હઝકિયેલ 38
And the word of Jehovah came to me, saying:
2 ૨ “હે મનુષ્યપુત્ર, માગોગ દેશનો ગોગ, જે મેશેખ તથા તુબાલનો મુખ્ય સરદાર છે તેની તરફ તારું મુખ ફેરવ અને તેની વિરુદ્ધ ભવિષ્યવાણી કર.
Son of man, set thy face against Gog, of the land of Magog, prince of Resh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him,
and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, prince of Resh, Meshech, and Tubal!
4 ૪ હું તને પાછો ફેરવીશ અને તારા જડબામાં આંકડી નાખીને તને બહાર ખેંચી કાઢીશ અને તારાં સર્વ સૈન્ય, ઘોડા, ઘોડેસવારો, પૂરા શસ્ત્રસજ્જ, નાનીમોટી ઢાલોથી સજ્જ થયેલો મોટો સમુદાય, જેમાંના બધા હાથમાં તલવારો છે તેઓ,
And I will turn thee about, and put rings into thy jaws; and I will bring thee forth, thee and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed in gorgeous apparel, even a great multitude with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords.
Persians, Ethiopians, and Lybians are with them, all of them with shields and helmets.
6 ૬ ગોમેર તથા તેના સર્વ સૈનિકો, ઉત્તરનો ઘણો દૂરનો ભાગ બેથ તોગાર્મા તથા તેનું આખું સૈન્ય! ઘણાં લોકો પણ તારી સાથે છે તે બધાંને હું બહાર કાઢીશ.
Gomer and all his bands, the house of Togarmah from the north quarters, and all their hosts, many nations are with thee.
Be prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou and all thy host that are assembled unto thee, and be thou their leader!
8 ૮ લાંબા સમય પછી તને યાદ કરવામાં આવશે, ઘણાં વર્ષો પછી તું તલવારથી બચી ગયેલા તથા ઘણી પ્રજાઓમાંથી ભેગા થયેલા લોકોના દેશમાં, એટલે ઇઝરાયલના ઉજ્જડ પડેલા પર્વતો પર આવશે. પણ દેશના લોકોને વિદેશીઓમાંથી બહાર કાઢી લાવેલા છે, તેઓ નિર્ભય રહેશે!
After many days shalt thou be appointed over them. In the latter years shalt thou come into a land that is brought back from the sword, gathered out of many nations upon the mountains of Israel, which had been long desolate; but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell securely, all of them.
9 ૯ તું, તારું સઘળું સૈન્ય તથા તારી સાથેના ઘણા સૈનિકો આવશે, તું તોફાનની જેમ આવશે, દેશમાં વાદળની જેમ છવાઈ જશે.
Thou shalt go up like a storm, thou shalt come like a cloud, to cover the land, thou and all thy bands, and many nations with thee.
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: At the same time shall thoughts come into thy mind, and thou shalt meditate an evil design,
11 ૧૧ તું કહે કે, હું ખુલ્લા દેશ પર એટલે જેઓ કોટ વગરના સ્થળે રહે છે, જેમને દીવાલો કે દરવાજા નથી પણ શાંતિ તથા સલામતીમાં રહેતા લોકો પર હું ચઢાઈ કરું.
and shalt say, “I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell securely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,
12 ૧૨ કે જેથી હું તેઓને લૂંટી લઉં તથા પકડી લઉં, જે ઉજ્જડ નગરોમાં વસ્તી થયેલી છે, પ્રજાઓમાંથી ભેગા કરવામાં આવેલા લોકો જેઓને જાનવર તથા મિલકત પ્રાપ્ત કરવામાં આવેલા છે અને જેઓ પૃથ્વીના મધ્ય ભાગમાં રહે છે તેઓના વિરુદ્ધ હું મારો હાથ લાવું.
to take a spoil and to divide a prey, to turn my hand against the desolated places that have become inhabited, and against a people gathered out of the nations, possessing cattle and goods, dwelling in the heights of the earth.”
13 ૧૩ શેબા, દેદાન, તાર્શીશના વેપારીઓ તથા તેઓના જુવાન યોદ્ધાઓ તને પૂછશે, ‘શું તું લૂંટ ચલાવવા આવ્યો છે? શું તેં સોનું, ચાંદી, જાનવરો તથા સંપત્તિ લઈ જવાને, ભારે લૂંટ કરવાને તારું સૈન્ય એકત્ર કર્યું છે?’”
Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, and all the chiefs thereof, shall say to thee, “Art thou come to take a spoil? Hast thou gathered thy company to divide a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, and to divide great spoil?”
