And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying,
2 ૨ “ઇઝરાયલી લોકોને કહે, ‘પૃથ્વી પરનાં સર્વ પશુઓમાંથી જે પશુઓ તમારે ખાવા માટે ઉપયોગમાં લેવા તે આ છે.
Speak you to the sons of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which you shall eat of all beasts that are upon the earth.
Every beast parting the hoof and making divisions of two claws, and chewing the cud amongst beasts, these you shall eat.
4 ૪ તોપણ, કેટલાક પશુઓની માત્ર ખરી ફાટવાળી હોય અથવા જે માત્ર વાગોળતાં હોય તે પશુઓ તમારે ખાવાં જોઈએ નહિ, જેમ કે ઊંટ, કેમ કે તે વાગોળે છે પણ તેની ખરી ફાટેલી નથી. તેથી ઊંટ તમારે માટે અશુદ્ધ છે.
But of these you shall not eat, of those that chew the cud, and of those that part the hoofs, and divide claws; the camel, because it chews the cud, but does not divide the hoof, this is unclean to you.
And the rabbit, because it chews the cud, but does not divide the hoof, this is unclean to you.
And the hare, because it does not chew the cud, and does not divide the hoof, this is unclean to you.
And the swine, because this [animal] divides the hoof, and makes claws of the hoof, and it does not chew the cud, is unclean to you.
8 ૮ તમારે તેઓમાંના કોઈનું માંસ ખાવું નહિ કે તેઓના મૃતદેહનો સ્પર્શ કરવો નહિ. તેઓ તમારે માટે અશુદ્ધ છે.
You shall not eat of their flesh, and you shall not touch their carcases; these are unclean to you.
9 ૯ જળચરોમાંથી તમે આટલાં ખાઈ શકો: પાણીમાં જે બધાંને પંખ તથા ભિંગડાં હોય તેઓને તમારે ખાવા, પછી તે સમુદ્રોમાંનાં હોય કે નદીઓમાંનાં હોય.
And these [are] what you shall eat of all that are in the waters: all things that have fins and scales in the waters, and in the seas, and in the brooks, these you shall eat.
10 ૧૦ પણ સમુદ્રોમાંનાં કે નદીઓમાંનાં જે બધાં જળચરો પાણીમાં તરે છે તેમાંના તથા સર્વ જળચરોમાંનાં જે સર્વને પંખ તથા ભિંગડાં હોતા નથી, તેઓ તમને નિષેધાત્મક છે.
And all things which have not fins or scales in the water, or in the seas, and in the brooks, of all which the waters produce, and of every soul living in the water, are an abomination; and they shall be abominations to you.
11 ૧૧ કારણ કે તેઓ ઘૃણાપાત્ર છે માટે, તમારે તેઓનું માંસ ખાવું જોઈએ નહિ; તેમના મૃત દેહ પણ ઘૃણાપાત્ર છે.
You shall not eat of their flesh, and you shall abhor their carcases.
And all things that have not fins or scales of those that are in the waters, these are an abomination to you.
And these are the things which you shall abhor of birds, and they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle and the ossifrage, and the sea-eagle.
And the vulture, and the kite, and the like to it;
and the sparrow, and the owl, and the cormorant, and the like to it:
and every raven, and the birds like it, and the hawk and his like,
and the night-raven and the cormorant and the stork,
and the red-bill, and the pelican, and swan,
and the heron, and the lapwing, and the like to it, and the hoopoe and the bat.
And all winged creatures that creep, which go upon four feet, are abominations to you.
21 ૨૧ તોપણ પગે ચાલનાર પાંખવાળાં જંતુઓ, જેઓને પગ ઉપરાંત જમીન ઉપર કૂદવાને પગ હોય છે, તેઓમાંથી આ તમે ખાઈ શકો છો.
But these you shall eat of the creeping winged animals, which go upon four feet, which have legs above their feet, to leap with on the earth.
And these of them you shall eat: the caterpillar and his like, and the attacus and his like, and the cantharus and his like, and the locust and his like.
Every creeping thing from amongst the birds, which has four feet, is an abomination to you.
And by these you shall be defiled; every one that touches their carcases shall be unclean till the evening.
25 ૨૫ અને જે કોઈ તેઓના મૃતદેહને ઉપાડી લે તેણે પોતાના વસ્ત્રો ધોઈ નાખવા અને તે સાંજ સુધી અશુદ્ધ ગણાય.
