ન્યાયાધીશો 3
These ben the folkis whiche the Lord lefte, that in hem he schulde teche Israel, and alle men that knewen not the batels of Cananeis;
2 ૨ ઇઝરાયલની નવી પેઢીઓ, એટલે જેઓને અગાઉ યુદ્ધ વિષે કંઈ માહિતી ન હતી તેઓ યુદ્ધકળા શીખે તે માટે ઈશ્વરે જે દેશજાતિઓ રહેવા દીધી તે આ છે:
and that aftirward `the sones of hem schulden lerne to fiyte with enemyes,
3 ૩ પલિસ્તીઓના પાંચ સરદારો, સર્વ કનાનીઓ, સિદોનીઓ અને બઆલ-હેર્મોનના પહાડથી હમાથ જવાના માર્ગ સુધી લબાનોન પર્વતમાં રહેનારા હિવ્વીઓ.
and to haue custom of batel He lefte fyue princes of Filistees, and al Cananei, and the puple of Sidon, and Euey that dwelliden in the hil Liban, fro the hil Baal Hermon `til to the entryng of Emath.
4 ૪ ઈશ્વરે જે આજ્ઞાઓ મૂસા દ્વારા તેઓના પૂર્વજોને આપી હતી, તે આજ્ઞાઓ ઇઝરાયલ પાળશે કે નહિ, એ જાણવા, તેઓથી તેમની પરીક્ષા કરવા માટે તે લોકોને રહેવા દેવામાં આવ્યા હતા.
And he lefte hem, that in hem he schulde asaie Israel, whethir thei wolden here the `heestis of the Lord, whiche he comaundide to her fadris bi the hond of Moises, ethir nai.
And so the sones of Israel dwelliden in the myddis of Cananei, of Ethei, and of Ammorrei, and of Feresei, and of Euey,
6 ૬ તેઓની દીકરીઓ સાથે તેઓ લગ્ન સંબંધો બાંધતા હતા, તેઓના દીકરાઓને પોતાની દીકરીઓ આપતા હતા અને તેઓના દેવોની પૂજા કરતા હતા.
and of Jebusey, and weddiden wyues, the douytris of hem; and the sones of Israel yauen her douytris to `the sones of hem, and serueden `the goddis of hem.
7 ૭ ઇઝરાયલના લોકોએ ઈશ્વરની નજરમાં જે દુષ્ટ હતું તે કર્યું અને પોતાના ઈશ્વરને વીસરી જઈને બઆલીમ તથા અશેરોથની પૂજા કરી.
And the sones of Israel diden yuel in the `siyt of the Lord, and foryaten her Lord God, and serueden Baalym, and Astaroth.
8 ૮ તે માટે ઈશ્વરનો કોપ ઇઝરાયલ પર સળગી ઊઠ્યો અને તેમણે અરામ-નાહરાઈમના રાજા કૂશાન-રિશાથાઈમના હાથમાં તેઓને વેચી દીધા. આઠ વર્ષ સુધી ઇઝરાયલના લોકો કૂશાન-રિશાથાઈમને તાબે રહ્યા.
And the Lord was wrooth ayens Israel, and bitook hem in to the hondis of Cusanrasathaym, kyng of Mesopotanye, and thei serueden hym eiyte yeer.
9 ૯ જયારે ઇઝરાયલના લોકો ઈશ્વર આગળ રડ્યા, ત્યારે ઈશ્વરે ઇઝરાયલનો બચાવ કરવા સારુ કાલેબના નાના ભાઈ, કનાઝનો દીકરો, ઓથ્નીએલને ઇઝરાયલના લોકોને મદદ માટે તૈયાર કર્યો. તેણે તેઓનો બચાવ કર્યો.
And thei crieden to the Lord, and he reiside to hem a sauyour, and delyuerede hem, that is, Othonyel, sone of Ceneth, `the lesse brothir of Caleph.
10 ૧૦ ઈશ્વરના આત્માએ તેને સામર્થ્ય આપ્યું અને તેણે ઇઝરાયલનો ન્યાય કર્યો અને તે લડાઈ કરવા ગયો. ઈશ્વરે તેને અરામના રાજા કૂશાન રિશાથાઈમ પર વિજય અપાવ્યો. ઓથ્નીએલના સામર્થ્યથી કૂશાન-રિશાથાઈમનો પરાજય થયો.
And the spirit of the Lord was in hym, and he demyde Israel. And he yede out to batel, and the Lord bitook in to hise hondis Cusanrathaym, kyng of Sirie; and Othonyel oppresside hym.
