હઝકિયેલ 33
And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
2 ૨ “હે મનુષ્યપુત્ર, તું તારા લોકો સાથે વાત કરીને કહે, ‘જ્યારે હું કોઈ દેશ સામે તલવાર લાવું, ત્યારે તે દેશના લોકો પોતામાંના એક પુરુષને પસંદ કરીને તેને પોતાના ચોકીદાર તરીકે નીમે.
Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man from among them, and set him for their watchman:
if, when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;
4 ૪ ત્યારે જો કોઈ રણશિંગડાંનો અવાજ સાંભળીને ધ્યાન ન આપે અને તલવાર આવીને તેને મારી નાખે તો તેનું લોહી તેને પોતાને માથે.
then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning, if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.
5 ૫ જો કોઈ રણશિંગડાંનો અવાજ સાંભળીને ધ્યાન ન આપે, તો તેનું રક્ત તેને માથે; પણ જો કોઈ ધ્યાન આપશે, તો તે પોતાનો જીવ બચાવશે.
He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him: whereas if he had taken warning he should have delivered his soul.
6 ૬ પણ જો તલવારને આવતી જોઈને ચોકીદાર રણશિંગડું વગાડે નહિ, લોકોને ચેતવણી મળે નહિ, જો તલવાર આવીને કોઈનો જીવ લે, તો તે વ્યક્તિ પોતાના પાપને લીધે મૃત્યુ પામશે, પણ હું તેના લોહીનો બદલો ચોકીદાર પાસેથી માંગીશ.’”
But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned, and the sword come, and take any person from among them; he is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.
7 ૭ હે મનુષ્યપુત્ર, મેં તને ઇઝરાયલી લોકો માટે ચોકીદાર બનાવ્યો છે; મારા મુખથી વચન સાંભળીને મારી વતી તેને ચેતવણી આપ.
So thou, son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.
8 ૮ જો હું કોઈ દુષ્ટ વ્યક્તિને કહું, હે દુષ્ટ માણસ, તું નિશ્ચે મૃત્યુ પામશે.’ પણ જો તું દુષ્ટ માણસને પોતાના દુરાચરણથી ફરવા ચેતવણી ન આપે, તો તે દુષ્ટ માણસ પોતાના પાપમાં મરશે, પણ હું તેના લોહીનો બદલો તારી પાસેથી માગીશ.
When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die, and thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way; that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at thine hand.
9 ૯ પણ જો, તું દુષ્ટ માણસને પોતાના દુરાચરણથી ફરવાની ચેતવણી આપે, જેથી તે તેનાથી પાછો ફરે, જો તે તેના દુરાચરણથી પાછો ન ફરે, તો તે પોતાના પાપમાં મૃત્યુ પામશે, પણ તું પોતાનો જીવ બચાવશે.
Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it, and he turn not from his way; he shall die in his iniquity, but thou hast delivered thy soul.
10 ૧૦ વળી, હે મનુષ્યપુત્ર, ઇઝરાયલી લોકોને કહે, ‘તમે આ પ્રમાણે કહો છો કે: અમારાં ઉલ્લંઘનો તથા અમારાં પાપ અમારા માથા પર આવી પડ્યાં છે, અમે તેમાં ક્ષીણ થતા જઈએ છીએ, અમે શી રીતે જીવીશું?’
And thou, son of man, say unto the house of Israel: Thus ye speak, saying, Our transgressions and our sins are upon us, and we pine away in them; how then should we live?
11 ૧૧ તેઓને કહે કે, ‘પ્રભુ યહોવાહ કહે છે મારા જીવના સમ, દુષ્ટ માણસના મૃત્યુથી મને આનંદ થતો નથી, પણ દુષ્ટ માણસ દુરાચરણથી પાછો ફરે, તો તે જીવતો રહે. પાછા ફરો, તમારાં દુરાચરણથી પાછા ફરો, હે ઇઝરાયલી લોકો, તમે શા માટે મૃત્યુ પસંદ કરો છો?’”
Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
12 ૧૨ હે મનુષ્યપુત્ર, તારા લોકોને કહે કે, ‘ન્યાયી માણસ પાપ કરશે તો તેનું ન્યાયીપણું તેને બચાવશે નહિ, જો દુષ્ટ માણસ પોતાના પાપથી પાછો ફરે તો તેની દુષ્ટતાને લીધે તેનો નાશ થશે નહિ. તેમ જ ન્યાયી માણસ પાપ કરશે તો તે પોતાના ન્યાયીપણાથી જીવશે નહિ.
And thou, son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression; and as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness: neither shall he that is righteous be able to live thereby in the day that he sinneth.
13 ૧૩ જો હું ન્યાયી માણસને કહું કે, “તે નિશ્ચે જીવશે.” અને જો તે પોતાના ન્યાયીપણામાં ભરોસો રાખીને અન્યાય કરે, તો હું તેનું ન્યાયીપણું યાદ કરીશ નહિ; તેણે કરેલી દુષ્ટતાને લીધે તે માર્યો જશે.
When I say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his righteousness, and commit iniquity, none of his righteous deeds shall be remembered; but in his iniquity that he hath committed, therein shall he die.
14 ૧૪ અને જો હું દુષ્ટ માણસને કહું કે, “તું નિશ્ચે મૃત્યુ પામશે.” પણ જો તે પોતાના પાપોથી પાછો ફરે અને જે ન્યાયસંગત તથા સાચું છે તે કરે.
Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;
15 ૧૫ જો તે વ્યાજે મૂકેલી વસ્તુ પાછી આપે, તેણે જે કંઈ ચોરી લીધું છે તે પાછું આપે, જો તે જીવન આપનાર નિયમો પ્રમાણે ચાલે અને પાપ ન કરે, તો તે નિશ્ચે જીવશે, તે મરશે નહિ.
if the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had taken by robbery, walk in the statutes of life, committing no iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.
16 ૧૬ તેણે કરેલાં કોઈ પણ પાપ સ્મરણમાં આવશે નહિ. કેમ કે તે ન્યાયપણાથી તથા સચ્ચાઈથી વર્ત્યો છે; એટલે તે નિશ્ચે જીવશે.
None of his sins that he hath committed shall be remembered against him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.
Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal.
When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die therein.
19 ૧૯ અને જ્યારે પાપી માણસ પોતાની દુષ્ટતાથી પાછો ફરીને ન્યાય તથા નીતિ પ્રમાણે વર્તે, તો તેની તે બાબતોને કારણે તે જીવશે.
And when the wicked turneth from his wickedness, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.
20 ૨૦ પણ તમે લોકો કહો છો, “પ્રભુનો માર્ગ અદલ નથી.” હે ઇઝરાયલી લોકો, હું તમારામાંના દરેકનો તમારા આચરણ પ્રમાણે ન્યાય કરીશ.’”
Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways.
21 ૨૧ અમારા બંદીવાસના બારમા વરસના દસમા મહિનાના પાચમા દિવસે યરુશાલેમથી નાસી છૂટેલા એક માણસે મારી પાસે આવીને કહ્યું, “નગર કબજે કરવામાં આવ્યું છે.”
And it came to pass in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth [month], in the fifth [day] of the month, that one that had escaped out of Jerusalem came unto me, saying, The city is smitten.
22 ૨૨ નાસી છૂટેલો માણસ આવે તે પહેલાં સાંજે યહોવાહનો હાથ મારા પર હતો, સવારમાં તે મારી પાસે આવે તે પહેલાં મારું મુખ ખુલ્લું હતું. અને હવે પછી હું મૂંગો નહોતો.
Now the hand of the LORD had been upon me in the evening, afore he that was escaped came; and he had opened my mouth, until he came to me in the morning; and my mouth was opened, and I was no more dumb.
And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
24 ૨૪ હે મનુષ્યપુત્ર, જેઓ ઉજ્જડ થયેલા ઇઝરાયલ દેશમાં વસેલા છે તેઓ એમ કહે છે, ‘ઇબ્રાહિમ એકલો માણસ હતો, છતાં તેણે દેશનો કબજો મેળવ્યો. પણ અમે તો ઘણા છીએ, અમને દેશ વારસામાં આપવામાં આવ્યો છે.’”
