હઝકિયેલ 2

1 ૧ તેણે મને કહ્યું, “હે મનુષ્યપુત્ર, તારા પગ પર ઊભો રહે, એટલે હું તારી સાથે વાત કરીશ.”

This was the vision of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And I saw, and I fell upon my face, and I heard the voice of one that spoke. And he said to me: Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak to thee.

2 ૨ તે મારી સાથે વાત કરતો હતો ત્યારે આત્માએ મારામાં પ્રવેશીને મને પગ પર ઊભો કર્યો; મારી સાથે વાત કરનારની વાણી મેં સાંભળી.

And the spirit entered into me after that he spoke to me, and he set me upon my feet: and I heard him speaking to me,

3 ૩ તેણે મને કહ્યું, “હે મનુષ્યપુત્ર, હું તને જે બંડખોર પ્રજાએ મારી વિરુદ્ધ બંડ કર્યું તેની પાસે એટલે ઇઝરાયલ પ્રજા પાસે મોકલું છું, તેઓ તથા તેઓના પિતૃઓ આજ દિવસ સુધી મારી વિરુદ્ધ પાપ કરતા આવ્યા છે.

And saying: Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious people, that hath revolted from me, they, and their fathers, have transgressed my covenant even unto this day.

4 ૪ તેઓના વંશજો ઉદ્ધત તથા હઠીલા હૃદયના છે. તેઓની પાસે હું તને મોકલું છું. તું તેઓને કહેજે કે, પ્રભુ યહોવાહ એવું કહે છે કે,

And they to whom I send thee are children of a hard face, and of an obstinate heart: and thou shalt say to them: Thus saith the Lord God:

5 ૫ ભલે પછી તેઓ સાંભળે કે ન સાંભળે. તેઓ બંડખોર પ્રજા છે, તોપણ તેઓ જાણશે કે તેઓની વચ્ચે એક પ્રબોધક થઈ ગયો છે.

If so be they at least will hear, and if so be they will forbear, for they are a provoking house: and they shall know that there hath been a prophet in the midst of them.

6 ૬ હે મનુષ્યપુત્ર, તારે તેઓથી કે તેઓનાં વચનોથી બીવું નહિ. ભલે તારે ઝાંખરાં તથા કાંટાઓ વચ્ચે રહેવું પડે, તારે વીંછીઓ સાથે રહેવું પડે, તોપણ તું તેઓનાથી બીશ નહિ. જો કે તેઓ બંડખોર પ્રજા છે તોપણ તેઓના શબ્દોથી તારે ગભરાવું નહિ, કે તેઓના ચહેરાથી ભયભીત થવું નહિ.

And thou, O son of man, fear not, neither be thou afraid of their words: for thou art among unbelievers and destroyers, and thou dwellest with scorpions. Fear not their words, neither be thou dismayed at their looks: for they are a provoking house.

7 ૭ જોકે તેઓ મારા શબ્દો સાંભળે કે ન સાંભળે, તોપણ તારે તેઓને મારા વચન કહી સંભળાવવા, કેમ કે તેઓ તો બંડખોર પ્રજા છે.

And thou shalt speak my words to them, if perhaps they will hear, and forbear: for they provoke me to anger.

8 ૮ હે મનુષ્યપુત્ર, હું જે કહું છું તે સાંભળ. બંડખોર પ્રજાની જેમ તું બંડખોર થઈશ નહિ. તારુ મુખ ઉઘાડ અને હું તને આપું છું તે તું ખાઈ જા!”

But thou, O son of man, hear all that I say to thee: and do not thou provoke me, as that house provoketh me: open thy mouth, and eat what I give thee.

9 ૯ ત્યારે મેં જોયું, તો જુઓ, એક હાથ મારા તરફ લાંબો કરવામાં આવ્યો; તેમાં એક પુસ્તકનું ઓળિયું હતું.

And I looked, and behold, a hand was sent to me, wherein was a book rolled up:

10 ૧૦ તેમણે તે મારી આગળ ખુલ્લું કર્યું; તેની આગળની બાજુ તથા પાછળની બાજુ લખેલું હતું, તેમાં વિલાપ, શોક તથા દુઃખ લખેલા હતાં.

and he spread it before me, and it was written within and without: and there were written in it lamentations, and canticles, and woe.
