અયૂબ 11

1 ૧ ત્યારે સોફાર નાઅમાથીએ અયૂબને ઉત્તર આપ્યો અને કહ્યું કે,

Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and sayde,

2 ૨ “શું વધારે શબ્દોનો ઉત્તર આપવો ન જોઈએ? શું વધારે બોલતો માણસ ન્યાયી ઠરે?

Should not the multitude of wordes be answered? or should a great talker be iustified?

3 ૩ શું તારી ફુલાશથી બીજા માણસો ચૂપ થઈ જાય? જ્યારે તું અમારા શિક્ષણની મશ્કરી કરીશ, ત્યારે શું તને કોઈ ઠપકો નહિ આપે?

Should men holde their peace at thy lyes? and when thou mockest others, shall none make thee ashamed?

4 ૪ કેમ કે તું ઈશ્વરને કહે છે કે, ‘મારો મત સાફ છે, હું તમારી નજરમાં નિર્દોષ છું.’

For thou hast sayde, My doctrine is pure, and I am cleane in thine eyes.

5 ૫ પણ જો, ઈશ્વર બોલે અને તારી વિરુદ્ધ પોતાનું મુખ ખોલે;

But, oh that God would speake and open his lippes against thee!

6 ૬ તો તે તને ડહાપણના રહસ્યો વિષે કહેશે! તેમની પાસે બહુવિધ સમજણ છે. તે માટે જાણ કે, ઈશ્વરે તારા અન્યાયને લીધે તને યોગ્ય છે તે કરતાં ઓછી સજા આપે છે.

That he might shewe thee the secretes of wisedome, howe thou hast deserued double, according to right: know therefore that God hath forgotten thee for thine iniquitie.

7 ૭ શું શોધ કરવાથી તું ઈશ્વરને સમજી શકે? શું તું યોગ્ય રીતે સર્વશક્તિમાનને સમજી શકે છે?

Canst thou by searching finde out God? canst thou finde out ye Almighty to his perfection?

8 ૮ તે બાબત આકાશ જેટલી ઊંચી છે તેમાં તું શું કરી શકે? તે શેઓલ કરતાં ઊંડું છે; તું શું જાણી શકે? (Sheol h7585)

The heauens are hie, what canst thou doe? it is deeper then the hell, how canst thou know it? (Sheol h7585)

9 ૯ તેનું માપ પૃથ્વી કરતાં લાંબું, અને સમુદ્ર કરતાં પણ વિશાળ છે.

The measure thereof is longer then the earth, and it is broader then the sea.

10 ૧૦ જો તે કોઈને પણ પકડી અને કેદમાં પૂરે, અને તેનો ન્યાય કરવા તેને આગળ બોલાવે તો તેમને કોણ અટકાવી શકે?

If hee cut off and shut vp, or gather together, who can turne him backe?

11 ૧૧ કેમ કે ઈશ્વર જૂઠા લોકોને જાણે છે; જ્યારે તે અન્યાય જુએ છે, ત્યારે શું તે તેની ખબર રાખતા નથી?

For hee knoweth vaine men, and seeth iniquitie, and him that vnderstandeth nothing.

12 ૧૨ પણ મૂર્ખ લોકો પાસે સમજણ નથી; જંગલી ગધેડીના બચ્ચા જેવા માણસને તે સુધારે છે.

Yet vaine man would be wise, though man new borne is like a wilde asse colte.

13 ૧૩ પણ જો તું તારું મન સીધું રાખે અને ઈશ્વર તરફ તારા હાથ લાંબા કરે;

If thou prepare thine heart, and stretch out thine hands toward him:

14 ૧૪ તારામાં જે પાપ હોય તે જો તું છેક દૂર કરે, અને અનીતિને તારા ઘરમાં રહેવા ન દે.

If iniquitie be in thine hand, put it farre away, and let no wickednesse dwell in thy Tabernacle.

15 ૧૫ તો પછી તું નક્કી નિર્દોષ ઠરીને તારું મુખ ઊંચું કરશે. હા, તું દૃઢ રહેશે અને બીશે નહિ.

The truely shalt thou lift vp thy face without spot, and shalt be stable, and shalt not feare.

16 ૧૬ તું તારું દુ: ખ ભૂલી જશે; અને વહી ગયેલા પાણીની જેમ તે તને સ્મરણમાં આવશે.

But thou shalt forget thy miserie, and remember it as waters that are past.

17 ૧૭ તારી જિંદગી બપોર કરતાં પણ વધુ તેજસ્વી થશે. જો અંધકાર હશે તોપણ, તે પ્રભાતના જેવી થશે.

Thine age also shall appeare more cleare then the noone day: thou shalt shine and bee as the morning.

18 ૧૮ આશા ઉત્પન્ન થવાને લીધે તું નિર્ભય થશે; તું ચોતરફ જોશે અને સહીસલામત આરામ લેશે.

And thou shalt bee bolde, because there is hope: and thou shalt digge pittes, and shalt lye downe safely.

19 ૧૯ વળી તું નિરાંતે સૂઈ જશે અને તને કોઈ બીવડાવશે નહિ; હા, ઘણા લોકો તારી પાસે અરજ કરશે.

For when thou takest thy rest, none shall make thee afraide: yea, many shall make sute vnto thee.

20 ૨૦ પણ દુષ્ટોની આંખો નિસ્તેજ થઈ જશે; તેઓને નાસી જવાનો કોઈ રસ્તો નહિ રહે; મૃત્યુ સિવાય તેમને બીજી કોઈ પણ આશા રહેશે નહિ.”

But the eyes of the wicked shall faile, and their refuge shall perish, and their hope shalbe sorow of minde.
