ગીતશાસ્ત્ર 107

1 ૧ યહોવાહનો આભાર માનો, કારણ કે તે ઉત્તમ છે અને તેમની કૃપા સર્વકાળ ટકે છે.

BOOK V 'O give thanks unto the LORD, for He is good, for His mercy endureth for ever.'

2 ૨ જેઓ યહોવાહના છોડાવેલા છે તેઓએ આ પ્રમાણે બોલવું, એટલે જેઓને તેમણે શત્રુઓના હાથમાંથી છોડાવ્યા તેઓએ.

So let the redeemed of the LORD say, whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the adversary;

3 ૩ તેમણે તેઓને દેશવિદેશથી એટલે પૂર્વથી તથા પશ્ચિમથી, ઉત્તરથી તથા દક્ષિણથી એકત્ર કર્યા.

And gathered them out of the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the sea.

4 ૪ અરણ્યમાં તેઓ ઉજ્જડ માર્ગે ભટક્યા અને તેઓને રહેવા માટે કોઈ નગર મળ્યું નહિ.

They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way; they found no city of habitation.

5 ૫ તેઓ ભૂખ્યા અને તરસ્યા હતા; તેઓના પ્રાણ આકુળવ્યાકુળ થઈ ગયા.

Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.

6 ૬ પછી તેઓએ પોતાના સંકટમાં યહોવાહને પોકાર્યાં અને તેમણે તેઓને દુઃખમાંથી છોડાવ્યા.

Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and He delivered them out of their distresses.

7 ૭ તેમણે તેઓને સીધે માર્ગે દોર્યા કે જેથી તેઓ વસવાલાયક નગરમાં જાય અને ત્યાં વસવાટ કરે.

And He led them by a straight way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

8 ૮ તેમની કૃપા તથા માનવજાત માટેનાં તેમનાં આશ્ચર્યકારક કૃત્યો ધ્યાનમાં રાખીને લોકો યહોવાહની સ્તુતિ કરે, તો કેવું સારું!

Let them give thanks unto the LORD for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!

9 ૯ કારણ કે તે તરસ્યાઓને સંતોષ પમાડે છે અને ભૂખ્યાઓને ઉત્તમ વાનાંથી તૃપ્ત કરે છે.

For He hath satisfied the longing soul, and the hungry soul He hath filled with good.

10 ૧૦ કેટલાક અંધકાર તથા મરણછાયામાં બેઠેલા હતા, આપત્તિમાં તથા બેડીઓમાં સપડાયેલા હતા.

Such as sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron —

11 ૧૧ કેમ કે તેઓએ ઈશ્વરની વિરુદ્ધ બળવો કર્યા, પરાત્પર ઈશ્વરની સૂચનાઓનો ઇનકાર કર્યો.

Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the Most High.

12 ૧૨ તેઓનાં હૃદયો તેમણે કષ્ટથી નમ્ર કર્યાં; તેઓ લથડી પડ્યા અને તેઓને સહાય કરનાર કોઈ ન હતું.

Therefore He humbled their heart with travail, they stumbled, and there was none to help —

13 ૧૩ પછી તેઓએ પોતાના સંકટમાં યહોવાહને પોકાર્યા અને તેમણે તેઓને દુઃખમાંથી ઉગાર્યા.

They cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses.

14 ૧૪ તે તેઓને અંધકાર અને મરણછાયામાંથી બહાર લાવ્યા અને તેમણે તેઓનાં બંધન તોડી નાખ્યાં.

He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bands in sunder.

15 ૧૫ તેમની કૃપા તથા માનવજાત માટેના તેમનાં આશ્ચર્યકારક કૃત્યો ધ્યાનમાં રાખીને લોકો યહોવાહની સ્તુતિ કરે તો કેવું સારું!

Let them give thanks unto the LORD for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!

16 ૧૬ કેમ કે તેમણે પિત્તળના દરવાજા ભાંગી નાખ્યા અને તેઓની લોખંડની ભૂંગળો તોડી નાખી.

For He hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.

17 ૧૭ તેઓ પોતાના બળવાખોર માર્ગોમાં મૂર્ખ હતા તથા પોતાના પાપથી સંકટમાં આવી પડ્યા.

Crazed because of the way of their transgression, and afflicted because of their iniquities —

18 ૧૮ તેઓના જીવો સર્વ પ્રકારના ખોરાકથી કંટાળી જાય છે અને તેઓ મરણ દ્વાર સુધી આવી પહોંચે છે.

Their soul abhorred all manner of food, and they drew near unto the gates of death —

19 ૧૯ પછી તેઓ પોતાના સંકટમાં યહોવાહને પોકારે છે અને તે તેઓને દુઃખમાંથી ઉગારે છે.

They cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses;

20 ૨૦ તેઓ પોતાનું વચન મોકલીને તેઓને સાજા કરે છે અને તેમણે તેઓને દુર્દશામાંથી છોડાવ્યા છે.

He sent His word, and healed them, and delivered them from their graves.

21 ૨૧ આ તેમની કૃપા તથા માનવજાત માટેનાં તેમનાં આશ્ચર્યકારક કૃત્યો ધ્યાનમાં રાખીને માણસો યહોવાહની સ્તુતિ કરે તો કેવું સારું!

Let them give thanks unto the LORD for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!

