1 ૧ જુઓ, આ મારો સેવક છે, એને હું નિભાવી રાખું છું; એ મારો પસંદ કરેલો છે, એના પર મારો જીવ પ્રસન્ન છે: તેનામાં મેં મારો આત્મા મૂક્યો છે; તે વિદેશીઓમાં ન્યાય પ્રગટ કરશે.
Lo! my Servant, I will uphold him, My chosen, well-pleased is my soul, —I have put my spirit upon him, Justice—to the nations, will he bring forth:
He will not cry out nor will he speak loud, —Nor cause to be heard, in the street, his voice:
3 ૩ છુંદાયેલા બરુને તે ભાંગી નાખશે નહિ અને મંદ મંદ સળગતી દિવેટને તે હોલવશે નહિ: તે વિશ્વાસુપણાથી ન્યાય કરશે.
Cane that is crushed, will he not break, And wick that is fading, will he not quench, —Faithfully, will he bring forth justice:
4 ૪ તે નિર્બળ થશે નહિ કે નિરાશ થશે નહિ ત્યાં સુધી તે પૃથ્વી પર ન્યાય સ્થાપે નહિ; અને ટાપુઓ તેના નિયમની વાત જોશે.
He will not fade, nor will he be crushed, Until he establish, in the earth, justice, And for his instruction, Coastlands, wait.
5 ૫ આ ઈશ્વર યહોવાહ, આકાશોને ઉત્પન્ન કરનાર અને તેઓને પ્રસારનાર, પૃથ્વી તથા તેમાંથી જે નીપજે છે તેને ફેલાવનાર; તે પરના લોકોને શ્વાસ આપનાર તથા જે જીવે છે તેઓને જીવન આપનારની આ વાણી છે.
Thus, saith GOD himself—Yahweh, —Creator of the heavens that stretched them forth, Out-spreader of earth, and the products thereof, —Giver of breath to the people thereon, And of spirit to them who walk therein,
6 ૬ “મેં યહોવાહે, તેને ન્યાયીપણામાં બોલાવ્યો છે અને તેનો હાથ હું પકડી રાખીશ, હું તારું રક્ષણ કરીશ, વળી તને લોકોનાં હકમાં કરારરૂપ અને વિદેશીઓને પ્રકાશ આપનાર કરીશ,
I—Yahweh, have called thee in righteousness, And will firmly grasp thy hand, —And will keep thee And give thee—As the covenant of a people, As the light of nations:
7 ૭ જેથી તું અંધજનોની આંખોને ઉઘાડે, બંદીખાનામાંથી બંદીવાનોને અને કારાગૃહના અંધકારમાં બેઠેલાઓને બહાર કાઢે.
To open eyes that are blind, —To bring forth Out of the dungeon the captive Out of the prison, the dwellers in darkness.
8 ૮ હું યહોવાહ છું, એ જ મારું નામ છે; હું મારું ગૌરવ બીજાને તથા મારી સ્તુતિ કોરેલી મૂર્તિઓને આપવા દઈશ નહિ.
I, am Yahweh, that, is my Name, And, my glory, to another, will I not give, Nor my praise to images.
9 ૯ જુઓ, અગાઉની બિનાઓ થઈ ચૂકી છે, હવે હું નવી ઘટનાઓની ખબર આપું છું. તે ઘટનાઓ બન્યા પહેલાં હું તમને તે કહી સંભાળવું છું.”
Things told in advance, lo! they have come to pass, —And new things, am I telling, Ere yet they spring forth, I let, you, hear them.
10 ૧૦ યહોવાહની સમક્ષ નવું ગીત ગાઓ અને પૃથ્વીના છેડા સુધી તેમના સ્તોત્ર ગાઓ; સમુદ્રમાં પર્યટન કરનાર તથા તેમાં સર્વ રહેનારા ટાપુઓ તથા તેઓના રહેવાસીઓ.
Sing to Yahweh, a song that is new, His praise, from the end of the earth, —Ye that go down to the sea, and the fulness thereof, The Coastlands and ye who dwell therein.
11 ૧૧ અરણ્ય તથા નગરો પોકાર કરશે, કેદારે વસાવેલાં ગામડાં હર્ષનાદ કરશે! સેલાના રહેવાસીઓ ગાઓ, પર્વતોનાં શિખર પરથી તેઓ બૂમ પાડો.
Let the wilderness shout, and the cities thereof, The villages wherein dwelleth Kedar, —Let the inhabitants of the crag, raise shouts of triumph, From the top of the mountains, let them cry aloud:
Let them render unto Yahweh, glory, —And, his praise, in the Coastlands let them tell.
13 ૧૩ યહોવાહ વીરની જેમ બહાર આવશે; તે યોદ્ધાની જેમ આવેશને પ્રગટ કરશે; તે મોટેથી પોકારશે, હા, તે રણનાદ કરશે; તે પોતાના વૈરીઓને પોતાનું પરાક્રમ બતાવશે.
Yahweh, as a hero, goeth forth, As a man of war, he stirreth up jealousy, —He giveth a cry, yea he raiseth a war-cry, Over his foes, he showeth his strength.
