2 રાજઓ 16
1 ૧ રમાલ્યાના દીકરા પેકાહના કારકિર્દીને સત્તરમા વર્ષે યહૂદિયાના રાજા યોથામનો દીકરો આહાઝ રાજ કરવા લાગ્યો.
In the seventeenth year of Pekah the son of Remaliah Ahaz the son of Jotham king of Judah began to reign.
2 ૨ આહાઝ રાજ કરવા લાગ્યો ત્યારે તે વીસ વર્ષનો હતો, તેણે યરુશાલેમમાં સોળ વર્ષ સુધી રાજ કર્યુ. તેના પિતૃ દાઉદે જેમ યહોવાહની દ્રષ્ટિમાં જે સારું હતું તે કર્યું, તે પ્રમાણે તેણે કર્યું નહિ.
Twenty years old was Ahaz when he began to reign; and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: and he did not that which was right in the eyes of the LORD his God, like David his father.
3 ૩ પણ, તે ઇઝરાયલના રાજાઓને માર્ગે ચાલ્યો, જે પ્રજાને યહોવાહે ઇઝરાયલી લોકો આગળથી હાંકી કાઢી હતી તેમનાં ધિક્કારપાત્ર કાર્યો પ્રમાણે તેણે પોતાના દીકરાને દહનીયાપર્ણની જેમ અગ્નિમાં થઈને ચલાવ્યો.
But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, yea, and made his son to pass through the fire, according to the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel.
And he sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree.
5 ૫ આ સમયે અરામના રાજા રસીને અને ઇઝરાયલના રાજા રમાલ્યાના દીકરા પેકાહે યરુશાલેમ પર ચઢાઈ કરી. તેઓએ આહાઝને ઘેરી લીધો પણ તેને જીતી શકયા નહિ.
Then Rezin king of Syria and Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel came up to Jerusalem to war: and they besieged Ahaz, but could not overcome him.
6 ૬ તે જ સમયે, અરામના રાજા રસીને એલાથને પાછું અરામના કબજામાં લીધું, તેણે એલાથમાંથી યહૂદીઓને કાઢી મૂક્યા. અરામીઓ એલાથમાં આવીને ત્યાં વસ્યા, આજ સુધી તેઓ ત્યાં જ છે.
At that time Rezin king of Syria recovered Elath to Syria, and drave the Jews from Elath: and the Syrians came to Elath, and dwelt there, unto this day.
7 ૭ પછી આહાઝે આશ્શૂરના રાજા તિગ્લાથ-પિલેસેરને સંદેશાવાહકો મોકલીને કહાવ્યું, “હું તારો ચાકર તથા તારો દીકરો છું. આવીને મને ઇઝરાયલના રાજા અને અરામના રાજાના હાથમાંથી છોડાવ, તેઓએ મારા પર હુમલો કર્યો છે.”
So Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, saying, I am thy servant and thy son: come up, and save me out of the hand of the king of Syria, and out of the hand of the king of Israel, which rise up against me.
8 ૮ પછી આહાઝે યહોવાહના ઘરમાં અને રાજમહેલના ભંડારોમાં જે સોનું તથા ચાંદી મળી આવ્યાં તે લઈને આશ્શૂરના રાજાને ભેટ તરીકે મોકલી આપ્યાં.
And Ahaz took the silver and gold that was found in the house of the LORD, and in the treasures of the king’s house, and sent it for a present to the king of Assyria.
9 ૯ આશ્શૂરના રાજાએ તેનું સાંભળ્યું અને દમસ્કસ પર ચઢાઈ કરીને તે કબજે કર્યું, ત્યાંના લોકોને બંદીવાન કરી પકડીને કીર લઈ ગયો. તેણે અરામના રાજા રસીનને મારી નાખ્યો.
And the king of Assyria hearkened unto him: and the king of Assyria went up against Damascus, and took it, and carried the [the people of] it captive to Kir, and slew Rezin.
10 ૧૦ આહાઝ રાજા આશ્શૂરના રાજા તિગ્લાથ-પિલેસેરને મળવા દમસ્કસ ગયો. તેણે દમસ્કસની વેદી જોઈ. પછી તેણે તે વેદીનો ઘાટ, નમૂનો તથા બધી કારીગરીનો ઉતાર કરીને ઉરિયા યાજક પર મોકલ્યા.
And king Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, and saw the altar that was at Damascus: and king Ahaz sent to Urijah the priest the fashion of the altar, and the pattern of it, according to all the workmanship thereof.
