યશાયા 41
1 ૧ ઈશ્વર કહે છે, “હે દ્વીપો, મારી આગળ છાના રહીને સાંભળો; દેશો નવું સામર્થ્ય પામે; તેઓ પાસે આવે અને બોલે, આપણે એકત્ર થઈને ન્યાયના ચુકાદાને માટે નજીક આવીએ.
"Keep silent before me, islands, and let the peoples renew their strength. Let them come near, then let them speak. Let's meet together for judgment.
2 ૨ કોણે પૂર્વમાંથી એકને ઊભો કર્યો છે? કોને ઈશ્વરે ન્યાયીપણામાં પોતાની સેવાને માટે બોલાવ્યો છે? તે પ્રજાઓને એને સ્વાધીન કરી દે છે અને રાજાઓ પર એને અધિકાર આપે છે; તે તેમને ધૂળની જેમ એની તલવારને, અને ઊડતાં ફોતરાંની જેમ એના ધનુષ્યને સોંપી દે છે.
Who has raised up one from the east? Whom he called to his foot in righteousness? He hands over nations to him, and makes him rule over kings. He gives them like the dust to his sword, like the driven stubble to his bow.
3 ૩ તે તેઓની પાછળ પડે છે; અને જે માર્ગે અગાઉ તેનાં પગલાં પડ્યા નહોતાં, તેમાં તે સહીસલામત ચાલ્યો જાય છે.
He pursues them, and passes by safely, Even by a way that he had not gone with his feet.
4 ૪ કોણે આ કાર્ય શરૂ કર્યું અને સંપૂર્ણ કર્યું છે? કોણે આરંભથી મનુષ્યોની પેઢી ને બોલાવી છે? હું, યહોવાહ, આદિ છું, તથા છેલ્લાની સાથે રહેનાર, પણ હું જ છું.
Who has worked and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I, the LORD, the first, and with the last, I am he."
The coastlands have seen, and fear. The farthest parts of the earth tremble. They approach, and come.
Everyone helps his neighbor. They say to their brothers, "Be strong."
7 ૭ તેથી સુથાર સોનીને હિંમત આપે છે, અને જે હથોડીથી કાર્ય કરે છે તે એરણ પર કાર્ય કરનારને હિંમત આપે છે, અને તેણે મૂર્તિને ખીલાથી સજ્જડ કરી કે તે ડગે નહિ.
So the carpenter encourages the goldsmith. He who smoothes with the hammer encourages him who strikes the anvil, saying of the soldering, "It is good;" and he fastens it with nails, that it might not totter.
"But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the offspring of Abraham my friend,
9 ૯ હું તને પૃથ્વીના છેડેથી પાછો લાવ્યો છું અને મેં તને દૂરની જગ્યાએથી બોલાવ્યો છે, અને જેને મેં કહ્યું હતું, ‘તું મારો સેવક છે,’ મેં તને પસંદ કર્યો છે અને તારો ત્યાગ કર્યો નથી.
you whom I have taken hold of from places far away on the earth, and summoned from its border, and said to you, 'You are my servant, I have chosen you and not rejected you.'
10 ૧૦ તું બીશ નહિ, કેમ કે હું તારી સાથે છું. વ્યાકુળ થઈશ નહિ, કેમ કે હું તારો ઈશ્વર છું. હું તને બળ આપીશ અને તને સહાય કરીશ અને હું મારા જમણા હાથથી તને પકડી રાખીશ.
Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.
11 ૧૧ જુઓ, જેઓ તારા પર ગુસ્સે થયેલા છે, તેઓ સર્વ લજ્જિત થશે; તારી વિરુદ્ધ થનાર, નહિ સરખા થશે અને વિનાશ પામશે.
Look, all those who are incensed against you will be disappointed and confounded. Those who strive with you will be like nothing, and shall perish.
12 ૧૨ જેઓ તારી સાથે ઝઘડો કરે છે તેઓને તું શોધીશ, પણ તેઓ તને જડશે નહિ; તારી સામે લડનાર, નહિ સરખા તથા શૂન્ય જેવા થશે.
You will seek them, and won't find them, even those who contend with you. Those who war against you will be as nothing, as a non-existent thing.
13 ૧૩ કેમ કે હું, યહોવાહ તારો ઈશ્વર તારો જમણો હાથ પકડી રાખીને, તને કહું છું કે, તું બીશ નહિ, હું તને સહાય કરીશ.
For I, the LORD your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, 'Do not be afraid. I will help you.'
14 ૧૪ હે કીડા સમાન યાકૂબ, હે ઇઝરાયલના લોકો તમે બીશો નહિ; હું તને મદદ કરીશ.” એ યહોવાહનું, તારા છોડાવનાર, ઇઝરાયલના પવિત્રનું વચન છે.
Do not be afraid, you worm Jacob, and you men of Israel. I will help you," says the LORD, "and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.
15 ૧૫ “જો, મેં તને તીક્ષ્ણ નવા અને બેધારી દાંતાવાળા મસળવાના યંત્રરૂપ બનાવ્યો છે; તું પર્વતોને મસળીને ચૂરેચૂરા કરીશ; પહાડોને ભૂસા જેવા કરી નાખીશ.
Look, I have made you into a new sharp threshing instrument with teeth. You will thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and will make the hills like chaff.
16 ૧૬ તું તેઓને ઊપણશે અને વાયુ તેઓને ઉડાવશે અને તેઓને વિખેરી નાખશે. તું યહોવાહમાં આનંદ કરીશ, તું ઇઝરાયલના પવિત્રમાં આનંદ કરશે.
