અયૂબ 22

1 ૧ ત્યારે અલિફાઝ તેમાનીએ જવાબ આપતાં કહ્યું કે,

And Eliphaz the Temanite answers and says:

2 ૨ “શું માણસ ઈશ્વરને લાભકારક હોઈ શકે? શું ડાહ્યો માણસ પોતાને જ લાભકારક હોય એ સાચું છે?

“Is a man profitable to God, Because a wise man is profitable to himself?

3 ૩ તું ન્યાયી હોય તોપણ સર્વશક્તિમાનને શો આનંદ થાય? તું તારા રસ્તા સીધા રાખે તેમાં તેમને શો ફાયદો?

Is it a delight to the Mighty One That you are righteous? Is it gain, That you make your ways perfect?

4 ૪ શું તે તારાથી ડરે છે કે તે તને ઠપકો આપે છે અને તે તને તેમના ન્યાયાસન આગળ ઊભો કરે છે?

Because of your reverence Does He reason [with] you? He enters with you into judgment:

5 ૫ શું તારી દુષ્ટતા ઘણી નથી? તારા અન્યાય તો પાર વિનાના છે.

Is your wickedness not abundant? And there is no end to your iniquities.

6 ૬ કેમ કે તેં તારા ભાઈની થાપણ મફતમાં લીધી છે; અને તારા દેણદારોનાં વસ્ત્રો કાઢી લઈને તેઓને નિર્વસ્ત્ર કરી દીધા છે.

For you take a pledge of your brother for nothing, And you strip off the garments of the naked.

7 ૭ તમે થાકેલાને પીવાને પાણી આપ્યું નથી; તમે ભૂખ્યાને રોટલી આપી નથી,

You do not cause the weary to drink water, And you withhold bread from the hungry.

8 ૮ જો કે શક્તિશાળી માણસ તો ભૂમિનો માલિક હતો. અને સન્માનિત પુરુષ તેમાં વસતો હતો.

As for the man of arm—he has the earth, And the accepted of face—he dwells in it.

9 ૯ તેં વિધવાઓને ખાલી હાથે પાછી વાળી છે; અને અનાથોના હાથ ભાંગી નાખ્યા છે.

You have sent widows away empty, And the arms of the fatherless are bruised.

10 ૧૦ તેથી તારી ચારેતરફ ફાંસલો છે, અને અણધારી આફત તને ડરાવી મૂકે છે;

Therefore snares [are] all around you, And sudden fear troubles you.

11 ૧૧ જેને તું જોઈ શકતો નથી, એવો અંધકાર તને ગભરાવે છે, અને પૂરનાં પાણીએ તને ઢાંકી દીધો છે.

Or darkness—you do not see, And abundance of waters covers you.

12 ૧૨ શું ઈશ્વર આકાશના ઉચ્ચસ્થાનમાં નથી? તારાઓની ઊંચાઈ જો, તેઓ કેટલા ઊંચા છે?

Is God not high [in] the heavens? And see the summit of the stars, That they are high.

13 ૧૩ તું કહે છે, ઈશ્વર શું જાણે છે? શું તે ઘોર અંધકારની આરપાર જોઈને ન્યાય કરી શકે?

And you have said, How has God known? Does He judge through thickness?

14 ૧૪ ગાઢ વાદળ તેને એવી રીતે ઢાંકી દે છે કે તે જોઈ શકતો નથી; અને આકાશના ઘુંમટ પર તે ચાલે છે.’

Thick clouds [are] a secret place to Him, And He does not see, And He habitually walks [above] the circle of the heavens.

15 ૧૫ જે પ્રાચીન માર્ગ પર દુષ્ટ લોકો ચાલ્યા હતા, તેને શું તું વળગી રહીશ?

Do you observe the path of the age, That men of iniquity have trodden,

16 ૧૬ તેઓનો સમય પૂરો થયા અગાઉ તેઓને ઝડપી લેવામાં આવ્યા હતા, તેઓનો પાયો રેલમાં તણાઈ ગયો હતો.

