2 શમએલ 22

1 ૧ દાઉદને ઈશ્વરે તેના સર્વ શત્રુઓના તથા શાઉલના હાથથી છોડાવ્યો, તે દિવસે દાઉદે ઈશ્વરની આગળ આ ગીત ગાયું:

David spoke to the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:

2 ૨ તેણે કહ્યું, “ઈશ્વર મારો ખડક, મારો કિલ્લો તે મને બચાવનાર છે.

and he said, "The LORD is my Rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer.

3 ૩ ઈશ્વર મારા ખડક છે. હું તેમના પર ભરોસો રાખીશ. તેઓ મારી ઢાલ તથા મારા તારણનું શિંગ, મારા ઊંચા બુરજ તથા મારું આશ્રયસ્થાન છે, તે મારા ઉદ્ધારક ત્રાતા છે, તેઓ મને જુલમથી બચાવે છે.

My God, my Rock, in him I will take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my savior; from violent people he saves me.

4 ૪ ઈશ્વર જે સ્તુતિને યોગ્ય છે તેમને હું હાંક મારીશ, તેથી હું મારા શત્રુઓથી બચી જઈશ.

I call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies.

5 ૫ કેમ કે મૃત્યુનાં મોજાંઓએ મને ઘેરી લીધો, દુર્જનોના ધસારાએ મને બીવડાવ્યો.

For the waves of death surrounded me, and the currents of ungodliness overwhelmed me.

6 ૬ શેઓલનાં બંધનોએ મને ઘેરી લીધો, મરણની જાળમાં હું સપડાઈ ગયો. (Sheol h7585)

The cords of Sheol were around me. The snares of death caught me. (Sheol h7585)

7 ૭ એવી કટોકટીમાં મારા સંકટમાં મેં ઈશ્વરને વિનંતી કરી; મારા પ્રભુને પોકાર કર્યો; તેમણે તેમના સભાસ્થાનમાંથી મારો અવાજ સાંભળ્યો, મારી અરજ તેમને કાને પહોંચી.

In my distress I called upon the LORD, and I cried out to my God. He heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came into his ears.

8 ૮ ત્યારે પૃથ્વી હાલી તથા કાંપી. આકાશના પાયા હાલ્યા તથા કાંપ્યા, કારણ કે પ્રભુ ક્રોધિત થયા હતા.

Then the earth shook and trembled. The foundations of the mountains quaked and were shaken, because he was angry.

9 ૯ તેમના નસકારોમાંથી ધુમાડો ચઢયો, અને તેમના મુખમાંથી ભસ્મ કરી નાખનારો અગ્નિ બહાર આવ્યો. તેનાથી અંગારા સળગી ઊઠ્યા.

Smoke went up out of his nostrils. Fire out of his mouth devoured. Coals were kindled by it.

10 ૧૦ અને ઈશ્વર આકાશોને નમાવીને નીચે ઊતર્યા, તેમના પગ નીચે ગાઢ અંધકાર વ્યાપેલો હતો.

He bowed the heavens also, and came down. Thick darkness was under his feet.

11 ૧૧ પછી તેઓ કરુબ પર સવારી કરીને ઊડ્યા. વાયુની પાંખો પર દેખાયા.

He rode on a cherub, and flew; and he glided on the wings of the wind.

12 ૧૨ અને તેમણે અંધકારને, પાણીના ઢગલાને, આકાશના ગાઢ વરસાદી વાદળોને પોતાની આસપાસ આચ્છાદન બનાવ્યાં.

He made darkness his hiding place, his canopy around him thick clouds dark with water.

13 ૧૩ તેમની સામેના પ્રકાશથી અગ્નિના અંગારા સળગી ઊઠ્યા.

From the brightness before him his thick clouds passed on, with hailstones and coals of fire.

14 ૧૪ આકાશમાંથી ઈશ્વરે ગર્જના કરી. પરાત્પરે અવાજ કર્યો.

The LORD thundered from heaven. The Most High uttered his voice.

15 ૧૫ તેમણે તીર મારીને તેમના શત્રુઓને વિખેરી નાખ્યા વીજળી મોકલીને તેઓને થથરાવી નાખ્યા.

And he sent out arrows and scattered them, and he shot lightning bolts and routed them.

16 ૧૬ ત્યારે ઈશ્વરની ધાકધમકીથી, તેમના નસકોરાના શ્વાસના ઝપાટાથી, સમુદ્રનાં તળિયાં દેખાયાં, જગતના પાયા ઉઘાડા થયા.

Then the channels of the sea appeared. The foundations of the world were laid bare by the rebuke of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.

17 ૧૭ તેમણે ઉપરથી હાથ લંબાવીને મને પકડી લીધો! પાણીમાં ઊઠનારાં મોજાંઓમાંથી તેઓ મને બહાર લાવ્યા.

He sent from on high and he took me. He drew me out of many waters.

