હઝકિયેલ 15

1 ૧ ત્યારે યહોવાહનું વચન મારી પાસે આવ્યું અને કહ્યું,

Then the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

2 ૨ “હે મનુષ્યપુત્ર, દ્રાક્ષાવૃક્ષ એટલે જંગલના વૃક્ષોમાં દ્રાક્ષવેલાઓ બીજા કોઈ વૃક્ષની ડાળી કરતાં શું અધિક છે?

“Son of man, how is a vine better than any tree with branches that is among the trees in a forest?

3 ૩ શું લોકો કશું બનાવવા દ્રાક્ષવેલામાંથી લાકડી લે? શું માણસ તેના પર કંઈ ભરવવાને માટે ખીલી બનાવે?

Do people take wood from a vine to make anything? Or do they make a peg from it to hang anything on it?

4 ૪ જો, તેને બળતણ તરીકે અગ્નિમાં નાખવામાં આવે છે ત્યારે જો અગ્નિથી તેના બન્ને છેડા અને તેનો વચ્ચેનો ભાગ પણ સળગવા લાગે છે. શું તે કામને માટે સારું છે?

See! If it is thrown into a fire as fuel, and if the fire has burned both of its ends and also the middle, is it good for anything?

5 ૫ જ્યારે તે આખું હતું, ત્યારે તે કોઈ પણ વસ્તુ બનાવવાને લાયક નહોતું; હવે અગ્નિએ તેને બાળીને ભસ્મ કર્યું છે, ત્યારે તેમાંથી શું ઉપયોગી ચીજ બની શકે?”

See! When it was complete, it could not make anything; surely then, when the fire has burned, then it still will not make anything useful.

6 ૬ તેથી પ્રભુ યહોવાહ કહે છે; જેમ જંગલની દ્રાક્ષાની ડાળીને મેં બળતણ તરીકે અગ્નિને આપી છે; તે પ્રમાણે હું યરુશાલેમના રહેવાસીઓ સાથે કરીશ.

Therefore the Lord Yahweh says this: Unlike the trees in the forests, I have given the vine as fuel for fires; I will act in the same way toward the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

7 ૭ હું મારું મુખ તેઓની વિરુદ્ધ કરીશ. જોકે તેઓ અગ્નિમાંથી બહાર નીકળી જશે તોપણ અગ્નિ તેઓને બાળી નાખશે. જ્યારે હું મારું મુખ તેઓની વિરુદ્ધ કરીશ, ત્યારે તેઓ જાણશે કે હું યહોવાહ છું.

For I will set my face against them. Though they come out from the fire, yet the fire will consume them; so you will know that I am Yahweh, when I set my face against them.

8 ૮ તેઓએ પાપ કર્યું છે માટે હું દેશને ઉજ્જડ કરીશ.” એમ પ્રભુ યહોવાહ કહે છે!

Then I will make the land into an abandoned wasteland because they have committed sin—this is the Lord Yahweh's declaration.”
