1 ૧ યહોવાહ પૂછે છે કે, “છૂટાછેડાનો પત્ર ક્યાં છે જેનાથી મેં તારી માને છૂટાછેડા આપ્યા? અને મારા લેણદારોમાંના કોને ત્યાં મેં તમને વેચી દીધા હતા? જો, તમારાં પાપોને લીધે તમે વેચાયા હતા અને તમારા બળવાને કારણે તમારી માને મેં તજી દીધી હતી.
This is what Yahweh says, “Where is the certificate of divorce with which I divorced your mother? To which of my creditors did I sell you? Look, you were sold because of your sins, and because of your rebellion, your mother was sent away.
2 ૨ હું શા માટે આવ્યો પણ ત્યાં કોઈ હતું નહિ? મેં શા માટે પોકાર કર્યો પણ કોઈએ જવાબ આપ્યો નહિ? શું મારો હાથ એટલો બધો ટૂંકો થઈ ગયો છે કે તમને છોડાવી શકે નહિ? શું તમને બચાવવા માટે મારામાં શક્તિ નથી? જુઓ, મારા ઠપકાથી હું સમુદ્રને સૂકવી નાખું છું; હું નદીઓને રણ કરી નાખું છું; તેમાંની માછલીઓ પાણી વિના મરી જાય છે અને ગંધાઈ ઊઠે છે.
Why did I come but there was no one there? Why did I call but no one answered? Was my hand too short to ransom you? Was there no power in me to rescue you? Look, at my rebuke I dry up the sea; I make the rivers a desert; their fish die for lack of water and rot.
I clothe the sky with darkness; I cover it with sackcloth.”
4 ૪ હું થાકેલાઓને આશ્વાસનના શબ્દો બોલી શકું માટે, પ્રભુ યહોવાહે મને શીખેલાની જીભ આપી છે. તે દર સવારે મને જગાડે છે અને મારા કાનને ઉઘાડે છે કે હું શીખેલાની જેમ સાંભળું.
The Lord Yahweh has given me a tongue as one of those who are taught, so that I speak a sustaining word to the weary one; he wakes me morning by morning; he awakens my ear to hear like those who are taught.
The Lord Yahweh has opened my ear, and I was not rebellious, nor did I turn away backward.
6 ૬ મેં મારા મારનારની આગળ મારી પીઠ તથા વાળ ખેંચી કાઢનારની આગળ મારા ગાલ ધર્યા; અપમાનિત તથા થૂંકાવા છતાં મેં મારું મુખ સંતાડ્યું નહિ.
I gave my back to those who beat me, and my cheeks to those who plucked out my beard; I did not hide my face from acts of shame and spitting.
7 ૭ કેમ કે પ્રભુ યહોવાહ મારી સહાય કરશે; તેથી હું ફજેત થનાર નથી; તેથી મેં મારું મુખ ચકમકના પથ્થર જેવું કર્યું છે, કેમ કે હું જાણું છું કે હું લજ્જિત થઈશ નહિ.
For the Lord Yahweh will help me; therefore I am not disgraced; so I have made my face like flint, for I know that I will not be put to shame.
8 ૮ મને ન્યાયી ઠરાવનાર પાસે છે. કોણ મારો વિરોધ કરશે? આવો આપણે સાથે ઊભા રહીને એક બીજાની સરખામણી કરીએ. મારા પર આરોપ મૂકનાર કોણ છે? તેને મારી પાસે આવવા દો.
He who will justify me is close by. Who will oppose me? Let us stand and confront one another. Who is my accuser? Let him come near to me.
9 ૯ જુઓ, પ્રભુ યહોવાહ મને સહાય કરશે. મને અપરાધી ઠરાવનાર કોણ છે? જુઓ, તેઓ સર્વ વસ્ત્રની જેમ જીર્ણ થઈ જશે; ઉધાઈ તેઓને ખાઈ જશે.
See, the Lord Yahweh will help me. Who will declare me guilty? See, they will all wear out like a garment; the moth will eat them up.
10 ૧૦ તમારામાં યહોવાહની બીક રાખનાર કોણ છે? કોણ પોતાના સેવકની વાણી સાંભળે છે? કોણ ઘોર અંધકારમાં પ્રકાશ વિના ચાલે છે? તેણે યહોવાહના નામ પર ભરોસો રાખવો અને તેના ઈશ્વર પર આધાર રાખવો.
Who among you fears Yahweh? Who obeys the voice of his servant? Who walks in deep darkness without light? He should trust in the name of Yahweh and lean on his God.
11 ૧૧ જુઓ, તમે સર્વ અગ્નિ સળગાવનારા, જે મશાલોથી સજ્જ છો: તમારી સળગાવેલ જ્યોતમાં અને તમારી મશાલોના પ્રકાશમાં ચાલો. યહોવાહ કહે છે, ‘મારા હાથથી,’ ‘આ તમારી પાસે આવશે: તમે વિપત્તિના સ્થાનમાં પડી રહેશો.’”
Look, all you who light fires, who equip yourselves with torches: walk in the light of your fire and in the flames that you have ignited. This is what you have received from me: You will lie down in a place of pain.