Who have been cut down unexpectedly? A flood is poured out on their foundation.

17 ૧૭ તેઓ ઈશ્વરને કહેતા હતા કે, ‘અમારાથી દૂર ચાલ્યા જાઓ;’ તેઓ કહેતા કે, સર્વશક્તિમાન અમને શું કરી શકવાના છે?’

Those saying to God, Turn aside from us, And what does the Mighty One do to them?

18 ૧૮ તેમ છતાં પણ ઈશ્વરે તેઓનાં ઘર સારી વસ્તુઓથી ભર્યાં; પણ દુષ્ટ લોકોના વિચાર મારાથી દૂર છે.

And He has filled their houses [with] good (And the counsel of the wicked Has been far from me).

19 ૧૯ ન્યાયીઓ તેમને જોઈને ખુશ થાય છે; અને નિર્દોષ તુચ્છકાર સહિત તેમના પર હસશે.

The righteous see and they rejoice, And the innocent mocks at them:

20 ૨૦ તેઓ કહે છે, અમારી સામે ઊઠનારા નિશ્ચે કપાઈ ગયા છે; અને તેઓમાંથી બચેલાને અગ્નિએ ભસ્મ કર્યા છે.’

Surely our substance has not been cut off, And fire has consumed their excellence.

21 ૨૧ હવે ઈશ્વરની સાથે સુલેહ કર અને શાંતિમાં રહે; જેથી તારું ભલું થશે.

Now acquaint yourself with Him, and be at peace, Thereby your increase [is] good.

22 ૨૨ કૃપા કરીને તેમના મુખથી બોધ સાંભળ અને તેમની વાણી તારા હૃદયમાં સંઘરી રાખ.

Please receive a law from His mouth, And set His sayings in your heart.

23 ૨૩ જો તું સર્વશક્તિમાન ઈશ્વરની પાસે પાછો વળે તો તું સ્થિર થશે, અને જો તું તારા તંબુમાંથી અન્યાય દૂર કરશે તો તું સ્થિર થશે.

If you return to the Mighty you are built up, You put iniquity far from your tents.

24 ૨૪ જો તું તારું ધન ધૂળમાં ફેંકી દે, અને ઓફીરનું સોનું નાળાંના પાણીમાં ફેંકી દે.

So as to set a defense on the dust, And a covering on a rock of the valleys.

25 ૨૫ તો સર્વશક્તિમાન તારો ખજાનો થશે, અને તને મૂલ્યવાન ચાંદી પ્રાપ્ત થશે.

And the Mighty has been your defense, And silver [is] strength to you.

26 ૨૬ તું સર્વશક્તિમાન ઈશ્વરમાં આનંદ માનશે; અને તું ઈશ્વર તરફ તારું મુખ ઊંચું કરશે.

For then you delight yourself on the Mighty, And lift up your face to God,

27 ૨૭ તું તેમને પ્રાર્થના કરશે, એટલે તે તારું સાંભળશે; અને પછી તું તારી પ્રતિજ્ઞાઓ પૂરી કરીશ.

You make supplication to Him, And He hears you, And you complete your vows.

28 ૨૮ વળી તું કોઈ બાબત વિષે ઠરાવ કરશે તો તે સફળ થશે; તારા માર્ગમાં પ્રકાશ પડશે.

And you decree a saying, And it is established to you, And light has shone on your ways.

29 ૨૯ ઈશ્વર અભિમાનીને પાડે છે, અને નમ્રને તેઓ બચાવે છે.

For they have made low, And you say, Lift up. And He saves the bowed down of eyes.

30 ૩૦ જેઓ નિર્દોષ નથી તેઓને પણ તેઓ ઉગારે છે, તારા હાથની શુદ્ધતાને લીધે તેઓ તને ઉગારશે.”

He delivers the one [who is] not innocent, Indeed, he has been delivered By the cleanness of your hands.”
