ગીતશાસ્ત્ર 122

1 ૧ ચઢવાનું ગીત; દાઉદનું. જ્યારે તેઓએ મને કહ્યું કે, “ચાલો આપણે યહોવાહના ઘરમાં જઈએ,” ત્યારે હું આનંદ પામ્યો.

“A song of the degrees by David.” I was rejoiced when they said unto me, Unto the house of the Lord let us go.

2 ૨ હે યરુશાલેમ, તારા દ્વારોમાં અમે ઊભા રહ્યા હતા.

Our feet are now standing within thy gates, O Jerusalem!

3 ૩ યરુશાલેમ તો હારબંધ ઇમારતોવાળા નગરના જેવું બાંધેલું છે.

Jerusalem, which art built as a city wherein all associate together.

4 ૪ ત્યાં કુળો ચઢે છે, યહોવાહનાં કુળો, ઇઝરાયલને સાક્ષીરૂપ થવાને અર્થે, યહોવાહના નામનો આભાર માનવાને માટે કુળો ચઢે છે.

For thither go up the tribes of the Lord, as a testimony for Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the Lord.

5 ૫ કેમ કે ત્યાં ઇનસાફનાં રાજ્યાસનો દાઉદના કુટુંબના રાજ્યાસનો સ્થાપવામાં આવેલાં છે.

For there are placed chairs for [giving] judgment, the chairs for the house of David.—

6 ૬ યરુશાલેમની શાંતિને માટે પ્રાર્થના કરો! જેઓ તને ચાહે છે તેને શાંતિ મળો.

Pray ye for the peace of Jerusalem; may those that love thee prosper.

7 ૭ તારા કોટની અંદર શાંતિ અને તારા મહેલોની અંદર કુશળતા થાઓ.

May there be peace within thy walls, prosperity within thy palaces,

8 ૮ મારા ભાઈઓ તથા મારા મિત્રોની ખાતર હવે હું બોલીશ, “તારામાં શાંતિ થાઓ.”

For the sake of my brethren and my friends, let me now speak, Peace be within thee.

9 ૯ આપણા ઈશ્વર યહોવાહના ઘરને અર્થે હું તેની ઉત્તમતાને લીધે પ્રાર્થના કરીશ.

For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, will I seek thy good.
