ઊત્પત્તિ 7

1 ૧ ઈશ્વરે નૂહને કહ્યું, “તું, તારા કુટુંબ સાથે, વહાણમાં આવ, કેમ કે આ પેઢીમાં મારી સમક્ષ તું એકલો જ ન્યાયી માલૂમ પડ્યો છે.

Yahweh said to Noah, “Come, you and all your household, into the ark, for I have seen that you are righteous before me in this generation.

2 ૨ દરેક શુદ્ધ પશુઓમાંથી સાત નર અને સાત નારીને લાવ અને અશુદ્ધ પશુઓમાંથી બે નર અને બે નારીને વહાણમાં લે.

Of every clean animal you will bring with you seven males and seven females. From the animals that are not clean, of them bring two, the male and his mate.

3 ૩ તેની સાથે આકાશના પક્ષીઓમાંનાં સાત નર અને સાત નારીને પણ તારી સાથે લે, કે જેથી જળપ્રલય પછી તેઓની પ્રજોત્પત્તિ વધતી રહે.

Also of the birds of the sky, bring seven males and seven females, to preserve their offspring upon the surface of all the earth.

4 ૪ સાત દિવસ પછી હું પૃથ્વી પર ચાળીસ દિવસ અને ચાળીસ રાત સુધી વરસાદ વરસાવીશ. મેં ઉત્પન્ન કર્યાં છે એ સર્વ સજીવોનો હું પૃથ્વી પરથી નાશ કરીશ.”

For in seven days I will cause it to rain upon the earth for forty days and forty nights. I will destroy from off the surface of the ground every living thing that I have made.”

5 ૫ ઈશ્વરે જે સર્વ આજ્ઞા નૂહને આપી હતી તે પ્રમાણે તેણે કર્યું.

Noah did all that Yahweh commanded him.

6 ૬ જળપ્રલયના સમયે નૂહની ઉંમર છસો વર્ષની હતી.

Noah was six hundred years old when the flood came upon the earth.

7 ૭ જળપ્રલય થવાનો હોવાને કારણે નૂહ, તેના દીકરા, તેની પત્ની અને તેની પુત્રવધૂઓ એકસાથે વહાણમાં ગયાં.

Noah, his sons, his wife, and his sons' wives went into the ark together because of the waters of the flood.

8 ૮ શુદ્ધ તથા અશુદ્ધ પશુઓ, પક્ષીઓ તથા પૃથ્વી પર પેટે ચાલનારાં સર્વ સજીવો હતા,

Clean animals and unclean animals, birds, and everything that creeps upon the ground,

9 ૯ તેઓમાંના દરેક નર તથા નારીની જોડી ઈશ્વરની આજ્ઞા અનુસાર નૂહ પાસે આવ્યાં અને વહાણમાં ગયા.

two by two, male and female, came to Noah and went into the ark, just as God had commanded Noah.

10 ૧૦ સાત દિવસ પછી પૃથ્વી પર જળપ્રલય થયો.

It came about that after the seven days, the waters of the flood came upon the earth.

11 ૧૧ નૂહના આયુષ્યનાં છસોમા વર્ષના બીજા મહિનાને સત્તરમે દિવસે જળનિધિના મોટા ઝરા ફૂટી નીકળ્યા અને આકાશમાંથી મુશળધાર વરસાદ વરસ્યો.

In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on the same day, all the fountains of the great deep burst open, and the windows of heaven were opened.

12 ૧૨ ચાળીસ દિવસ તથા ચાળીસ રાત સુધી પૃથ્વી પર સતત વરસાદ વરસ્યો.

The rain began and fell on the earth for forty days and forty nights.

13 ૧૩ તે જ દિવસે નૂહ, તેના દીકરાઓ શેમ, હામ, યાફેથ તથા તેની પત્ની અને પુત્રવધૂઓ સહિત વહાણમાં ગયો.

On that very same day Noah and his sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and Noah's wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, entered into the ark.