And the lond restide fourti yeer; and Othonyel, sone of Ceneth, diede.
12 ૧૨ ઇઝરાયલના લોકોએ ફરી ઈશ્વરની આજ્ઞાનું ઉલ્લંઘન કર્યું, ઈશ્વરે તે જોયું. તેથી ઈશ્વરે મોઆબના રાજા એગ્લોનને ઇઝરાયલની સામે બળવાન કર્યો, કારણ કે ઇઝરાયલીઓએ દુરાચાર કર્યો હતો.
Forsothe the sones of Israel addiden to do yuel in the `siyt of the Lord; and he coumfortide ayens hem Eglon, the kyng of Moab, for `thei diden yuel in the `siyt of the Lord.
13 ૧૩ એગ્લોને આમ્મોનીઓ તથા અમાલેકીઓને પોતાની સાથે લઈને ઇઝરાયલીઓને હરાવ્યા અને ખજૂરીઓના નગરને કબજે કરી લીધું.
And the Lord couplide to hym the sones of Amon and Amalech; and he yede, and smoot Israel, and hadde in possessioun the citee of Palmes.
And the sones of Israel serueden Eglon, kyng of Moab, eiytene yeer.
15 ૧૫ પણ જયારે ઇઝરાયલના લોકોએ ઈશ્વર આગળ પોકાર કર્યો, ત્યારે ઈશ્વરે તેમની મદદ કરવા બિન્યામીની ગેરાનો દીકરો એહૂદને તેઓની મદદ માટે ઊભો કર્યો. તે ડાબોડીઓ હતો. ઇઝરાયલના લોકોએ તેની હસ્તક મોઆબના રાજા એગ્લોન પર નજરાણું મોકલ્યું.
And aftirward thei crieden to the Lord; and he reiside to hem a sauyour, Aioth bi name, the sone of Gera, sone of Gemyny, which Aioth vside euer either hond for the riyt hond. And the sones of Israel senten bi him yiftis, `that is, tribute, to Eglon, kyng of Moab;
16 ૧૬ એહૂદે પોતાને માટે એક હાથ લાંબી એવી બેધારી તલવાર બનાવી વસ્ત્રની નીચે પોતાની જમણી જાંઘ નીચે તેને લટકાવી.
which Aioth made to hym a swerd keruynge on euer either side, hauynge in the myddis a pomel of the lengthe of the pawm of an hond; and he was gird therwith vndir `the sai, `that is, a knyytis mentil, `in the riyt hipe.
And he brouyte yiftis to Eglon, the kyng of Moab; forsothe Eglon was ful fat.
And whanne he hadde youe yiftis to the kyng, he pursuede felowis that camen with hym; and he turnede ayen fro Galgalis,
19 ૧૯ તે પોતે જયારે ગિલ્ગાલની નજીક ખીણોની જગ્યાએથી પાછો વળ્યો ત્યારે તેણે કહ્યું, “મારા રાજા, તારા માટે એક અંગત સંદેશ છે.” એગ્લોને કહ્યું, “ચૂપ રહે!” તેના સર્વ નોકરો ઓરડામાંથી બહાર ગયા.
where idolis weren, and he seide to the kyng, A kyng, Y haue a priuei word to thee. And he comaundide silence. And whanne alle men weren goon out, that weren aboute hym, Aioth entride to hym;
20 ૨૦ એહૂદ તેની પાસે આવ્યો. રાજા પોતાની રીતે, ઉપરની ઠંડી ઓરડીમાં એકલો બેઠો હતો. એહૂદે તેને કહ્યું, “હું ઈશ્વર તરફથી તારા માટે સંદેશ લાવ્યો છું,” રાજા પોતાના આસન પરથી ઊભો થઈ ગયો.
forsothe he sat aloone in a somer parlour. And Aioth seide, Y haue the word of God to thee.
21 ૨૧ ત્યારે એહૂદે પોતાના ડાબા હાથે, પોતાની જમણી જાંઘ નીચેથી તલવાર કાઢીને રાજાના શરીરમાં ઘુસાડી દીધી.
