજો, યહોવાહની સ્તુતિ કરો.

House of Israel [God prevails], praise Adonai! House of Aaron [Light-bringer], praise Adonai!

20 ૨૦ હે લેવીના વંશજો, યહોવાહની સ્તુતિ કરો; હે યહોવાહના ભક્તો, યહોવાહની સ્તુતિ કરો.

House of Levi [United with], praise Adonai! You who fear Adonai, praise Adonai!

21 ૨૧ સિયોનમાં યહોવાહની સ્તુતિ કરો, જે યરુશાલેમમાં રહે છે. તે યહોવાહની સ્તુતિ કરો.
