યશાયા 45
1 ૧ યહોવાહ કહે છે, કોરેશ મારો અભિષિક્ત છે, તેની આગળ દેશોને તાબે કરવા, રાજાઓનાં હથિયાર મુકાવી દેવા માટે મેં તેનો જમણો હાથ પકડી રાખ્યો છે અને દરવાજા ખૂલી જશે અને તે દ્વારો બંધ કરવામાં આવશે નહિ.
Thus hath said the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus, whom I have taken hold of by his right hand, to subdue nations before him, even the loins of kings will I ungird, to open before him [city-]doors, and gates that they shall not be shut;
2 ૨ “હું તારી આગળ જઈશ અને પર્વતોને સપાટ કરીશ; હું પિત્તળના દરવાજાઓના ટુકડેટુકડા કરી નાખીશ તથા લોખંડની ભૂંગળોને કાપી નાખીશ.
I myself will go before thee, and proud eminences will I level: doors of brass will I break in pieces, and bolts of iron will I cut asunder.
3 ૩ અને હું તને અંધકારમાં રાખેલા ખજાના તથા ગુપ્ત સ્થળમાં છુપાવેલું દ્રવ્ય આપીશ, જેથી તું જાણે કે હું તારું નામ લઈને બોલાવનાર ઇઝરાયલનો ઈશ્વર યહોવાહ છું.
And I will give unto thee the treasures of darkness, and riches hidden in secret places; in order that thou mayest know that I am the Lord, who call thee by thy name, the God of Israel;
4 ૪ મારા સેવક યાકૂબને લીધે અને મારા પસંદ કરેલા ઇઝરાયલને લીધે, મેં તને તારું નામ લઈને બોલાવ્યો છે; જો કે તેં મને ઓળખ્યો નથી તો પણ મેં તને અટક આપી છે.
For the sake of my servant Jacob, and Israel my elect; and I have called thee by thy name: I have designated thee, though thou hast not known me.
5 ૫ હું જ યહોવાહ છું અને બીજો કોઈ નથી; મારા સિવાય કોઈ ઈશ્વર નથી. જો કે તેં મને ઓળખ્યો નથી, તો પણ હું તને યુદ્ધ માટે તૈયાર કરીશ;
I am the Lord, and there is none else, beside me there is no god; I assisted thee, though thou hast not known me.
6 ૬ એથી પૂર્વથી તથા પશ્ચિમ સુધી સર્વ લોકો જાણે કે મારા વિના બીજો કોઈ ઈશ્વર નથી. હું જ યહોવાહ છું અને બીજો કોઈ નથી.
In order that they may know from the rising of the sun, and from its setting, that there is nothing without me. I am the Lord, and there is no one else;
7 ૭ પ્રકાશનો કર્તા અને અંધકારનો ઉત્પન્ન કરનાર હું છું; હું શાંતિ અને સંકટ લાવનાર; હું, યહોવાહ એ સર્વનો કરનાર છું.
Forming the light, and creating darkness; making peace, and creating evil: I the Lord do all these things.
8 ૮ હે આકાશો, તમે ઉપરથી વરસો! હે વાદળો તમે ન્યાયી તારણ વરસાવો. પૃથ્વીને તે શોષી લેવા દો કે તેમાંથી ઉદ્ધાર ઊગે અને ન્યાયીપણું તેની સાથે ઊગશે. મેં, યહોવાહે તે બન્નેને ઉત્પન્ન કર્યાં છે.
Drop down ye heavens, and let the skies distil blessing; let the earth open and let them [all] be fruitful of prosperity, and let righteousness spring up likewise: I the Lord have created it.
9 ૯ જે કોઈ પોતાના કર્તાની સામે દલીલ કરે છે તેને અફસોસ! તે ભૂમિમાં માટીના ઠીકરામાંનું ઠીકરું જ છે! શું માટી કુંભારને પૂછશે કે, ‘તું શું કરે છે?’ અથવા ‘તું જે બનાવી રહ્યો હતો તે કહેશે કે - તારા હાથ નથી?’
Woe unto him that contendeth with the one who formed him—a potsherd among the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?
10 ૧૦ જે પિતાને કહે છે, ‘તમે શા માટે પિતા છો?’ અથવા સ્ત્રીને કહે, ‘તમે કોને જન્મ આપો છો?’ તેને અફસોસ!
Woe unto him that saith unto [his] father, What begettest thou? or to the woman, What bringest thou forth?
11 ૧૧ ઇઝરાયલના પવિત્ર, તેને બનાવનાર યહોવાહ કહે છે: ‘જે બિનાઓ બનવાની છે તે વિષે, તમે શું મને મારાં બાળકો વિષે પ્રશ્ન કરશો? શું મારા હાથનાં કાર્યો વિષે તમે મને કહેશો કે મારે શું કરવું?’
Thus hath said the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and he who hath formed him, About events to come will you ask me? concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands will ye command me?
12 ૧૨ ‘મેં પૃથ્વીને બનાવી અને તે પર મનુષ્યને બનાવ્યો. તે મારા જ હાથો હતા જેણે આકાશોને પ્રસાર્યાં અને મેં સર્વ તારાઓ દ્રશ્યમાન થાય તેવી આજ્ઞા આપી.
[When] I myself have made the earth, and created man upon it; [when] I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and I have ordained all their host.