Which roos anoon fro the trone. And Aioth helde forth the left hond, and took the swerd fro his riyt hype; and he
22 ૨૨ તલવારની સાથે હાથો પણ અંદર પેસી ગયો, તેના પાછળના ભાગમાંથી અણી બહાર આવી અને તે અણી ઉપર ચરબી ભરાઈ ગઈ, કેમ કે એહૂદે તે તલવાર તેના પેટમાંથી પાછી બહાર ખેંચી કાઢી નહોતી.
fastnede in to the `wombe of the kyng so strongli, that the pomel, `ether hilte, suede the yrun in the wounde, and was holdun streite `in the thickeste fatnesse with ynne; and he drow not out the swerd, but so as he hadde smyte, he lefte in the bodi; and anoon bi the priuetees of kynde the tordis of the wombe braste out.
Forsothe whanne the doris of the parlour weren closid moost diligentli, and fastned with lok,
24 ૨૪ એહૂદના ગયા પછી, રાજાના નોકરો અંદર આવ્યા; તેઓએ જોયું કે ઉપરની ઓરડીના બારણાએ તાળું મારેલું હતું, તેઓએ વિચાર્યું કે, “ચોક્કસ તે ઉપરની ઠંડી ઓરડીમાં પોતાની રીતે આરામ કરતો હશે.”
Aioth yede out bi a posterne. And the `seruauntis of the king entriden, not in the parlour, but in the porche, and thei sien the doris of the parlour closid, and seiden, In hap he purgith the wombe in the somer parlour.
25 ૨૫ જયારે ઘણીવાર સુધી રાજાએ બારણું ઉઘાડ્યું નહિ ત્યારે તેઓની ચિંતા વધવા લાગી તેઓ શરમાયા અને ગભરાયા. તેઓએ ચાવી લીધી અને તેના બારણાં ઉઘાડ્યાં. ત્યારે તેઓએ પોતાના રાજાને મૃત અવસ્થામાં જમીન પર પડેલો જોયો.
And thei abididen longe, til thei weren aschamed; and thei sien that no man openede, and thei token the keie, and thei openyden, and founden her lord liggynge deed in the erthe.
26 ૨૬ તેઓએ શું કરવું જોઈએ તે વિષે વિચારતા હતા, એટલામાં એહૂદ નાસીને જ્યાં ખાણોની પેલી બાજુએ ઊતરીને સેઈરા સુધી પહોંચી ગયો.
Sotheli while thei weren disturblid, Aioth fledde out, and passide the place of idols, fro whennus he turnede ayen; and he cam in to Seirath.
27 ૨૭ ત્યાં આવીને તેણે એફ્રાઇમના પહાડી પ્રદેશમાં રણશિંગડું વગાડ્યું. પછી ઇઝરાયલી લોકો તેની સાથે પહાડી પ્રદેશ ઊતર્યા અને તે તેઓની આગેવાની કરતો હતો.
And anoon he sownede with a clarioun in the hil of Effraym; and the sones of Israel camen doun with hym, and he yede in the frount.
28 ૨૮ તેણે તેઓને કહ્યું, “મારી પાછળ આવો, કેમ કે ઈશ્વરે તમારા દુશ્મન મોઆબીઓને તમારા હાથમાં સોંપ્યાં છે.” તેઓ તેની પાછળ ગયા અને તેઓએ મોઆબ દેશ તરફના યર્દનના કિનારા પાસેના પ્રદેશો કબજે કર્યા, તેઓએ કોઈને પણ નદી પાર કરવા દીધી નહિ.
Which seide to hem, Sue ye me, for the Lord hath bitake oure enemyes, Moabitis, in to oure hondis. And thei camen doun after hym, and ocupieden the forthis of Jordan, that ledde ouer in to Moab.
29 ૨૯ તે જ સમયે તેઓએ મોઆબના આશરે દસ હજાર પુરુષોને મારી નાખ્યા, તેઓ સર્વ મજબૂત અને શૂરવીર પુરુષો હતા. તેઓમાંનો એકપણ બચ્યો નહિ.
And thei suffriden not ony man to passe, but thei smytiden Moabitis in that tyme aboute ten thousande, alle myyti men and stronge; no man of hem myyte ascape.
And Moab was maad low in that dai vndur the hond of Israel, and the lond restide fourescoor yeer.
31 ૩૧ એહૂદ પછી અનાથનો દીકરો, શામ્ગાર બીજો ન્યાયાધીશ થયો, તેણે બળદ હાંકવાની લાકડીથી છસો પલિસ્તીઓને મારી નાખ્યા. તેણે પણ ઇઝરાયલીઓને સંકટમાંથી છોડાવ્યાં.
Aftir hym was Samgar, the sone of Anath, that smoot of Filisteis sixe hundrid men with a schar; and he also defendide Israel.
