અયૂબ 40

1 ૧ યહોવાહે અયૂબને ઉત્તર આપતાં કહ્યું કે,

And the Lord addide, and spak to Joob,

2 ૨ “જે કોઈ દલીલ કરવાની ઇચ્છા રાખે તે શું સર્વશક્તિમાન ઈશ્વરને સુધારી શકે? જે ઈશ્વર સાથે દલીલ કરે છે તે જવાબ આપે.”

Whether he, that stryueth with God, schal haue rest so liytli? Sotheli he, that repreueth God, owith for to answere to hym.

3 ૩ ત્યારે અયૂબે યહોવાહને જવાબ આપતાં કહ્યું કે,

Forsothe Joob answeride to the Lord,

4 ૪ “હું અર્થહીન છું; હું તમને કેવી રીતે જવાબ આપી શકું? હું મારો હાથ મારા મોં પર રાખું છું.

and seide, What may Y answere, which haue spoke liytli? Y schal putte myn hond on my mouth.

5 ૫ હું એક વખત બોલ્યો, પણ, હું ફરીથી બોલીશ નહિ; હા, હું બે વખત બોલ્યો, પણ હવે હું વધારે કંઈ બોલીશ નહિ.”

Y spak o thing, which thing Y wold, that Y hadde not seid; and Y spak anothir thing, to which Y schal no more adde.

6 ૬ પછી યહોવાહે વંટોળિયા મારફતે અયૂબને જવાબ આપ્યો કે,

Forsothe the Lord answeride to Joob fro the whirlewynd,

7 ૭ “હવે બળવાનની માફક જવાબ આપ, હું તને પ્રશ્ન પૂછીશ અને તારે તેનો જવાબ આપવાનો છે.

and seide, Girde thou as a man thi leendis, and Y schal axe thee, and schewe thou to me.

8 ૮ શું તું માને છે કે હું અન્યાયી છું? તું ન્યાયી સાબિત થાય માટે શું તું મને દોષિત સાબિત કરીશ?

Whether thou schalt make voide my doom, and schalt condempne me, that thou be maad iust?

9 ૯ તને ઈશ્વરના જેવા હાથ છે? શું તું ગર્જના કરી શકે છે?

And if thou hast an arm, as God hath, and if thou thundrist with lijk vois, `take thou fairnesse aboute thee,

10 ૧૦ તો હવે તું ગર્વ અને મહિમા ધારણ કર; તો માન અને પ્રતિષ્ઠાને વસ્ત્રોની જેમ પરિધાન કર.

and be thou reisid an hiy, and be thou gloriouse, and be thou clothid `in faire clothis.

11 ૧૧ તારા કોપનો ઊભરો ગર્વિષ્ઠો પર રેડી દે; તેના પર દ્રષ્ટિ કરીને તેને નીચો પાડ.

Distrie thou proude men in thi woodnesse, and biholde thou, and make lowe ech bostere.

12 ૧૨ જે કોઈ અહંકારી હોય તેને નમ્ર બનાવ; દુષ્ટો જ્યાં ઉપસ્થિત હોય તે સ્થાનને કચડી નાખ.

Biholde thou alle proude men, and schende thou hem; and al to-breke thou wickid men in her place.

13 ૧૩ તે સર્વ લોકોને એકસાથે ધૂળમાં દાટી દે; તેઓના મુખને કબરોમાં ઢાંકી દે.

Hide thou hem in dust togidere, and drenche doun her faces in to a diche.

14 ૧૪ પછી હું પણ તને માન્ય કરીશ કે, તું તારા પોતાના જમણા હાથથી પોતાને બચાવી શકે છે.

And Y schal knowleche, that thi riyt hond may saue thee.

15 ૧૫ બહેમોથની સામે જો. મેં તેને અને તને ઉત્પન્ન કર્યા છે, તે બળદની જેમ ઘાસ ખાય છે.

Lo! behemot, whom Y made with thee, schal as an oxe ete hey.

16 ૧૬ હવે જો, તેનું બળ તેની કમરમાં છે; તેના પેટમાંના સ્નાયુઓમાં સામર્થ્ય છે.

His strengthe is in hise leendis, and his vertu is in the nawle of his wombe.

17 ૧૭ એની પૂંછડી દેવદાર વૃક્ષની જેમ હાલે છે; એની પગની જાંઘના સ્નાયુઓ કેવા મજબૂત છે.

He streyneth his tail as a cedre; the senewis of his `stones of gendrure ben foldid togidere.

18 ૧૮ તેનાં હાડકાં કાંસાની નળી જેવાં છે; તેના પગ લોખંડના સળિયા જેવા મજબૂત છે.

Hise boonys ben as the pipis of bras; the gristil of hym is as platis of yrun.

19 ૧૯ પ્રાણીઓના સર્જનમાં ગેંડો શ્રેષ્ઠ છે. માત્ર ઈશ્વર જ કે જેમણે તેનું સર્જન કર્યું છે તે જ તેને હરાવી શકે છે.

He is the bigynnyng of the weies of God; he, that made hym, schal sette his swerd to hym.

20 ૨૦ જંગલનાં બીજાં પ્રાણીઓ જ્યાં વસે છે; ત્યાં પર્વતો પરથી તેને ઘાસ મળી રહે છે.

Hillis beren eerbis to this behemot; alle the beestis of the feeld pleien there.

21 ૨૧ તે કાદવ કીચડવાળી જગ્યામાં કમળના છોડ નીચે પડી રહે છે. તે બરુઓની વચ્ચે ભીનાશવાળી જગ્યાઓમાં સંતાય છે.

He slepith vndur schadewe, in the pryuete of rehed, in moiste places.

22 ૨૨ કમળવૃક્ષો તેને પોતાની છાયાથી ઢાંકે છે; તે નદી પાસે ઊગતા વેલા નીચે રહે છે.

Schadewis hilen his schadewe; the salewis of the ryuer cumpassen hym.

23 ૨૩ જો નદીમાં પૂર આવે, તોપણ તે ધ્રૂજતો નથી; તેનામાં આત્મવિશ્વાસ છે, જો યર્દનમાં પૂર ચઢીને તેના મુખ સુધી પાણી આવે તો પણ તે ગભરાતો નથી.

He schal soupe vp the flood, and he schal not wondre; he hath trist, that Jordan schal flowe in to his mouth.

24 ૨૪ શું કોઈ તેને આંકડીમાં ભરાવીને પકડી શકે, અથવા ફાંદા દ્વારા તેનું નાક વીંધી શકે છે?

He schal take hem bi `the iyen of hym, as bi an hook; and bi scharpe schaftis he schal perse hise nosethirlis.