11 ૧૧ પછી દમસ્કસથી આહાઝે જે રૂપરેખા મોકલી હતી તે પ્રમાણે યાજક ઉરિયાએ વેદી બાંધી. આહાઝ રાજા દમસ્કસથી પાછો ફર્યો ત્યાં સુધીમાં તેણે તે કામ પૂરું કર્યું.
And Urijah the priest built an altar: according to all that king Ahaz had sent from Damascus, so did Urijah the priest make it against king Ahaz came from Damascus.
And when the king was come from Damascus, the king saw the altar: and the king drew near unto the altar, and offered thereon.
13 ૧૩ તેણે વેદી પર પોતાના દહનીયાર્પણ તથા ખાદ્યાર્પણ ચઢાવ્યાં, પોતાનું પેયાર્પણ રેડ્યું અને પોતાના શાંત્યર્પણનું રક્ત તે વેદી પર છાંટ્યું.
And he burnt his burnt offering and his meal offering, and poured his drink offering, and sprinkled the blood of his peace offerings, upon the altar.
14 ૧૪ યહોવાહની આગળ જે પિત્તળની વેદી હતી તેને સભાસ્થાનની આગળથી એટલે યહોવાહના સભાસ્થાનની અને પોતાની વેદીની વચ્ચેથી લાવીને તેણે તે પોતાની વેદીની ઉત્તર તરફ મૂકી.
And the brasen altar, which was before the LORD, he brought from the forefront of the house, from between his altar and the house of the LORD, and put it on the north side of his altar.
15 ૧૫ પછી આહાઝ રાજાએ યાજક ઉરિયાને આજ્ઞા કરી, “મોટી વેદી પર સવારના દહનીયાર્પણનું, સાંજના ખાદ્યાર્પણનું, રાજાના દહનીયાર્પણનું અને તેના ખાદ્યાર્પણનું, તેમ જ દેશનાં બધાં લોકોનું દહનીયાર્પણ, ખાદ્યાર્પણ તથા તેમના પેયાર્પણો જ ચઢાવવાં. દહનીયાર્પણનું બધું રક્ત તથા યજ્ઞનું બધું રક્ત તેની પર જ છાંટવું. પણ પિત્તળની વેદી યહોવાહની સલાહ પૂછવા ફક્ત મારા માટે જ રહેશે.”
And king Ahaz commanded Urijah the priest, saying, Upon the great altar burn the morning burnt offering, and the evening meal offering, and the king’s burnt offering, and his meal offering, with the burnt offering of all the people of the land, and their meal offering, and their drink offerings; and sprinkle upon it all the blood of the burnt offering, and all the blood of the sacrifice: but the brasen altar shall be for me to inquire by.
Thus did Urijah the priest, according to all that king Ahaz commanded.
17 ૧૭ આહાઝ રાજાએ જળગાડીઓની તકતીઓ કાપી નાખી, તેમાંથી કૂંડીઓ લઈ લીધી, હોજને પિત્તળના બળદો પરથી ઉતારીને પથ્થરના ઓટલા પર મૂક્યો.
And king Ahaz cut off the borders of the bases, and removed the laver from off them; and took down the sea from off the brasen oxen that were under it, and put it upon a pavement of stone.
18 ૧૮ વિશ્રામવારને માટે જે ઢંકાયેલો રસ્તો સભાસ્થાનની અંદર તેઓએ બાંધેલો હતો તે, રાજાને પ્રવેશ કરવાનો જે માર્ગ બહારની બાજુએ હતો તે, તેણે આશ્શૂરના રાજાને લીધે ફેરવીને યહોવાહના સભાસ્થાન તરફ વાળ્યો.
And the covered way for the sabbath, that they had built in the house, and the king’s entry without, turned he unto the house of the LORD, because of the king of Assyria.
19 ૧૯ આહાઝનાં બાકીનાં કૃત્યો, તેણે જે કર્યું તે બધું, યહૂદિયાના રાજાઓના કાળવૃત્તાંતના પુસ્તકમાં લખેલાં નથી શું?
Now the rest of the acts of Ahaz which he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
20 ૨૦ આહાઝ તેના પિતૃઓની સાથે ઊંઘી ગયો, તેને દાઉદનગરમાં તેના પિતૃઓની સાથે દફ્નાવ્યો. તેની જગ્યાએ તેનો દીકરો હિઝકિયા રાજા બન્યો.
And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Hezekiah his son reigned in his stead.