18 ૧૮ તેમણે મારા બળવાન શત્રુથી, જેઓ મારો દ્રેષ કરે છે તેઓથી મને બચાવ્યો, તેઓ મારા કરતા વધારે શક્તિશાળી હતા.

He delivered me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me.

19 ૧૯ મારી વિપત્તિને દિવસે તેઓ મારી વિરુદ્ધ ઊઠ્યા, પણ મારો આધાર ઈશ્વર હતા.

They came on me in the day of my calamity, but the LORD was my support.

20 ૨૦ વળી તેઓ મને ખુલ્લી જગ્યામાં લઈ આવ્યા. તેમણે મને છોડાવ્યો, કેમ કે તેઓ મારા પર પ્રસન્ન હતા.

He also brought me out into a large place. He delivered me, because he delighted in me.

21 ૨૧ ઈશ્વરે મારા ન્યાયીપણા પ્રમાણે મને પ્રતિફળ આપ્યું; તેમણે મારા હાથની શુદ્ધતા પ્રમાણે મને બદલો આપ્યો છે.

The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness. He rewarded me according to the cleanness of my hands.

22 ૨૨ કેમ કે મેં ઈશ્વરના માર્ગોનું પાલન કર્યું છે અને દુરાચાર કરીને હું મારા પ્રભુથી ફરી ગયો નથી.

For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

23 ૨૩ કેમ કે તેમનાં સર્વ ન્યાયકૃત્યો મારી આગળ હતાં; તેમના વિધિઓથી હું દૂર ગયો નથી.

For all his ordinances were before me, and his statutes I did not put away from me.

24 ૨૪ વળી હું તેમની આગળ નિર્દોષ હતો, મેં પાપમાં પડવાથી પોતાને સંભાળ્યો છે.

I was also perfect toward him. I kept myself from my iniquity.

25 ૨૫ તે માટે ઈશ્વરે મારા ન્યાયીપણા પ્રમાણે તથા તેમની દ્રષ્ટિમાં મારી શુદ્ધતા પ્રમાણે મને પ્રતિફળ આપ્યું છે.

Therefore the LORD has rewarded me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his sight.

26 ૨૬ કૃપાળુની સાથે તમે કૃપાળુ દેખાશો, નિર્દોષ માણસની સાથે તમે નિર્દોષ દેખાશો.

With the faithful you show yourself faithful. With the innocent you show yourself innocent.

27 ૨૭ શુદ્ધની સાથે તમે શુદ્ધ દેખાશો, હઠીલાની સાથે તમે હઠીલા દેખાશો.

With the pure you show yourself pure. And with the crooked you show yourself tortuous.

28 ૨૮ દુઃખી લોકોને તમે બચાવશો, પણ ઘમંડીઓને નીચા નમાવવા સારુ તમે તેઓના પર કરડી દ્રષ્ટિ કરો છો. એ સારુ કે તમે તેઓને નીચા નમાવો.

You save a humble people, but the eyes of the proud you will bring low.

29 ૨૯ કેમ કે, હે ઈશ્વર, તમે મારો દીવો છો. ઈશ્વર મારા અંધકારને પ્રકાશિત કરશે.

For you light my lamp. The LORD my God lights up my darkness.

30 ૩૦ કેમ કે તમારી સહાયથી હું સૈન્ય પર આક્રમણ કરું છું. મારા ઈશ્વર થકી હું દીવાલ કૂદી જાઉં છું.

For by you, I run against a troop. By my God, I leap over a wall.

31 ૩૧ કેમ કે ઈશ્વરનો માર્ગ તો સંપૂર્ણ છે. ઈશ્વરનું વચન શુદ્ધ છે. જેઓ તેમના પર ભરોસો રાખે છે તે સર્વની તેઓ ઢાલ છે.

As for God, his way is perfect. The word of the LORD is pure. He is a shield to all those who take refuge in him.

32 ૩૨ કેમ કે પ્રભુ સિવાય ઈશ્વર કોણ છે? અને આપણા પ્રભુ સિવાય ગઢ કોણ છે?

For who is God, besides the LORD? Who is a rock, besides our God,

33 ૩૩ ઈશ્વર મારા ગઢ અને આશ્રય છે તેઓ નિર્દોષ માણસને તેમના માર્ગમાં ચલાવે છે.

the God who girds me with strength, and makes my way blameless?

34 ૩૪ તેઓ મારા પગને હરણીના પગ જેવા કરે છે અને મને ઉચ્ચસ્થાનો પર બિરાજમાન છે.

He makes my feet like those of a deer, and sets me on my high places.

35 ૩૫ તેઓ મારા હાથોને યુદ્ધ કરતા શીખવે છે, તેથી મારા હાથ પિત્તળનું ધનુષ્ય તાણે છે.

He teaches my hands to war, so that my arms bend a bow of bronze.

36 ૩૬ વળી તમે તમારા ઉદ્ધારની ઢાલ મને આપી છે, તમારી કૃપાએ મને મોટો કર્યો છે.