You will winnow them, and the wind will carry them away, and the whirlwind will scatter them. You will rejoice in the LORD. You will glory in the Holy One of Israel.
17 ૧૭ દુ: ખી તથા દરિદ્રીઓ પાણી શોધે છે, પણ તે મળતું નથી અને તેમની જીભો તરસથી સુકાઈ ગઈ છે; હું, યહોવાહ, તેઓની પ્રાર્થનાઓનો ઉત્તર આપીશ; હું, ઇઝરાયલનો ઈશ્વર, તેઓને તજીશ નહિ.
The poor and needy seek water, and there is none. Their tongue fails for thirst. I, the LORD, will answer them. I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.
18 ૧૮ હું ઉજ્જડ ડુંગરો પર નાળાં અને ખીણોમાં ઝરણાં વહેવડાવીશ; હું અરણ્યને પાણીનું તળાવ અને સૂકી ભૂમિને પાણીના ઝરા કરીશ.
I will open rivers on the bare heights, and springs in the midst of the valleys. I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.
19 ૧૯ હું અરણ્યમાં દેવદારના, બાવળ અને મેંદી તથા જૈતવૃક્ષ ઉગાડીશ; હું રણમાં ભદ્રાક્ષ, સરળ અને એરેજનાં વૃક્ષ ભેગાં ઉગાડીશ.
I will put cedar, acacia, myrtle, and oil trees in the wilderness. I will set fir trees, pine, and box trees together in the desert;
20 ૨૦ હું આ કરીશ જેથી તેઓ આ સર્વ જુએ, તે જાણે અને સાથે સમજે, કે યહોવાહના હાથે આ કર્યું છે, કે ઇઝરાયલના પવિત્ર એને ઉત્પન્ન કર્યુ છે.
that they may see, know, consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LORD has done this, and the Holy One of Israel has created it.
21 ૨૧ યહોવાહ કહે છે, “તમારો દાવો રજૂ કરો,” યાકૂબના રાજા કહે છે, “તમારી મૂર્તિઓ માટે ઉત્તમ દલીલો જાહેર કરો.”
Produce your cause," says the LORD. "Bring forth your strong reasons," says the King of Jacob.
22 ૨૨ તેઓને પોતાની દલીલો રજૂ કરવા દો; તેઓને આગળ આવીને આપણને એ જણાવવા દો કે શું થવાનું છે, જેથી આ બાબતો વિષે અમે જાણીએ. તેઓને આગાઉની વાણી શી હતી તે અમને જણાવવા દો, જેથી અમે તેના વિષે વિચાર કરીએ અને જાણીએ કે તે કેવી રીતે પૂર્ણ થયું છે.
"Let them come near and declare to us what shall happen. Declare the former things, what they are, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or show us things to come.
23 ૨૩ હવે પછી જે જે બીનાઓ કેવી રીતે પૂર્ણ થશે તે અમને કહો, જેથી તમે દેવો છો તે અમે જાણીએ; વળી કંઈ સારું કે ભૂંડું કરો કે જેથી અમે ભયભીત થઈને આશ્ચર્ય પામીએ.
Declare the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that you are gods. Yes, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and see it together.
24 ૨૪ જુઓ, તમારી મૂર્તિઓતો કશું જ નથી અને તમારાં કામ શૂન્ય જ છે; જે તમને પસંદ કરે છે તે ધિક્કારપાત્ર છે.
Look, you are of nothing, and your work is of nothing. He who chooses you is an abomination.
25 ૨૫ મેં ઉત્તર તરફથી એકને ઊભો કર્યો છે, અને તે આવે છે; સૂર્યોદય તરફથી મારે નામે વિનંતી કરનાર આવે છે, અને જેમ કુંભાર માટીને ગૂંદે છે તેમ તે અધિપતિઓને ગૂંદશે.
"I have raised up one from the north, and he has come; from the rising of the sun, one who calls on my name; and he shall come on rulers as on mortar, and as the potter treads clay.
26 ૨૬ કોણે અગાઉથી જાહેર કર્યું છે કે, અમે તે જાણીએ? અને સમય અગાઉ, “તે સત્ય છે” એમ અમે કહીએ? ખરેખર તેમાંના કોઈએ તેને આદેશ આપ્યો નથી, હા, તમારું કહેવું કોઈએ સાંભળ્યું નથી.
Who has declared it from the beginning, that we may know? And before, that we may say, 'He is right?' Surely, there is no one who declares. Surely, there is no one who shows. Surely, there is no one who hears your words.
27 ૨૭ સિયોનને હું પ્રથમવાર કહેનાર છું કે, “જો તેઓ અહીંયાં છે;” હું યરુશાલેમને વધામણી કહેનાર મોકલી આપીશ.
I am the first to say to Zion, 'Look, look at them;' and I will give one who brings good news to Jerusalem.
28 ૨૮ જ્યારે હું જોઉં છું, ત્યારે કોઈ માણસ દેખાતો નથી, તેઓમાં એવો કોઈ નથી જે સારી સલાહ આપી શકે, જયારે હું પૂછું, ત્યારે કોણ ઉત્તર આપશે.
When I look, there is no man; even among them there is no counselor who, when I ask of them, can answer a word.
29 ૨૯ જુઓ તેઓ સર્વ વ્યર્થ છે; અને તેઓનાં કામ શૂન્ય જ છે! તેઓની ઢાળેલી મૂર્તિઓ વાયુ જેવી તથા વ્યર્થ છે.
Look, all of them, their works are vanity and nothing. Their molten images are wind and confusion.