22 ૨૨ તેઓને આભારસ્તુતિનાં અર્પણો ચઢાવવા દો અને તેઓનાં કામ ગીતોથી પ્રગટ કરે.

And let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with singing.

23 ૨૩ જેઓ વહાણમાં બેસીને સમુદ્રમાં ઊતરે છે અને સમુદ્રપાર વ્યાપાર કરે છે.

They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters —

24 ૨૪ તેઓ યહોવાહનાં કાર્યો તથા સમુદ્ર પરનાં તેમનાં આશ્ચર્યકારક કૃત્યો જુએ છે.

These saw the works of the LORD, and His wonders in the deep;

25 ૨૫ કેમ કે તે આજ્ઞા આપે છે અને તોફાની પવનો ચડી આવે છે; તેથી સમુદ્રના મોજાંઓ ઊંચાં ઊછળે છે.

For He commanded, and raised the stormy wind, which lifted up the waves thereof;

26 ૨૬ મોજાં આકાશ સુધી ચઢે છે, પછી પાછા ઊંડાણમાં ઊતરે છે. તેઓના પ્રાણ ત્રાસથી આકુળવ્યાકુળ થાય છે.

They mounted up to the heaven, they went down to the deeps; their soul melted away because of trouble;

27 ૨૭ તેઓ પીધેલાની જેમ આમતેમ ડોલતા લથડે છે અને તેઓની બુદ્ધિ બહેર મારી જાય છે.

They reeled to and fro, and staggered like a drunken man, and all their wisdom was swallowed up —

28 ૨૮ પછી તેઓ પોતાના સંકટમાં યહોવાહને પોકારે છે અને તે તેઓને દુઃખમાંથી છોડાવે છે.

They cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and He brought them out of their distresses.

29 ૨૯ તેમણે તોફાનને શાંત કર્યાં અને મોજાં શાંત થયાં.

He made the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof were still.

30 ૩૦ પછી શાંતિ થવાથી તેઓને આનંદ થાય છે અને તેઓને તેમની પસંદગીના બંદરે દોરી જાય છે.

Then were they glad because they were quiet, and He led them unto their desired haven.

31 ૩૧ આ તેમની કૃપા તથા માનવજાતને માટેનાં તેમનાં આશ્ચર્યકારક કૃત્યો ધ્યાનમાં રાખીને માણસો યહોવાહની સ્તુતિ કરે તો કેવું સારું!

Let them give thanks unto the LORD for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!

32 ૩૨ લોકોની સભામાં તેમને મોટા મનાવો અને વડીલોની સભામાં તેમની સ્તુતિ કરો.

Let them exalt Him also in the assembly of the people, and praise Him in the seat of the elders.

33 ૩૩ તે નદીઓને સ્થાને અરણ્ય, પાણીના ઝરાઓને સ્થાને કોરી ભૂમિ,

He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and watersprings into a thirsty ground;

34 ૩૪ અને ત્યાં રહેતા લોકોની દુષ્ટતાને કારણે ફળદ્રુપ ભૂમિને ખારવાળી જમીન બનાવે છે.

A fruitful land into a salt waste, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.

35 ૩૫ તે અરણ્યને સ્થાને સરોવર અને કોરી ભૂમિને સ્થાને ઝરાઓ કરી નાખે છે.

He turneth a wilderness into a pool of water, and a dry land into watersprings.

36 ૩૬ તેમાં તે ભૂખ્યાજનોને વસાવે છે અને તેઓ પોતાને રહેવાને માટે નગર બાંધે છે.

And there He maketh the hungry to dwell, and they establish a city of habitation;

37 ૩૭ તેઓ ખેતરમાં વાવેતર કરે છે; અને દ્રાક્ષવાડીઓમાં રોપણી કરીને તેનાં ફળની ઊપજ મેળવે છે.

And sow fields, and plant vineyards, which yield fruits of increase.

38 ૩૮ તે તેઓને આશીર્વાદ આપે છે, તેથી તેમની પુષ્કળ વૃદ્ધિ થાય છે. તે તેઓનાં જાનવરોને ઓછા થવા દેતા નથી.

He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly, and suffereth not their cattle to decrease.

39 ૩૯ તેઓના જુલમ, વિપત્તિ તથા શોક પાછા ઘટાડવામાં આવે છે અને તેઓને નીચા પાડવામાં આવે છે.

Again, they are minished and dwindle away through oppression of evil and sorrow.

40 ૪૦ તે શત્રુઓના સરદારો પર અપમાન લાવે છે અને માર્ગ વિનાના અરણ્યમાં તેઓને રખડાવે છે.

He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the waste, where there is no way.

41 ૪૧ પણ તે જરૂરિયાતમંદોને સંકટમાંથી છોડાવીને તેઓનું રક્ષણ કરે છે અને ટોળાંની જેમ તેઓના કુટુંબની સંભાળ લે છે.

Yet setteth He the needy on high from affliction, and maketh his families like a flock.

42 ૪૨ તે જોઈને ન્યાયીઓ આનંદ પામશે અને સઘળા અન્યાયીઓનાં મુખ બંધ થશે.

The upright see it, and are glad; and all iniquity stoppeth her mouth.

43 ૪૩ જે કોઈ જ્ઞાની હશે તે આ વાતો ધ્યાનમાં લેશે અને યહોવાહની કૃપા વિષે મનન કરશે.

Whoso is wise, let him observe these things, and let them consider the mercies of the LORD.