14 ૧૪ તેથી હે મનુષ્યપુત્ર, ભવિષ્યવાણી કરીને ગોગને કહે, પ્રભુ યહોવાહ કહે છે: જ્યારે મારા ઇઝરાયલી લોકો સુરક્ષિત રહેશે, તે દિવસે તને ખબર નહિ પડે.
Therefore prophesy, son of man, and say to Gog, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: In that day when my people Israel dwelleth securely, thou shalt observe it,
15 ૧૫ તું ઉત્તરના સૌથી દૂર આવેલા સ્થાનેથી આવશે, તું તથા મોટું સૈન્ય, સર્વ ઘોડેસવાર મોટો સમુદાય થઈને તથા મોટું સૈન્ય બનીને આવશે.
and thou shalt come up from the regions of the North, thou and many nations with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty host;
16 ૧૬ તું મારા ઇઝરાયલી લોકો ઉપર દેશને ઢાંકી દેનાર વાદળની જેમ ચઢી આવશે. પાછલા દિવસોમાં હું તને મારા દેશની વિરુદ્ધ મોકલીશ, ત્યારે ગોગ મારી પવિત્રતા જોશે અને પ્રજાઓ મને જાણશે.
thou shalt come up against my people Israel like a cloud, to cover the land; in the latter days it shall come to pass, that I will bring thee against my land, that the nations may know me, when I shall be sanctified in regard to thee, before their eyes, O Gog!
17 ૧૭ પ્રભુ યહોવાહ આમ કહે છે: મારા સેવકો, ઇઝરાયલના પ્રબોધકો, જેઓ તે સમયે એવું ભવિષ્ય કહેતા હતા કે વર્ષો સુધી હું તને તેઓના પર આક્રમણ કરાવીશ, તેઓની મારફતે પ્રાચીન કાળમાં હું જેના વિષે બોલ્યો હતો તેઓમાંનો તું એક નથી?
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Art thou not he of whom I spoke in old time by my servants, the prophets of Israel, who prophesied in those days and years, that I would bring thee against them?
18 ૧૮ યહોવાહ મારા પ્રભુ કહે છે: તે દિવસે, જ્યારે ગોગ ઇઝરાયલ પર હુમલો કરશે, ત્યારે મારા રોષનો ધુમાડો ઊંચે ચઢીને મારા નસકોરામાં પેસશે.
And it shall come to pass in that day, in the day when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord Jehovah, that my anger shall ascend in fury.
19 ૧૯ મારા રોષમાં તથા મારા ક્રોધાગ્નિમાં હું પ્રતિજ્ઞા કરું છું કે, તે દિવસે ઇઝરાયલમાં ભયંકર ધરતીકંપ થશે.
For in my jealousy, in the fire of my wrath, have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel,
20 ૨૦ સમુદ્રની માછલીઓ, આકાશના પક્ષીઓ, જંગલનાં પશુઓ તથા પેટે ચાલનારા જીવો તેમ જ પૃથ્વી પરનાં બધાં માણસો મારી આગળ ધ્રૂજી ઊઠશે. પર્વતો તૂટી પડશે અને ખડકો ધસી પડશે અને ભીંત પડીને જમીનદોસ્ત થઈ જશે.
so that the fishes of the sea, and the birds of the heavens, and the beasts of the field; and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the ground, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence; and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.
21 ૨૧ કેમ કે હું તલવારને આજ્ઞા આપીને મારા સર્વ પર્વતો પર તેની વિરુદ્ધ બોલાવીશ, એવું પ્રભુ યહોવાહ કહે છે; ‘દરેક માણસની તલવાર તેના ભાઈની વિરુદ્ધ થશે.
And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord Jehovah, and they shall all turn their swords against each other,
22 ૨૨ હું મરકી, લોહી, પૂર તથા અગ્નિના કરાથી તેને શિક્ષા કરીશ. હું તેની ઉપર તેના સૈન્ય ઉપર, તેની સાથેના બધા લોકો ઉપર ગંધક વરસાવીશ.
And I will contend against him with pestilence, and with blood; and overflowing showers, and great hailstones, fire and brimstone, will I rain upon him and his hosts, and the many nations that are with him.
23 ૨૩ “હું મારું માહાત્મય તથા મારી પવિત્રતા બતાવીશ અને ઘણી પ્રજાઓની દ્રષ્ટિમાં પોતાને પ્રગટ કરીશ ત્યારે તેઓ જાણશે કે હું યહોવાહ છું!”
Thus will I show myself in my greatness and glory, and make myself known before the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am Jehovah.
