And whanne we hadden ascapid, thanne we knewen that the ile was clepid Militene. And the hethene men diden to vs not litil curtesie.
2 ૨ ત્યાંના વતનીઓએ અમારા પર ખૂબ પ્રેમ દર્શાવ્યો. કેમ કે તે વખતે વરસાદ વરસતો હતો અને ઠંડી પડતી હતી તેથી અગ્નિ સળગાવીને તેઓએ અમારા સર્વનો આવકાર કર્યો.
And whanne a fier was kyndelid, thei refreschiden vs alle, for the reyn that cam, and the coold.
3 ૩ પાઉલે થોડાંક લાકડાં એકઠાં કરીને અગ્નિમાં નાખ્યાં, ત્યારે ગરમીને લીધે એક સર્પ તેમાંથી નીકળીને તેને હાથે વીંટળાઈ ગયો.
But whanne Poul hadde gederid `a quantite of kittingis of vines, and leide on the fier, an edder sche cam forth fro the heete, and took hym bi the hoond.
4 ૪ ત્યાંના વતનીઓએ તે પ્રાણીને તેના હાથ પર લટકતો જોઈને એક બીજાને કહ્યું કે, નિશ્ચે આ માણસ ખૂની છે, જો કે સમુદ્રમાંથી એ બચી ગયો છે ખરો, તોપણ ન્યાય એને જીવવા દેતો નથી.
And whanne the hethene men of the ile siyen the beest hangynge in his hoond, thei seiden togidir, For this man is a manquellere; and whanne he scapide fro the see, Goddis veniaunce suffrith hym not to lyue in erthe.
But he schoke awei the beest in to the fier, and hadde noon harm.
6 ૬ પણ તેઓ ધારતા હતા કે, તેનો હાથ હમણાં સૂજી જશે, અથવા તે એકાએક પડીને મરી જશે, પણ ઘણી વાર રાહ જોયા પછી તેઓએ જોયું કે તેને કશું નુકસાન થયું નથી, ત્યારે તેઓએ વિચાર ફેરવીને કહ્યું કે, તે કોઈ દેવ છે.
And thei gessiden that he schulde be turned `in to swellyng, and falle doun sudenli, and die. But whanne thei abiden longe, and sien that no thing of yuel was don in him, thei turneden hem togider, and seiden, that he was God.
7 ૭ હવે તે ટાપુના પબ્લિયુસ નામના મુખ્ય માણસની જમીન તે જગ્યાની નજદીક હતી, તેણે અમારો ઉમળકાભેર આવકાર કરીને ત્રણ દિવસ સુધી મિત્રભાવથી અમારી પરોણાગત કરી.
And in tho placis weren maners of the prince of the ile, Puplius bi name, which resseyuede vs bi thre daies benygnli, and foond vs.
8 ૮ તે વેળાએ પબ્લિયુસના પિતાને તાવ આવ્યો હતો. અને મરડો થયો હતો, પાઉલ તેની પાસે અંદર ગયો, પછી પાઉલે પ્રાર્થના કરી, તેના પર પોતાના હાથ મૂકીને તેને સાજો કર્યો.
And it bifel, that the fader of Pupplius lai trauelid with fyueris and blodi flux. To whom Poul entride, and whanne he hadde preied, and leid his hondis on hym, he helide hym.

10 ૧૦ વળી તેઓએ અમને ઘણું માન આપ્યું, અમે પ્રવાસ શરુ કર્યો ત્યારે અમારે માટે જરૂરી સામગ્રી તેઓએ વહાણમાં મૂકી.

11 ૧૧ ત્રણ મહિના પછી આલેકસાંદ્રિયાનું એક વહાણ શિયાળો ગાળવાને તે ટાપુમાં રહ્યું હતું, તેની નિશાની દિયોસ્કુરી હતી, તેમાં બેસીને અમે રવાના થયા.
And after thre monethis we schippiden in a schip of Alisaundre, that hadde wyntrid in the ile, to which was an excellent singne of Castours.
And whanne we camen to Siracusan, we dwelliden there thre daies.
13 ૧૩ ત્યાંથી અમે વળાંક વળીને રેગિયમ આવ્યા, અને એક દિવસ પછી દક્ષિણનો પવન ફૂંકાવા લાગ્યો, જેથી અમે બીજે દિવસે પુતૌલી આવી પહોંચ્યા.