And every one that takes of their dead bodies shall wash his garments, and shall be unclean till the evening.
26 ૨૬ જે પશુઓની ખરી ફાટેલી હોય પણ તેના બરાબર બે સરખા ભાગ થતા ન હોય અથવા જે પશુઓ વાગોળતાં ના હોય, તે તમને અશુદ્ધ છે. જે કોઈ તેમનો સ્પર્શ કરે તે અશુદ્ધ ગણાય.
And whichever amongst the beasts divides the hoof and makes claws, and does not chew the cud, shall be unclean to you; every one that touches their dead bodies shall be unclean till evening.
27 ૨૭ ચાર પગવાળાં જાનવરોમાંનું જે જે પંજા વડે ચાલતું હોય તે તમારે માટે અશુદ્ધ છે. જે કોઈ તેઓના મૃતદેહનો સ્પર્શ કરે તે સાંજ સુધી અશુદ્ધ ગણાય.
And every one amongst all the wild beasts that moves upon its fore feet, which goes on all four, is unclean to you; every one that touches their dead bodies shall be unclean till evening.
28 ૨૮ અને જે કોઈ તેમના મૃતદેહને ઉપાડે, તો તેણે પોતાના વસ્ત્રો ધોઈ નાખવાં અને તે સાંજ સુધી અશુદ્ધ ગણાય. આ પશુઓ તમારે માટે અશુદ્ધ છે.
And he that takes of their dead bodies shall wash his garments, and shall be unclean till evening: these are unclean to you.
And these [are] unclean to you of reptiles upon the earth, the weasel, and the mouse, and the lizard,
the ferret, and the chameleon, and the evet, and the newt, and the mole.
31 ૩૧ સર્વ પેટે ચાલનારાં સર્પટિયાંઓમાં આટલાં તમારે માટે અશુદ્ધ છે. જે કોઈ તેઓના મૃતદેહનો સ્પર્શ કરે તો તે સાંજ સુધી અશુદ્ધ ગણાય.
These are unclean to you of all the reptiles which are on the earth; every one who touches their carcases shall be unclean till evening.
32 ૩૨ અને જો તેઓમાંથી કોઈ પણ મરી જાય અને કોઈપણ વસ્તુ ઉપર તેમનું શબ પડે તો તે વસ્તુ અશુદ્ધ ગણાય, તે કોઈ પણ લાકડાની, વસ્ત્રોની, ચામડાની અથવા તાટની બનેલી હોય, કોઈપણ કામમાં વપરાતું વાસણ હોય, તો તેને પાણીમાં નાખવું; તે સાંજ સુધી અશુદ્ધ ગણાય. પછી તે શુદ્ધ ગણાશે.
And on whatever one of their dead bodies shall fall it shall be unclean; whatever wooden vessel, or garment, or skin, or sack it may be, every vessel in which work should be done, shall be dipped in water, and shall be unclean till evening; and [then] it shall be clean.
33 ૩૩ જો આમાંનું કોઈ પણ સર્પટિયું કોઈપણ માટીનાં વાસણમાં પડે, તો તેમાં જે કંઈ ભરેલું હોય તે અશુદ્ધ ગણાય અને તેને તમારે ભાંગી નાંખવું.
And every earthen vessel into which one of these things shall fall, whatever is inside it, shall be unclean, and it shall be broken.
34 ૩૪ જે કોઈએ ખાવાનાં પદાર્થ પર એવાં માટલામાંથી પાણી રેડ્યું હોય તો તે અશુદ્ધ ગણાય. અશુદ્ધ થયેલાં વાસણોમાં કોઈ પણ પીણું હોય તો તે અશુદ્ધ ગણાય.
And all food that is eaten, on which water shall come [from such a vessel], shall be unclean; and every beverage which is drunk in any [such] vessel, shall be unclean.
35 ૩૫ જે કોઈ વસ્તુ પર તેઓનો મૃતદેહ પડે તો તે અશુદ્ધ ગણાય. તે ભઠ્ઠી કે ખાવા બનાવવાનું વાસણ હોય તો તેને ભાંગી નાખવું. તે અશુદ્ધ છે અને તે તમારે માટે અશુદ્ધ ગણાય.
And every thing on which there shall fall of their dead bodies shall be unclean; ovens and stands for jars shall be broken down: these are unclean, and they shall be unclean to you.
