યશાયા 7
1 ૧ યહૂદિયાના રાજા ઉઝિયાના દીકરા યોથામના દીકરા આહાઝના સમયમાં, અરામના રાજા રસીન તથા ઇઝરાયલના રાજા રમાલ્યાનો દીકરો પેકાહ યરુશાલેમની સામે લડવાને ચઢી આવ્યા; પણ તેઓ તેના પર ફતેહ પામી શક્યા નહિ.
And it comes to pass in the days of Ahaz, son of Jotham, son of Uzziah, king of Judah, [that] Rezin king of Aram, and Pekah, son of Remaliah, king of Israel, have gone up to Jerusalem, to battle against it, and he is not able to fight against it.
2 ૨ દાઉદના વંશના રાજાને એ ખબર મળી કે, અરામ એફ્રાઇમ સાથે મળી ગયો છે. ત્યારે તેનું મન અને તેના લોકોનાં મન જેમ વનનાં વૃક્ષો પવનથી કંપે એમ ગભરાયાં.
And it is declared to the house of David, saying, “Aram has been led toward Ephraim,” and his heart and the heart of his people is moved, like the moving of trees of a forest by the presence of wind.
3 ૩ ત્યારે યહોવાહે યશાયાને કહ્યું, “તું તારા પુત્ર શાર-યાશૂબને લઈને તમે બંને ધોબીના ખેતરને રસ્તે આવતા ઉપલા કુંડના નાળાંના છેડા આગળ આહાઝને મળવા જાઓ.
And YHWH says to Isaiah, “Now go forth to meet Ahaz, you and your son Shear-Jashub, to the end of the conduit of the upper pool, to the highway of the fuller’s field,
4 ૪ તું તેને કહે કે, ‘સાવધ રહે, શાંત રહે, ગભરાઈશ નહિ અને આ હોલવાઈ જતી મશાલના બે છેડાથી, એટલે અરામના રસીન તથા રમાલ્યાના દીકરા પેકાના રોષથી ભયભીત ન થા.
and you have said to him: Take heed, and be quiet, do not fear, And do not let your heart be timid, Because of these two tails of smoking brands, For the fierceness of the anger of Rezin and Aram, And the son of Remaliah.
Because that Aram counseled evil against you, Ephraim and the son of Remaliah, saying,
6 ૬ “આપણે યહૂદિયા પર ચઢી જઈને તેને ત્રાસ પમાડીએ અને આપણે માટે તેમાં ભંગાણ પાડીએ અને ત્યાં ટાબએલના દીકરાને રાજા બનાવીએ.”
We go up into Judah, and we distress it, And we divide it to ourselves, And we cause a king to reign in its midst—The son of Tabeal.
Thus said Lord YHWH: It does not stand, nor will it be!
8 ૮ કારણ કે અરામનું શિર દમસ્કસ છે અને દમસ્કસનું શિર રસીન છે. અને પાંસઠ વર્ષમાં એફ્રાઇમ નાશ પામશે અને પ્રજાની ગણતરી રહેશે નહિ.
For the head of Aram [is] Damascus, And the head of Damascus [is] Rezin, And within sixty-five years Is Ephraim broken from [being] a people.
9 ૯ એફ્રાઇમનું શિર સમરુન છે અને સમરુનનું શિર રમાલ્યાનો દીકરો છે. જો તમે વિશ્વાસમાં સ્થિર રહેશો નહિ તો તમે સુરક્ષિત રહેશો નહિ.”
And the head of Ephraim [is] Samaria, And the head of Samaria [is] the son of Remaliah. If you do not give credence, Surely you are not steadfast.”
And YHWH adds to speak to Ahaz, saying,
11 ૧૧ “તું તારે માટે તારા ઈશ્વર યહોવાહ પાસે ચિહ્ન માગ; ચાહે તો ઊંડાણમાંથી અથવા ચાહે તો ઊંચાણમાંથી માગ.” (Sheol h7585)
“Ask for a sign from your God YHWH, Make the request deep, or make [it] high upwards.” (Sheol h7585)
And Ahaz says, “I do not ask nor try YHWH.”
