અયૂબ 35

1 ૧ અલીહૂએ બોલવાનું ચાલુ રાખતા કહ્યું કે,

Elihu spake moreouer, and said,

2 ૨ તું એમ ધારે છે કે, તું નિર્દોષ છે? તું એમ કહે છે કે, ‘ઈશ્વર કરતા મારું ન્યાયીપણું અધિક છે?’

Thinkest thou this right, that thou hast said, I am more righteous then God?

3 ૩ તું એમ માને છે કે, ‘હું ન્યાયી છું તો તેનાથી મને શો ફાયદો? મેં પાપ કર્યું હોત તો તેના કરતા વધારે મને શો ફાયદો?’

For thou hast said, What profiteth it thee and what auaileth it me, to purge me from my sinne?

4 ૪ હું તને તથા તારા મિત્રોને, જવાબ આપીશ.

Therefore will I answere thee, and thy companions with thee.

5 ૫ ઊંચે આકાશમાં જો; વાદળાં જો, જે તારા કરતાં કેટલા ઊંચા છે?

Looke vnto the heauen, and see and behold the cloudes which are hyer then thou.

6 ૬ જો તમે પાપ કર્યું છે, તો તેમાં તમે ઈશ્વરને કેવી રીતે નુકશાન પહોંચાડો છો? જો તારા અપરાધો પુષ્કળ વધી જાય, તો તેની વિરુદ્ધ તું શું કરે છે?

If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him, yea, when thy sinnes be many, what doest thou vnto him?

7 ૭ જો તું ન્યાયી હોય, તો તું તેમને શું આપી દે છે? તેઓને તારી પાસેથી શું મળવાનું છે?

If thou be righteous, what giuest thou vnto him? or what receiueth he at thine hand?

8 ૮ તારી દુષ્ટતા બીજા માણસને નુકશાન કરે છે, જેમ તું પણ માણસ છે તેમ. પણ તારા ન્યાયીપણાથી બીજા માણસનાં દીકરાને ફાયદો થાય છે.

Thy wickednesse may hurt a man as thou art: and thy righteousnes may profite ye sonne of man.

9 ૯ જુલમની વૃદ્ધિથી લોકો રુદન કરે છે; તેઓ બળવાન લોકો પાસે મદદને માટે બૂમ પાડે છે

They cause many that are oppressed, to crye, which crye out for ye violence of the mightie.

10 ૧૦ પણ કોઈ એમ કહેતું નથી, ‘મારા સર્જનહાર ઈશ્વર ક્યાં છે, જે મને રાત્રે ગાયન આપે છે,

But none saieth, Where is God that made me, which giueth songs in the nyght?

11 ૧૧ જેમણે આપણને પૃથ્વી પરના પશુઓ કરતાં, અને આકાશના પક્ષીઓ કરતા વધારે સમજદાર બનાવ્યા છે?’

Which teacheth vs more then the beastes of the earth, and giueth vs more wisdome then the foules of the heauen.

12 ૧૨ તેઓ પોકાર કરે છે, પણ દુષ્ટ માણસનાં અભિમાનને કારણે કોઈ તેમને સાંભળતું નથી.

Then they crye because of the violence of the wicked, but he answereth not.

13 ૧૩ નિશ્ચે ઈશ્વર દંભીઓની માંગણીઓ સાંભળશે નહિ; સર્વશક્તિમાન ઈશ્વર તેઓ તરફ ધ્યાન આપશે નહિ.

Surely God will not heare vanitie, neyther will the Almightie regard it.

14 ૧૪ તું કહે છે કે, તું તેમને જોતો નથી, ત્યારે તેઓ તારું સાંભળશે નહિ. એ કેટલું શક્ય છે, તારી સર્વ બાબતો તેમની સમક્ષ છે માટે તું તેમની રાહ જો!

Although thou sayest to God, Thou wilt not regard it, yet iudgement is before him: trust thou in him.

15 ૧૫ તું કહે છે કે, ઈશ્વર કોઈને ક્રોધમાં સજા કરતા નથી ત્યારે તેઓ તારું સાંભળશે નહિ. એ કેટલું શક્ય છે. અને તેઓ લોકોના અભિમાનની કદર કરતા નથી.

But nowe because his anger hath not visited, nor called to count the euill with great extremitie,

16 ૧૬ “તેથી અયૂબ, તેની અર્થ વગરની વાતો કરે છે; અને તે અજ્ઞાની શબ્દો ઉચ્ચારે છે.”

Therfore Iob openeth his mouth in vaine, and multiplieth wordes without knowledge.
