ઊત્પત્તિ 28
1 ૧ ઇસહાકે યાકૂબને બોલાવીને તેને આશીર્વાદ આપ્યો અને તેને આજ્ઞા આપી, “કનાન દેશની કન્યાઓમાંથી તું કોઈની સાથે લગ્ન કરીશ નહિ.
And he summoned Isaac Jacob and he blessed him and he commanded him and he said to him not you must take a wife from [the] daughters of Canaan.
2 ૨ ઊઠ, પાદ્દાનારામમાં તારી માતાના પિતા બથુએલને ઘરે જા અને ત્યાંથી તારી માતાના ભાઈ એટલે તારા મામા લાબાનની દીકરીઓમાંથી એકની સાથે તું લગ્ન કર.
Arise go Paddan towards Aram [the] house of towards Bethuel [the] father of mother your and take for yourself from there a wife one of [the] daughters of Laban [the] brother of mother your.
And God Almighty may he bless you and may he make fruitful you and may he multiply you and you will become a company of peoples.
4 ૪ ઇબ્રાહિમને આપેલો આશીર્વાદ ઈશ્વર તને તથા તારા પછીના તારાં સંતાનને પણ આપે અને જે દેશ ઈશ્વરે ઇબ્રાહિમને આપેલો છે જેમાં તું પ્રવાસી છે તેનો વારસો તને મળે.”
And may he give to you [the] blessing of Abraham to you and to offspring your with you to take possession of you [the] land of sojournings your which he gave God to Abraham.
5 ૫ ઇસહાકે યાકૂબને વિદાય કર્યો. યાકૂબ પાદ્દાનારામમાં બથુએલ અરામીના દીકરા અને યાકૂબ તથા એસાવની માતા રિબકાના ભાઈ લાબાનને ત્યાં ગયો.
And he sent off Isaac Jacob and he went Paddan towards Aram to Laban [the] son of Bethuel the Aramean [the] brother of Rebekah [the] mother of Jacob and Esau.
6 ૬ હવે, એસાવે જોયું કે ઇસહાકે યાકૂબને આશીર્વાદ આપ્યો છે અને તેને પાદ્દાનારામમાંથી કન્યા મેળવીને લગ્ન કરવા માટે ત્યાં મોકલ્યો છે. એસાવે એ પણ જોયું કે ઇસહાકે તેને આશીર્વાદ આપતાં આજ્ઞા કરી કે, “કનાન દેશની કન્યાઓમાંથી તું કોઈની સાથે લગ્ન કરીશ નહિ,”
And he saw Esau that he had blessed Isaac Jacob and he had sent off him Paddan towards Aram to take for himself from there a wife when blessed he him and he had commanded to him saying not you must take a wife from [the] daughters of Canaan.
And he had listened Jacob to father his and to mother his and he had gone Paddan towards Aram.
And he saw Esau that [were] displeasing [the] daughters of Canaan in [the] eyes of Isaac father his.
9 ૯ તેથી તે તેના કાકા ઇશ્માએલના કુટુંબમાં ગયો અને પોતાની પત્નીઓ હોવા ઉપરાંત ત્યાંની સ્ત્રી સાથે લગ્ન કર્યું. તે ઇબ્રાહિમના દીકરા, ઇશ્માએલની દીકરી, નબાયોથની બહેન માહાલાથ હતી.
And he went Esau to Ishmael and he took Mahalath - [the] daughter of Ishmael [the] son of Abraham [the] sister of Nebaioth to wives his for himself to a wife.
And he went out Jacob from Beer Sheba and he went Haran towards.
11 ૧૧ તે એક નિશ્ચિત જગ્યાએ આવ્યો અને સૂર્ય આથમી જવાથી ત્યાં મુકામ કર્યો. તેણે તે જગ્યાએથી એક પથ્થર લીધો અને પોતાના માથા નીચે મૂકીને તે ત્યાં સૂઈ ગયો.
And he reached the place and he stayed [the] night there for it had gone the sun and he took one of [the] stones of the place and he put [it] [the] place of head his and he lay down in the place that.