36 ૩૬ જો તેઓ પાણીના ટાંકામાં, ઝરણાંમાં કે જ્યાં પીવાના પાણીનો સંગ્રહ થાય છે તેમાં પડે તો તે પાણી શુદ્ધ ગણાય. પણ જો કોઈ પાણીની અંદરના શબનો સ્પર્શ કરે તો તે અશુદ્ધ ગણાય.
Only [if the water be] of fountains of water, or a pool, or confluence of water, it shall be clean; but he that touches their carcases shall be unclean.
And if one of their carcases should fall upon any sowing seed which shall be sown, it shall be clean.
38 ૩૮ પણ જો તે બિયારણ પર પાણી છાટેલું હોય અને તેમના શબનો કોઈ ભાગ તેના પર પડે, તો તે તમારે માટે અશુદ્ધ છે.
But if water be poured on any seed, and one of their dead bodies fall upon it, it is unclean to you.
39 ૩૯ જે પશુઓ ખાવાની તમને છૂટ આપવામાં આવી છે એવું પશુ જો મરી જાય, તો તેના મૃતદેહનો જે કોઈ સ્પર્શ કરે તો તે સાંજ સુધી અશુદ્ધ ગણાય.
And if one of the cattle die, which it is lawful for you to eat, he that touches their carcases shall be unclean till evening.
40 ૪૦ અને જે કોઈ એ મૃતદેહમાંથી તેનું માંસ ખાય તો તે પોતાના વસ્ત્રોને ધોઈ નાખે અને તે સાંજ સુધી અશુદ્ધ ગણાય. અને જે કોઈ તેના મૃતદેહને ઊંચકે તો તે પોતાના વસ્ત્રો ધોઈ નાખે અને તે સાંજ સુધી અશુદ્ધ ગણાય.
And he that eats of their carcases shall wash his garments, and be unclean till evening; and he that carries any of their carcases shall wash his garments, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean till evening.
And every reptile that creeps on the earth, this shall be an abomination to you; it shall not be eaten.
42 ૪૨ સર્વ પેટે ચાલનારાં અને ચાર પગે ચાલનારાં અથવા વધારે પગોવાળાં, જમીન પર પેટે ચાલનારાં સર્વ પણ તમારે ખાવા નહિ, કારણ કે તે નિષેધાત્મક છે.
And every [animal] that creeps on its belly, and every one that goes on four [feet] continually, which abounds with feet amongst all the reptiles creeping upon the earth—you shall not eat it, for it is an abomination to you.
43 ૪૩ કોઈ પણ પેટે ચાલનારાં સર્પટિયાંઓથી તમે પોતાને અશુદ્ધ ન કરો; તેઓથી પોતાને અશુદ્ધ કરીને અભડાઓ નહિ.
And you shall not defile your souls with any of the reptiles that creep upon the earth, and you shall not be polluted with them, and you shall not be unclean by them.
44 ૪૪ કેમ કે હું યહોવાહ તમારો ઈશ્વર છું. એ માટે તમે પોતાને શુદ્ધ કરો અને તમે પવિત્ર થાઓ કેમ કે હું પવિત્ર છું. જમીન પર પેટે ચાલનારાં કોઈ પણ સર્પટિયાંથી પોતાને અશુદ્ધ ન કરો.
For I am the Lord your God; and you shall be sanctified, and you shall be holy, because I the Lord your God am holy; and you shall not defile your souls with any of the reptiles creeping upon the earth.
45 ૪૫ કેમ કે હું યહોવાહ છું, તમારો ઈશ્વર થવા માટે જે તમને મિસર દેશમાંથી બહાર કાઢી લાવ્યો. માટે તમે પવિત્ર થાઓ, કેમ કે હું પવિત્ર છું.
For I am the Lord who brought you up out of the land of Egypt to be your God; and you shall be holy, for I the Lord am holy.
46 ૪૬ આ પશુઓ, પક્ષીઓ, દરેક જીવજંતુઓ જે પાણીમાં તરે છે અને દરેક જે પેટે ચાલે છે, તેઓ સંબંધી આ નિયમ છે.
This is the law concerning beasts and birds and every living creature moving in the water, and every living creature creeping on the earth;
to distinguish between the unclean and the clean; and between those that bring forth alive, such as should be eaten, and those that bring forth alive, such as should not be eaten.