Son of man, they that inhabit those waste places in the land of Israel speak, saying, Abraham was one, and he inherited the land: but we are many; the land is given us for inheritance.
25 ૨૫ માટે તેઓને કહે, પ્રભુ યહોવાહ આમ કહે છે: “તમે લોહી પીઓ છો, તમે તમારી નજર મૂર્તિ તરફ ઉઠાવી છે, તમે લોકોનું લોહી વહેવડાવો છો. છતાં શું તમે દેશનું વતન પામશો?
Wherefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD: Ye eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes unto your idols, and shed blood: and shall ye possess the land?
26 ૨૬ તમે તલવાર પર આધાર રાખ્યો છે અને ધિક્કારપાત્ર કાર્યો કર્યાં છે, દરેક માણસે પોતાના પડોશીની પત્નીને ભ્રષ્ટ કરી છે, છતાં શું તમે દેશનો વારસો પામશો?”
Ye stand upon your sword, ye work abomination, and ye defile every one his neighbour’s wife: and shall ye possess the land?
27 ૨૭ તું તેઓને કહે; “પ્રભુ યહોવાહ આમ કહે છે કે, મારા જીવના સમ કે, જેઓ ઉજ્જડ નગરોમાં રહે છે, તેઓ તલવારથી માર્યા જશે. જેઓ ખેતરોમાં રહે છે તેઓને હું જીવતાં પશુઓ માટે ખોરાક તરીકે આપીશ, જેઓ ગઢમાં તથા ગુફાઓમાં રહે છે તેઓ મરકીથી મૃત્યુ પામશે.
Thus shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD: As I live, surely they that are in the waste places shall fall by the sword, and him that is in the open field will I give to the beasts to be devoured, and they that be in the strong holds and in the caves shall die of the pestilence.
28 ૨૮ હું આ દેશને ઉજ્જડ તથા ત્રાસરૂપ કરીશ અને તેના સામર્થ્યના અભિમાનનો અંત આવશે, ઇઝરાયલના પર્વતો વેરાન થશે, તેમાં થઈને કોઈ પસાર થશે નહિ.’
And I will make the land a desolation and an astonishment, and the pride of her power shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, that none shall pass through.
29 ૨૯ તેઓએ કરેલાં ધિક્કારપાત્ર કૃત્યોને કારણે હું દેશને વેરાન તથા ઉજ્જડ બનાવી દઈશ ત્યારે લોકો જાણશે કે હું યહોવાહ છું.
Then shall they know that I am the LORD, when I have made the land a desolation and an astonishment, because of all their abominations which they have committed.
30 ૩૦ હે મનુષ્યપુત્ર, તારા લોકો તારા વિષે ભીંતો પાસે તથા ઘરના બારણા પાછળ વાતો કરે છે; તેઓ એકબીજાને-દરેક પોતાના ભાઈને કહે છે, “ચાલો જઈને યહોવાહ તરફથી આવેલું વચન પ્રબોધક દ્વારા સાંભળીએ.”
And as for thee, son of man, the children of thy people talk of thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, everyone to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the LORD.
31 ૩૧ મારા લોકો વારંવાર કરતા હોય તે પ્રમાણે તારી પાસે આવે છે, તારી આગળ બેસીને તારું સાંભળે છે, પણ તેઓ તે પાળતા નથી. તેઓના મુખમાં સાચા શબ્દો છે પણ હૃદય ખોટા લાભ પાછળ જાય છે.
And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but do them not: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their gain.
32 ૩૨ કેમ કે તું તેઓને કોઈ સુંદર અવાજવાળો અને કુશળ રીતે વાજિંત્ર વગાડનારો હોય તેના જેવો લાગે છે. તારા સંદેશાઓ તેઓના માટે મનોરંજન જેવા હોય છે. કારણ કે તેઓ તારાં વચનો સાંભળે છે, પણ તેઓમાંના કોઈ તેનો અમલ કરતો નથી.
And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.
And when this cometh to pass, (behold, it cometh, ) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them.
