ગીતશાસ્ત્ર 132

1 ૧ ચઢવાનું ગીત. હે યહોવાહ, જે સર્વ કષ્ટો દાઉદે સહન કર્યા તે તેના લાભમાં સંભારો.

“A psalm of the steps, or the goings up.” O LORD! remember David, And all his affliction!

2 ૨ તેણે યહોવાહની આગળ કેવા સમ ખાધા, યાકૂબના સમર્થ ઈશ્વરની આગળ તેણે કેવી પ્રતિજ્ઞા લીધી, તેનું સ્મરણ કરો.

How he sware to Jehovah, And vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob:

3 ૩ તેણે કહ્યું, “જ્યાં સુધી હું યહોવાહને માટે ઘર ન મેળવું; અને યાકૂબના સમર્થ ઈશ્વરને માટે નિવાસસ્થાન તૈયાર ન કરું,

“I will not go into my house, Nor lie down on my bed,

4 ૪ ત્યાં સુધી હું મારા તંબુમાં નહિ આવું અને મારા પલંગ પર નહિ સૂઉં.

I will not give sleep to my eyes, Nor slumber to my eyelids,

5 ૫ વળી મારી આંખોને ઊંઘ અને મારા પોપચાંને નિદ્રા આવવા નહિ દઉં.”

Until I find a place for Jehovah, A habitation for the Mighty One of Jacob.”

6 ૬ જુઓ, અમે તેના વિષે એફ્રાથાહમાં સાંભળ્યું; અમને તે યેરામના ખેતરોમાં મળ્યો.

Behold, we heard of it at Ephratah; We found it in the fields of the forest.

7 ૭ ચાલો આપણે ઈશ્વરના મુલાકાતમંડપમાં જઈએ; આપણે તેમના પાયાસનની આગળ તેમની સ્તુતિ કરીએ.

Let us go into his habitation; Let us worship at his footstool!

8 ૮ હે યહોવાહ, તમે તમારા વિશ્રામસ્થાનમાં આવવાને ઊઠો.

Arise, O LORD! into thy rest, Thou, and the ark of thy strength!

9 ૯ તમારા યાજકો ન્યાયીપણાથી આશીર્વાદિત થાઓ; તમારા વિશ્વાસુઓ હર્ષનાદ કરો.

Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness, And thy holy ones shout for joy!

10 ૧૦ તમારા સેવક દાઉદની ખાતર તમારા અભિષિક્ત રાજાનો અસ્વીકાર ન કરો.

For the sake of thy servant David, Reject not the prayer of thine anointed!

11 ૧૧ યહોવાહે દાઉદની સાથે સત્ય પ્રતિજ્ઞા કરી; “હું તારા રાજ્યાસન પર તારા વંશજોને બેસાડીશ; તેથી તે પ્રતિજ્ઞાભંગ કરશે નહિ.

Jehovah hath sworn in truth unto David, And he will not depart from it: “Of the fruit of thy body will I place upon the throne for thee.

12 ૧૨ જો તારા પુત્રો મારો કરાર અને જે નિયમો હું તેઓને શીખવું, તે પાળે; તો તેઓના સંતાનો પણ તારા રાજ્યાસને સદાકાળ બેસશે.”

If thy children keep my covenant, And my statutes, which I teach them, Their children also throughout all ages Shall sit upon thy throne.”

13 ૧૩ હે યહોવાહ, તમે સિયોનને પસંદ કર્યું છે; તેમણે પોતાના નિવાસસ્થાનને માટે તેને ઇચ્છ્યું છે.

For Jehovah hath chosen Zion; He hath desired it as his dwelling-place.

14 ૧૪ આ મારું સદાકાળનું વિશ્રામસ્થાન છે; હું અહીં જ રહીશ, કેમ કે મેં તેને ઇચ્છ્યું છે.

“This is my resting-place for ever; Here will I dwell, for I have chosen it.

15 ૧૫ હું ચોક્કસ તેની સમૃદ્ધિને આશીર્વાદ આપીશ; હું રોટલીથી તેના કંગાલોને તૃપ્ત કરીશ.

I will abundantly bless her provision; I will satisfy her poor with bread.

16 ૧૬ હું તેના યાજકોને ઉદ્ધારનો પોષાક પહેરાવીશ; તેના ભક્તો આનંદથી જયજયકાર કરશે.

I will also clothe her priests with salvation, And her holy ones shall shout aloud for joy.

17 ૧૭ ત્યાં હું દાઉદને માટે શિંગ ઊભુ કરીશ; ત્યાં મેં મારા અભિષિક્તને માટે દીવો તૈયાર કર્યો છે.

There will I cause to spring forth a horn for David; I have prepared a light for mine anointed.

18 ૧૮ તેના શત્રુઓને હું શરમથી ઢાંકી દઈશ, પણ તેનો મુગટ પ્રકાશશે.

His enemies will I clothe with shame, And the crown shall glitter upon his head.”