Fro thennus we seiliden aboute, and camen to Regyum; and aftir oo dai, while the south blew, in the secounde dai we camen to Puteolos.
14 ૧૪ ત્યાં અમને (વિશ્વાસી) ભાઈઓ મળ્યા, તેઓની સાથે સાત દિવસ સુધી રહેવાને તેઓએ અમને વિનંતી કરી; ત્યાર બાદ અમે રોમમાં આવ્યા.
Where whanne we founden britheren, we weren preied to dwelle there anentis hem seuene daies. And so we camen to Rome.
15 ૧૫ રોમમાંના (વિશ્વાસી) ભાઈઓ અમારાં આગમન વિષે સાંભળીને ત્યાંથી આપ્પિયસ બજાર તથા ‘ત્રણ ધર્મશાળા’ નામના સ્થળો સુધી અમને સામેથી મળવા આવ્યા; પાઉલે તેઓને જોઈને ઈશ્વરની સ્તુતિ કરી અને હિંમત રાખી.
And fro thennus whanne britheren hadden herd, thei camen to vs to the cheping of Appius, and to the Thre tauernes.
16 ૧૬ અમે રોમમાં આવ્યા ત્યારે (સૂબેદારે બંદીવાનોને ચોકી કરનારા સરદારને સ્વાધીન કર્યા, પણ) પાઉલને તેના સાચવનાર સિપાઈની સાથે સ્વતંત્રતાથી રહેવાની પરવાનગી મળી.
And whanne Poul hadde seyn hem, he dide thankyngis to God, and took trist. And whanne `we camen to Rome, it was suffrid to Poul to dwelle bi hym silf, with a kniyt kepinge him.
17 ૧૭ ત્રણ દિવસ પછી એમ થયું કે, (પાઉલે) યહૂદીઓના મુખ્ય (આગેવાનોને) બોલાવીને એકત્ર કર્યા અને તેઓને કહ્યું કે, “ભાઈઓ, મેં કોઈનું અહિત કે કોઈની વિરુદ્ધ કશું કર્યું નથી, અને આપણા પૂર્વજોના નીતિનિયમોનો ભંગ પણ કર્યો નથી. તોપણ યરુશાલેમથી રોમન સરકારના હાથમાં મને બંદીવાન તરીકે સોંપવામાં આવેલો છે.
And after the thridde dai, he clepide togidir the worthieste of the Jewis. And whanne thei camen, he seide to hem, Britheren, Y dide no thing ayens the puple ether custom of fadris, and Y was boundun at Jerusalem, and was bitakun in to the hondis of Romayns.
18 ૧૮ મારી તપાસ કર્યા પછી તેઓ મને છોડી દેવા ઇચ્છતા હતા, કેમ કે મને મોતની શિક્ષા થાય એવું કોઈ કારણ ન હતું.
And whanne thei hadden axid of me, wolden haue delyuerid me, for that no cause of deth was in me.
19 ૧૯ પણ યહૂદીઓએ વિરોધ કર્યો, ત્યારે કાઈસાર પાસે દાદ માગવાની મને ફરજ પડી; એમાં મારે પોતાના સ્વદેશી ભાઈઓ પર કંઈ દોષ મૂકવાનો હતો એવું ન હતું.
But for Jewis ayenseiden, Y was constreyned to appele to the emperour; not as hauynge ony thing to accuse my puple.
20 ૨૦ એ જ કારણ માટે મને મળીને મારી સાથે વાત કરવાની મેં આપને વિનંતી કરી, કેમ કે ઇઝરાયલની આશા એટલે કે ખ્રિસ્તને લીધે મને આ સાંકળથી બાંધવામાં આવ્યો છે.
Therfor for this cause Y preiede to se you, and speke to you; for for the hope of Israel Y am gird aboute with this chayne.
21 ૨૧ ત્યારે તેઓએ તેને કહ્યું કે, યહૂદિયામાંથી અમને તારા વિષે કોઈ પત્રો મળ્યા નથી, તેમ જ (અમારા) ભાઈઓમાંથી પણ કોઈએ અહીં આવીને તારા વિષે કંઈ ખરાબ જાહેર કર્યું અથવા કહ્યું નથી.