13 ૧૩ પછી યશાયાએ જવાબ આપ્યો, “હે દાઉદના વંશજો સાંભળો, તમે માણસોની ધીરજની પરીક્ષા કરો છો તે શું પૂરતું નથી? કેમ કે તમે હવે મારા ઈશ્વરની ધીરજની પરીક્ષા કરવા માગો છો?”
And he says, “Now hear, O house of David, Is it a little thing for you to weary men, That you also weary my God?
14 ૧૪ તેથી પ્રભુ પોતે તમને ચિહ્ન આપશે: જુઓ, કુમારી ગર્ભવતી થઈને, પુત્રને જન્મ આપશે અને તેનું નામ ઈમાનુએલ પાડવામાં આવશે.
Therefore the Lord Himself gives a sign to you, Behold, the virgin is conceiving, And is bringing forth a Son, And has called His Name Immanuel,
He eats butter and honey, When He knows to refuse evil, and to fix on good.
16 ૧૬ એ બાળક ખોટું નકારવાને તથા ભલું પસંદ કરવાને સમજણો થશે, તે અગાઉ જે બે રાજાથી તું ભયભીત થાય છે તેઓનો દેશ ઉજ્જડ થઈ જશે.
For before the youth knows To refuse evil, and to fix on good, The land you are distressed with is forsaken, because of her two kings.
17 ૧૭ એફ્રાઇમ યહૂદાથી જુદો પડ્યો ત્યાર પછી આવ્યા નહોતા એવા દિવસો યહોવાહ તારા પર, તારી પ્રજા પર તથા તારા પિતાના કુટુંબ પર લાવશે, એટલે તે આશ્શૂરના રાજાને લાવશે.”
YHWH brings on you, and on your people, And on the house of your father, Days that have not come, Even from the day of the turning aside of Ephraim from Judah, By the king of Asshur.”
18 ૧૮ વળી તે સમયે યહોવાહ મિસરની નદીના છેડાઓ પર જે માખી છે તેને અને આશ્શૂરમાંથી જે મધમાખીઓ છે તેમને યહોવાહ સીટી વગાડીને બોલાવશે.
And it has come to pass in that day, YHWH hisses for a fly that [is] in the extremity of the brooks of Egypt, And for a bee that [is] in the land of Asshur.
And they have come, and all of them rested in the desolate valleys, And in holes of the rocks, and on all the thorns, And on all the commendable things.
20 ૨૦ તે દિવસે પ્રભુ ફ્રાત નદીને પેલે પારથી ભાડે રાખેલા અસ્ત્રા વડે, એટલે આશ્શૂરના રાજા વડે, તમારું માથું અને પગોના વાળ મૂંડી નાખશે; અને દાઢી પણ કાઢી નાખશે.
In that day the Lord shaves, By a razor that is hired beyond the river, By the king of Asshur, The head, and the hair of the feet, Indeed, it also consumes the beard.
And it has come to pass in that day, A man keeps alive a heifer of the herd, And two of the flock,
22 ૨૨ અને તેઓના દૂધની પુષ્કળ આવકને લીધે તે દહીં ખાશે, જે બધા દેશમાં બાકી રહ્યા હશે તેઓ સર્વ દહીં અને મધ ખાશે.
And it has come to pass, He eats butter from the abundance of the yielding of milk, For everyone who is left in the heart of the land eats butter and honey.
23 ૨૩ તે સમયે, એમ થશે કે જ્યાં એક હજાર રૂપિયાના એક હજાર દ્રાક્ષાવેલા રોપેલા હતા, તેવી દરેક જગ્યા કાંટા અને ઝાંખરાંનું સ્થાન થઈ જશે.
And it has come to pass in that day, Every place where there are one thousand vines, At one thousand pieces of silver, Is for briers and for thorns.
He comes there with arrows and with bow, Because all the land is brier and thorn.
25 ૨૫ તે સર્વ ટેકરાઓ જે પાવડાથી ખોદવામાં આવતા, ત્યાં કાંટા અને ઝાંખરાંની બીક હતી નહિ; પણ ત્યાં બળદો તથા ઘેટાંને ચરવાની જગ્યા થઈ પડશે.
And all the hills that are kept in order with a mattock, There does not come [for] fear of brier and thorn, And it has been for the sending forth of ox, And for the treading of sheep!