13 ૧૩ મેં કોરેશને ન્યાયીપણામાં ઊભો કર્યો છે અને તેના સર્વ માર્ગો હું સીધા કરીશ. તે મારું નગર બાંધશે; અને કોઈ મૂલ્ય કે લાંચ લીધા વિના તે મારા બંદીવાનો ઘરે મોકલશે,” સૈન્યોના ઈશ્વર યહોવાહ એવું કહે છે.
I myself have waked him up in righteousness, and all his ways will I make straight: he shall build my city, and my exiles shall he dismiss free, not for purchase-money nor for presents, saith the Lord of hosts.
14 ૧૪ યહોવાહ આ પ્રમાણે કહે છે, “મિસરની કમાણી અને કૂશના વેપારીઓ તથા કદાવર સબાઈમ લોકો એ સર્વ તારે શરણે આવશે. તેઓ તારા થશે. તેઓ સાંકળોમાં, તારી પાછળ ચાલશે. તેઓ તને પ્રણામ કરીને તને વિનંતી કરશે કે, ‘ખરેખર ઈશ્વર તારી સાથે છે અને તેમના સિવાય બીજો કોઈ નથી.’”
Thus hath said the Lord, The labor of Egypt, and the merchandise of Ethiopia, and of the Sabeans, men of high stature, shall pass over unto thee, and thine shall they be: behind thee shall they walk; in chains shall they pass along, and unto thee shall they bow, unto thee shall they pray, [saying] Yea, only among thee is God; and there is no one else beside God.
Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour.
They are ashamed, and also confounded, all of them: together shall they go to confusion that are makers of idols.
17 ૧૭ પરંતુ યહોવાહના અનંતકાળિક ઉદ્ધારથી ઇઝરાયલ બચી જશે; તું ફરીથી ક્યારેય લજ્જિત કે અપમાનિત થઈશ નહિ.
[But] Israel shall be helped by the Lord with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed and not be confounded unto all eternity.
18 ૧૮ જેણે આકાશો ઉત્પન્ન કર્યાં, સાચા ઈશ્વર, યહોવાહ એવું કહે છે, તેમણે આ પૃથ્વી ઉત્પન્ન કરી અને બનાવી, એને સ્થાપન કરી. તેમણે તે ખાલી રાખવા માટે નહિ પણ વસ્તી માટે ઉત્પન્ન કરી છે: હું યહોવાહ છું અને મારી બરોબરી કરનાર કોઈ નથી.
For thus hath said the Lord the creator of the heavens; he, the God that formed the earth and made it; he that hath established it, —not for naught did he create it, to be inhabited did he form it: I am the Lord; and there is no one else.
19 ૧૯ હું ખાનગીમાં કે ગુપ્ત સ્થાનમાં બોલ્યો નથી; મેં યાકૂબનાં સંતાનોને કહ્યું નથી કે, ‘મને ફોગટમાં શોધો!’ હું યહોવાહ, સત્ય બોલનાર; સાચી વાતો પ્રગટ કરું છું.”
Not on a secret spot have I spoken, in a dark place of the earth; I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me for naught; [but] I the Lord speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.
20 ૨૦ વિદેશમાંના શરણાર્થીઓ તમે એકત્ર થાઓ, સર્વ એકઠા થઈને પાસે આવો. જેઓ કોરેલી મૂર્તિઓને ઉપાડે છે અને જે બચાવી નથી શકતા તેવા દેવને પ્રાર્થના કરે છે તેઓને ડહાપણ નથી.
Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye escaped fugitives of the nations! They have no knowledge that carry the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save.
21 ૨૧ પાસે આવો અને મને જાહેર કરો, તમારા પુરાવા રજૂ કરો! તેઓને સાથે ષડયંત્ર રચવા દો. પુરાતનકાળથી આ કોણે બતાવ્યું છે? કોણે આ જાહેર કર્યું છે? શું તે હું, યહોવાહ નહોતો? મારા સિવાય બીજો કોઈ ઈશ્વર નથી, ન્યાયી ઈશ્વર અને તારનાર; મારા જેવો બીજો કોઈ નથી.
Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: Who hath announced this in ancient times? told it from the beginning? is it not I the Lord? and there is no other god without me, a just god and a saviour; there is none beside me.
22 ૨૨ પૃથ્વીના છેડા સુધીના સર્વ લોક, મારી તરફ ફરો અને ઉદ્ધાર પામો; કેમ કે હું ઈશ્વર છું અને બીજો કોઈ નથી.
Turn unto me, so that ye may be helped, all ye ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no one else.
23 ૨૩ ‘મેં મારા પોતાના સમ ખાધા છે, ફરે નથી એવું ન્યાયી વચન મારા મુખમાંથી નીકળ્યું છે: મારી આગળ દરેક ઘૂંટણ નમશે, દરેક જીભ કબૂલ કરશે,
By myself have I sworn, righteousness is gone out of my mouth, a word [which] shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bend, every tongue shall swear.
24 ૨૪ તેઓ કહેશે, “ફક્ત યહોવાહમાં મારું તારણ અને સામર્થ્ય છે.” જેઓ તેમના પ્રત્યે ક્રોધિત થયેલા છે, તેઓ તેમની સમક્ષ લજવાઈને સંકોચાશે.
Only in the Lord, —shall men say of me, —there are righteousness and strength. Unto him shall come and be ashamed all that are incensed against him.
In the Lord shall be justified, and shall glory themselves all the seed of Israel.