And thei seiden to hym, Nether we han resseyued lettris of thee fro Judee, nether ony of britheren comynge schewide, ether spak ony yuel thing of thee.
22 ૨૨ પણ તું શું માને છે, તે તારી પાસેથી અમે સાંભળવા ચાહીએ છીએ, કેમ કે લોકો સર્વ જગ્યાએ આ પંથના વિશ્વાસીઓ વિરુદ્ધ બોલે છે તે અમે જાણીએ છીએ.
But we preyen to here of thee, what thingis thou felist; for of this sect it is knowun to vs, that euerywhere me ayenseith it.
23 ૨૩ તેઓએ તેને સારુ એક દિવસ નિયત કર્યો તે દિવસે ઘણા લોકો તેની પાસે તેના ઉતારામાં આવ્યા; તેઓને પાઉલે સાબિતીઓ સાથે ઈશ્વરના રાજ્ય વિષેની સાક્ષી આપી, અને મૂસાના નિયમશાસ્ત્ર તથા પ્રબોધકો ઉપરથી ઈસુ વિષેની વાત સવારથી સાંજ સુધી તેઓને કહી અને સમજાવી.
And whanne thei hadden ordeined a dai to hym, many men camen to hym in to the in. To whiche he expownede, witnessinge the kyngdom `of God, and counseilide hem of Jhesu, of the lawe of Moyses, and profetis, for the morewe til to euentid.
And summe bileueden to these thingis that weren seid of Poul, summe bileueden not.
25 ૨૫ તેઓ પરસ્પર એક મતના ન થયાથી ચાલ્યા ગયા, પણ તે પહેલાં તેઓને પાઉલે કહ્યું કે, પવિત્ર આત્માએ યશાયા પ્રબોધક મારફતે તમારા પૂર્વજોને સાચું જ કહ્યું હતું કે;
And whanne thei weren not consentinge togidir, thei departiden. And Poul seide o word, For the Hooli Goost spak wel bi Ysaye, the profete, to oure fadris,
26 ૨૬ તું એ લોકની પાસે જઈને કહે કે, તમે સાંભળ્યા કરશો પણ સમજશો નહિ, અને જોયા કરશો પણ તમને સૂઝશે નહિ.
and seide, Go thou to this puple, and seie to hem, With eere ye schulen here, and ye schulen not vndirstonde; and ye seynge schulen se, and ye schulen not biholde.
27 ૨૭ કેમ કે એ લોકોનાં મન જડ થઈ ગયાં છે, તેઓના કાન બહેર મારી ગયા છે, તેઓએ પોતાની આંખો બંધ કરેલી છે, કદાપિ તેઓને આંખે દેખાય, તેઓ કાને સાંભળે, મનથી સમજે અને ફરે અને હું તેઓને સાજા કરું.
For the herte of this puple is greetli fattid, and with eeris thei herden heuyli, and thei closiden togider her iyen, lest perauenture thei se with iyen, and with eeris here, and bi herte vndurstonde, and be conuertid, and Y hele hem.
28 ૨૮ તેથી જાણજો કે, ઈશ્વરે બક્ષેલા આ ઉદ્ધાર બિનયહૂદીઓની પાસે મોકલવામાં આવ્યો છે, અને તેઓ તો તે સ્વીકારશે જ.’”
Therfor be it knowun to you, that this helthe of God is sent to hethen men, and thei schulen here.
And whanne he hadde seid these thingis, Jewis wenten out fro hym, and hadden myche questioun, ethir musyng, among hem silf.
30 ૩૦ (પાઉલ) પોતાના ભાડાના ઘરમાં બે વર્ષ સુધી રહ્યો, જેઓ તેને ત્યાં આવતા તે સર્વનો તે આવકાર કરતો હતો.
And he dwellide ful twei yeer in his hirid place; and he resseyuede alle that entryden to hym,
31 ૩૧ તે પૂરી હિંમતથી તથા અટકાવ સિવાય ઈશ્વરના રાજ્ય વિષે તથા પ્રભુ ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્ત વિષેનાં વચનોનો ઉપદેશ કરતો હતો.
and prechide the kingdom of God, and tauyte tho thingis that ben of the Lord Jhesu Crist, with al trist, with out forbedyng. Amen.