12 ૧૨ તેને સ્વપ્ન આવ્યું. સ્વપ્નમાં પૃથ્વી પર ઊભી કરેલી એક સીડી તેના જોવામાં આવી. તેનો ઉપરનો ભાગ આકાશ સુધી પહોંચતો હતો અને ઈશ્વરના દૂતો તેની પર ચઢતા ઊતરતા હતા.
And he dreamed and there! a stairway [was] placed [the] earth towards and top its [was] reaching the heavens towards and there! [the] angels of God [were] going up and [were] going down on it.
13 ૧૩ તેના ઉપર ઈશ્વર ઊભા હતા અને તેમણે કહ્યું, “હું તારા પિતા ઇબ્રાહિમ તથા ઇસહાકનો ઈશ્વર છું. જે ભૂમિ પર તું ઊંઘે છે, તે હું તને તથા તારા સંતાનને આપીશ.
And there! Yahweh [was] standing on it and he said I [am] Yahweh [the] God of Abraham father your and [the] God of Isaac the land which you [are] lying on it to you I will give it and to offspring your.
14 ૧૪ પૃથ્વીની રજ જેટલાં તારા સંતાન થશે અને એ સંતાનો પૂર્વ, પશ્ચિમ, ઉત્તર તથા દક્ષિણ તરફ દૂર સુધી ફેલાશે. તારામાં તથા તારા સંતાનમાં પૃથ્વીનાં સર્વ કુળો આશીર્વાદ પામશે.
And it will be offspring your like [the] dust of the earth and you will spread out west-ward and east-ward and north-ward and south-ward and they will be blessed by you all [the] clans of the earth and by offspring your.
15 ૧૫ જો, હું તારી સાથે છું, જ્યાં કંઈ તું જશે ત્યાં હું તને સંભાળીશ. આ દેશમાં હું તને પાછો લાવીશ; હું તને ત્યાગી દઈશ નહિ. જે વચન મેં તને આપ્યું છે તે હું પૂરું કરીશ.”
And here! I [am] with you and I will protect you in every where you will go and I will bring back you to the land this for not I will abandon you until that I have done [that] which I have spoken to you.
And he awoke Jacob from sleep his and he said truly there [is] Yahweh in the place this and I not I realized.
17 ૧૭ તે ગભરાયો અને બોલ્યો, “આ જગ્યા કેવી ભયાનક છે! આ ઈશ્વરના ઘર સિવાય બીજું કંઈ નથી. આ સ્વર્ગનું દ્વાર છે.”
And he was afraid and he said how! awesome [is] the place this [is] not this that except [the] house of God and this [is] [the] gate of the heavens.
18 ૧૮ યાકૂબ વહેલી સવારે ઊઠ્યો અને જે પથ્થર તેણે તેના માથા નીચે મૂક્યો હતો તે તેણે લીધો. તેણે તેને સ્તંભની જેમ ઊભો કર્યો અને તેના ઉપરના ભાગ પર જૈત તેલ રેડ્યું.
And he rose early Jacob in the morning and he took the stone which he had put [the] place of head his and he set up it a pillar and he poured oil on top its.
And he called [the] name of the place that Beth-el and but [was] Luz [the] name of the city to the former [time].
20 ૨૦ યાકૂબે પ્રતિજ્ઞા કરી કે, “જો ઈશ્વર મારી સાથે રહેશે અને આ માર્ગ કે જેમાં હું ચાલું છું તેમાં મારું રક્ષણ કરશે, મને ખાવાને અન્ન અને પહેરવાને વસ્ત્ર આપશે,
And he vowed Jacob a vow saying if he will be God with me and he will protect me on the journey this which I [am] going and he will give to me food to eat and clothing to wear.
And I will return in peace to [the] house of father my and he will become Yahweh for me God.
22 ૨૨ અને આ પથ્થર જે મેં સ્તંભની જેમ ઊભો કર્યો છે તે યાદગીરીનું પવિત્ર સ્થાનક થશે અને ઈશ્વર જે કંઈ મને આપશે તેમાંથી હું નિશ્ચે તેમને દશાંશ પાછું આપીશ.”
And the stone this which I have set up a pillar it will be [the] house of God and all that you will give to me fully I will tithe it to you.
