હોશિયા 5
1 ૧ “હે યાજકો, તમે આ સાંભળો. હે ઇઝરાયલ લોકો, ધ્યાન આપો. હે રાજકુટુંબ તું સાંભળ. કેમ કે તમારી વિરુદ્ધ ચુકાદો આવી રહ્યો છે. મિસ્પાહમાં તમે ફાંદારૂપ બન્યા હતા, તાબોર પર જાળની જેમ પ્રસરેલા છો.
“Hear this, priests! Pay attention, house of Israel! Listen, house of the king! For judgment is coming against you all. You have been a snare at Mizpah and a net spread over Tabor.
The rebels stand deep in slaughter, but I will punish all of them.
3 ૩ હું એફ્રાઇમને ઓળખું છું, ઇઝરાયલ મારાથી છુપાયેલું નથી. કેમ કે હે, એફ્રાઇમ તું તો ગણિકાના જેવું છે; ઇઝરાયલ અપવિત્ર છે.
I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hidden from me. Ephraim, now you have become like a prostitute; Israel is defiled.
4 ૪ તેમનાં કામો તેમને પોતાના ઈશ્વર તરફ પાછા ફરતાં રોકશે, કેમ કે તેઓમાં વ્યભિચારનો આત્મા છે, તેઓ યહોવાહને જાણતા નથી.
Their deeds will not allow them to turn to God, for the mind of adultery is in them, and they do not know Yahweh.
5 ૫ ઇઝરાયલનો ગર્વ તેની વિરુદ્ધ સાક્ષી આપે છે; ઇઝરાયલ તથા એફ્રાઇમ પોતાના અપરાધમાં ઠોકર ખાશે; યહૂદિયા પણ તેમની સાથે ઠોકર ખાશે.
The pride of Israel testifies against him; so Israel and Ephraim will stumble in their guilt; and Judah also will stumble with them.
6 ૬ તેઓ યહોવાહની શોધ કરવા પોતાનાં ટોળું તથા જાનવર લઈને જશે, પણ તે તેઓને મળશે નહિ, કેમ કે તે તેઓની પાસેથી જતા રહ્યા છે.
They will go with their flocks and herds to seek Yahweh, but they will not find him, for he has withdrawn himself from them.
7 ૭ તેઓ યહોવાહને અવિશ્વાસુ થયા છે, કેમ કે તેઓએ બીજા કોઈનાં સંતાનોને જન્મ આપ્યો છે. હવે ચંદ્રદર્શનનો દિવસ તેઓને તેમના વતન સહિત નાશ કરશે.
They were unfaithful to Yahweh, for they have borne illegitimate children. Now the new moon festivals will devour them with their fields.
8 ૮ ગિબયાહમાં શિંગ તથા રામામાં રણશિંગડું વગાડો. બેથ-આવેનમાં ભયસૂચક વગાડો: ‘હે બિન્યામીન અમે તારી પાછળ છીએ!’
Blow the horn in Gibeah, and the trumpet in Ramah. Sound a battle cry at Beth Aven: 'We will follow you, Benjamin!'
9 ૯ શિક્ષાના દિવસે એફ્રાઇમ વેરાન થઈ જશે. જે નિશ્ચે થવાનું જ છે તે મેં ઇઝરાયલના કુળોને જાહેર કર્યું છે.
Ephraim will become a desolation on the day of punishment. Among the tribes of Israel I have declared what is certain to happen.
The leaders of Judah are like those who move a boundary stone. I will pour my wrath on them like water.
Ephraim is crushed; he is crushed in judgment, because he has willingly walked after idols.
So I will be like a moth to Ephraim, and like rot to the house of Judah.
13 ૧૩ જ્યારે એફ્રાઇમે પોતાની બીમારી જોઈ, અને યહૂદિયાએ પોતાનો ઘા જોયો, ત્યારે એફ્રાઇમ આશ્શૂરની પાસે ગયો અને મોટા રાજા યારેબની પાસે સંદેશાવાહક મોકલ્યો. પણ તે તમને સાજા કરી શકે એમ નથી કે, તમારા ઘા રુઝાવી શકે એમ નથી.
When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then Ephraim went to Assyria, and Judah sent messengers to the great king. But he was not able to cure you people or heal your wound.
14 ૧૪ કેમ કે હું એફ્રાઇમ પ્રત્યે સિંહની જેમ, યહૂદિયાના લોકો પ્રત્યે જુવાન સિંહ જેવો થઈશ. હું, હા હું જ, તેઓને ફાડી નાખીને જતો રહીશ; હું તેમને પકડી લઈ જઈશ, તેઓની રક્ષા કરનાર કોઈ હશે નહિ.
So I will be like a lion to Ephraim, and like a young lion to the house of Judah. I, even I, will tear and go away; I will carry them off, and there will be no one to rescue them.
15 ૧૫ તેઓ પોતાનો અપરાધ કબૂલ કરીને મારું મુખ શોધશે; પોતાના દુ: ખના સમયે તેઓ મને આતરુતાથી શોધશે, ત્યારે હું મારે સ્થાને પાછો જઈશ.”
I will go and return to my place, until they acknowledge their guilt and seek my face, until they earnestly seek me in their distress.”