14 ૧૪ હું ઘણીવાર સુધી છાનો રહ્યો છું; શાંત રહીને મેં પોતાને કબજે રાખ્યો છે; લાંબા વખત સુધી હું શાંત રહ્યો છું, હવે હું જન્મ આપનાર સ્રીની જેમ પોકારીશ; હું હાંફીશ તથા ઝંખના કરીશ.
I have held my peace from age-past times, I kept still, I restrained myself, —As a travailing woman, I pant, I breathe hard and gasp, all at once!
15 ૧૫ હું પર્વતોને તથા ડુંગરોને ઉજ્જડ કરીશ અને તેમની સર્વ લીલોતરીને સૂકવી નાખીશ; અને હું નદીઓને બેટ કરી નાખીશ અને તળાવોને સૂકવી નાખીશ.
I will lay waste mountains, and hills, And all their vegetation, will I wither, —And I will make rivers to be shores, And lakes, will I dry up:
16 ૧૬ જે માર્ગ અંધજનો જાણતા નથી તે પર હું તેઓને ચલાવીશ; જે માર્ગોની તેઓને માહિતી નથી, તેઓ પર હું તેઓને ચાલતા કરીશ. તેઓની સંમુખ હું અંધકારને અજવાળારૂપ અને ખરબચડી જગાઓને સપાટ કરીશ. આ બધાં કામ હું કરવાનો છું અને તેઓને પડતા મૂકીશ નહિ.
Thus will I lead the blind, by a way they know not, In paths they know not, will I guide them, —I will make the place that was dark before them to be, light. And crooked ways, to be, straight, These things, have I done unto them, And have not forsaken them.
17 ૧૭ જેઓ કોરેલી મૂર્તિઓ પર ભરોસો રાખે છે અને ઢાળેલી મૂર્તિઓને કહે છે, “તમે અમારા દેવ છો,” તેઓ પાછા ફરશે, તેઓ લજ્જિત થશે.
They have drawn back They turn very pale Who have been trusting in a graven image, —Who have been saying to a molten image, Ye, are our gods!
Ye deaf hear! And ye blind look around that ye may see,
19 ૧૯ મારા સેવક જેવો આંધળો કોણ? મારા મોકલેલા સંદેશવાહક જેવો બધિર કોણ છે? મારા કરારના સહભાગી જેવો અંધ અને યહોવાહના સેવક જેવો અંધ કોણ છે?
Who is blind if not my Servant? Or deaf, like, my messenger whom I send? Who is, blind, like an intimate friend? Or blind like the Servant of Yahweh?
Seeing many things, yet thou heedest not, Opening the ears yet he heareth not,
21 ૨૧ યહોવાહ પોતાના દૃઢ હેતુને લીધે, નિયમશાસ્ત્રનું માહાત્મ્ય વધારવા તથા તેના ન્યાયની સ્તુતિ કરવા રાજી થયા.
Yahweh, is well-pleased for his own righteousness’ sake, He magnifieth instruction and maketh it majestic.
22 ૨૨ પણ આ લોક ખુવાર થયેલા તથા લૂંટાયેલા છે; તેઓ સર્વ ખાડાઓમાં ફસાયેલા, કારાગૃહોમાં પુરાયેલા છે; તેઓ લૂંટ સમાન થઈ ગયા છે, તેમને છોડાવનાર કોઈ નથી અને “તેઓને પાછા લાવો” એવું કહેનાર કોઈ નથી.
But, that, is a people preyed upon and plundered, Snared in holes, all of them, And, in houses of restraint, concealed, —They have become a prey, and there is none to deliver, —A booty, and there is none to say—Restore!
Who among you, will give ear to this, —Let him hearken and hear, for an aftertime?
24 ૨૪ કોણે યાકૂબને લૂંટારાઓને સોંપ્યો છે તથા ઇઝરાયલને લૂંટનારાઓને સ્વાધીન કર્યો છે? જે યહોવાહની વિરુદ્ધ આપણે પાપ કર્યું છે તેમણે શું એમ કર્યું નથી? તેઓ તેમના માર્ગોમાં ચાલવાને રાજી નહોતા અને તેમના નિયમશાસ્ત્રનું કહેવું તેઓએ સાંભળ્યું નહિ.
Who gave, as a booty, Jacob. And, Israel, to them who were ready to take prey? Was it not, Yahweh? He against whom we have sinned, And they were not willing, in his ways, to walk, Neither hearkened they to his instruction?
25 ૨૫ માટે તેમણે પોતાનો ઉગ્ર કોપ તથા યુદ્ધનો ખેદ તેમના પર રેડી દીધો. તેમણે તેને ચારેતરફ સળગાવી દીધો, તોપણ તે સમજ્યો નહિ; વળી તેને બાળ્યો, તોપણ તેણે પરવા કરી નહિ.
So he hath poured out, upon him, the glow of his anger, and the strength of battle; And it hath set him aflame round about, yet he knoweth it not, And it hath kindled upon him yet he layeth it not to heart.