14 ૧૪ તેઓની સાથે પોતપોતાની જાત પ્રમાણે સર્વ વન્ય પશુ, પોતપોતાની જાત પ્રમાણે સર્વ પાલતુ પશુ, પોતપોતાની જાત પ્રમાણે સર્વ પેટે ચાલનારાં અને પોતપોતાની જાત પ્રમાણે દરેક જાતનાં મોટાં તથા નાનાં સર્વ પક્ષીઓ વહાણમાં ગયાં.

They entered along with each wild animal according to its kind, and each sort of livestock according to its kind, and each creeping thing that creeps upon the earth according to its kind, and every sort of bird according to its kind, each kind of creature with wings.

15 ૧૫ સર્વ દેહધારી જાત જેમાં જીવનનો શ્વાસ છે તેમાંથી બબ્બે નૂહ પાસે વહાણમાં ગયાં.

Two of all flesh in which was the breath of life came to Noah and entered into the ark.

16 ૧૬ જેઓ વહાણમાં ગયાં તે સર્વ પ્રાણીઓમાં નર તથા નારી હતાં; ઈશ્વરે નૂહને એ માટેની આજ્ઞા આપી હતી. પછી ઈશ્વરે વહાણનું દ્વાર બંધ કર્યું.

The animals that went in were male and female of all flesh; they entered in just as God had commanded him. Then Yahweh shut the door after them.

17 ૧૭ પછી પૃથ્વી પર ચાળીસ રાત દિવસો સુધી જળપ્રલય થયો અને પાણી વધવાથી વહાણ પૃથ્વીની સપાટી પરથી ઊંચકાઈને તરતું થયું.

Then the flood came upon the earth for forty days, and the water increased and lifted the ark and raised it above the earth.

18 ૧૮ પાણીનો પુરવઠો વધ્યો અને પૃથ્વી પર તે ઘણું ઊંચે ચઢ્યું અને વહાણ પાણી પર તરવા લાગ્યું.

The waters completely covered over the earth, and the ark floated upon the surface of the water.

19 ૧૯ પૃથ્વી પર પાણી એટલું બધું વધ્યું કે પૃથ્વી પરના સર્વ ઊંચા પહાડો પાણીથી ઢંકાઈ ગયા.

The waters rose greatly on the earth so that all the high mountains that were under the entire sky were covered.

20 ૨૦ પર્વતોનાં સૌથી ઊંચા શિખર કરતાં પણ પાણીની સપાટી પંદર હાથ જેટલી ઊંચી વધી ગઈ.

The waters rose fifteen cubits above the tops of the mountains.

21 ૨૧ પૃથ્વી પર ફરનારાં સર્વ પશુઓ, પક્ષીઓ, જાનવરો, વન્ય પ્રાણીઓ, જીવજંતુઓ તથા સર્વ માણસો મરણ પામ્યા.

All living beings that moved upon the earth died—birds, livestock, wild animals, all the living creatures that lived in great numbers upon the earth, and all mankind.

22 ૨૨ કોરી ભૂમિ પરનાં સર્વ, જેઓનાં નસકોરાંમાં જીવનનો શ્વાસ હતો, તેઓ સર્વનો નાશ થયો.

All living creatures who lived on the land, who breathed the breath of life through their noses, died.

23 ૨૩ આમ પૃથ્વીના સર્વ જીવો, એટલે માણસો, પશુઓ, પેટે ચાલનારાં તથા આકાશના પક્ષીઓ પૃથ્વી પરથી નષ્ટ થયાં. માત્ર નૂહ તથા તેની સાથે જેઓ વહાણમાં હતાં તેઓ જ જીવતાં રહ્યાં.

So every living thing that was on the surface of the earth was wiped out, from mankind to the larger animals, to creeping things, and to birds of the sky. They were all destroyed from the earth. Only Noah and those with him in the ark were left.

24 ૨૪ પૃથ્વી પર એકસો પચાસ દિવસો સુધી પાણી છવાયેલું રહ્યું.

The waters stayed upon the earth for a hundred and fifty days.