You have also given me the shield of your salvation, and your right hand holds me up, and your help has made me great.

37 ૩૭ તમે મારા પગ નીચેની જગ્યા વિશાળ કરી છે, જેથી મારા પગ લપસી ગયા નથી.

You have enlarged my steps under me. My feet have not slipped.

38 ૩૮ મેં મારા શત્રુઓની પાછળ પડીને તેઓનો નાશ કર્યો છે. તેઓનો નાશ થયો ત્યાં સુધી હું પાછો ફર્યો નહિ.

I pursued my enemies and overtook them, and I did not turn back until they were destroyed.

39 ૩૯ મેં તેઓનો સંહાર કર્યો છે તથા તેઓને એવા વીંધી નાખ્યા છે કે તેઓ પાછા ઊઠી શકે એવા રહ્યા નથી. તેઓ મારા પગ આગળ પડ્યા છે.

And I consumed them, and struck them through, so that they did not rise. And they fell beneath my feet.

40 ૪૦ કેમ કે તમે યુદ્ધને માટે મારી કમરે સામર્થ્યરૂપી પટ્ટો બાંધ્યો છે; મારી સામે ઊઠનારાઓને તમે મારે આધીન કર્યા છે.

For you have equipped me with strength for the battle. You have subdued under me those who rose up against me.

41 ૪૧ વળી તમે મારા શત્રુને મારી આગળ અવળા ફેરવ્યા છે. કે જેઓ મને ધિક્કારે તેઓનો હું નાશ કરું.

You have also made my enemies turn their backs to me, that I might cut off those who hate me.

42 ૪૨ તેઓએ મદદને માટે પોકાર કર્યો પણ તેમને બચાવનાર કોઈ ન હતું; તેઓએ ઈશ્વરને વિનંતી કરી પણ તેમણે તેઓને જવાબ આપ્યો નહિ.

They cry out, but there was none to save; even to the LORD, but he did not answer them.

43 ૪૩ ત્યારે મેં તેઓ પર પ્રહાર કરીને તેમને ધરતીની ધૂળ જેવા કરી દીધા. મેં તેઓને રસ્તાના કાદવની જેમ મસળી નાખ્યાં. તેઓને ચોગમ વિખેરી નાખ્યા.

Then I ground them as fine as the dust on the surface of a path. Like the mud in the streets, I trampled them.

44 ૪૪ તમે મારા લોકના વિવાદોથી પણ મને છોડાવ્યો છે. વિદેશીઓનો અધિપતિ થવા માટે તમે મને સંભાળી રાખ્યો છે. જે લોકોને હું ઓળખતો નથી તેઓ મારી તાબેદારી કરશે.

You also have delivered me from the strivings of my people. You have kept me to be the head of the nations. A people whom I have not known will serve me.

45 ૪૫ વિદેશીઓ લાચારીથી મારે શરણ આવશે. મારા વિષે સાંભળતાં જ તેઓ મારો પડ્યો બોલ ઝીલશે.

As soon as they hear of me they obey me. Foreigners come cringing to me;

46 ૪૬ વિદેશીઓ ક્ષય પામશે અને તેઓ પોતાના કિલ્લાઓમાંથી ધ્રૂજતા બહાર આવશે.

they are not bound in chains.

47 ૪૭ ઈશ્વર જીવંત છે! મારા ખડકની પ્રશંસા હો! મારા ઉદ્ધારરૂપી ખડક સમાન ઈશ્વર ઊંચા મનાઓ.

The LORD lives. Blessed be my rock. Exalted be God, the rock of my salvation,

48 ૪૮ એટલે જે ઈશ્વર મારા વૈરીઓનો બદલો લે છે, જે લોકોને મારી સત્તા નીચે લાવે છે.

even the God who executes vengeance for me, and subdues peoples under me,

49 ૪૯ તેઓ મારા શત્રુઓની પાસેથી મને છોડાવે છે. મારી સામે ઊઠનારા પર તમે મને ઊંચો કરો છો. તમે બળાત્કારી માણસથી મને બચાવો છો.

who brings me away from my enemies. Yes, you lift me up above those who rise up against me. You protect me from the violent man.

50 ૫૦ એ માટે લોકો મધ્યે, હે ઈશ્વર, હું તમારી આભારસ્તુતિ કરીશ; હું તમારા નામનાં સ્ત્તોત્ર ગાઈશ.

Therefore I will praise you, LORD, among the nations, and will sing praises to your name.

51 ૫૧ ઈશ્વર પોતાના રાજાને વિજય અપાવે છે, પોતાના અભિષિક્ત પર, એટલે દાઉદ તથા તેના સંતાન પર, સદા સર્વકાળ સુધી મહેરબાની રાખે છે.”

He gives great deliverance to his king, and shows loving kindness to his anointed, to David and to his descendants, until forever."
