And Zipheis camen to Saul in to Gabaa, and seiden, Lo! Dauid is hidde in the hille of Achille, which is `euene ayens the wildirnesse.
2 ૨ એ જાણીને શાઉલ ઇઝરાયલના ત્રણ હજાર પસંદ કરાયેલા માણસોને પોતાની સાથે લઈને દાઉદની શોધમાં ઝીફના અરણ્યમાં ઊતરી પડયો.
And Saul roos, and yede doun in to deseert of Ziph, and with hym thre thousynde of men of the chosun of Israel, that he schulde seke Dauid in the desert of Ziph.
3 ૩ શાઉલે અરણ્ય સામેના હખીલા પર્વત પર માર્ગની પાસે છાવણી નાખી. પણ દાઉદ અરણ્યમાં રહેતો હતો. તેણે જાણ્યું કે શાઉલ મારી પાછળ અરણ્યમાં આવ્યો છે.
And Saul settide tentis in Gabaa of Achille, that was euen ayens the wildirnesse in the weie. Sotheli Dauid dwellide in deseert. Forsothe Dauid siy that Saul hadde come aftir hym in to deseert;
and Dauid sente aspieris, and lernede moost certeynli, that Saul hadde come thidur.
5 ૫ દાઉદ ઊઠીને જ્યાં શાઉલે છાવણી નાખી હતી તે જગ્યાએ આવ્યો; શાઉલ તથા તેના સેનાપતિ નેરનો દીકરો આબ્નેર સૂતા હતા તે જગ્યા દાઉદે જોઈ. શાઉલ ગાડાંના કોટને ઓથે સૂતો હતો અને લોકો તેની આસપાસ છાવણી નાખી પડેલા હતા.
And Dauid roos priueli, and cam to the place where Saul was. And whanne Dauid hadde seyn the place, wher ynne Saul slepte, and Abner, the sone of Ner, the prince of his chyualrye, and Saul slepynge in the tente, and the tother comyn puple bi his cumpas, Dauid seide to Achymelech,
6 ૬ ત્યારે દાઉદે અહીમેલેખ હિત્તીને, સરુયાના દીકરા અબિશાયને, યોઆબના ભાઈને કહ્યું, “મારી સાથે છાવણીમાં શાઉલ સામે કોણ ઉતરશે?” અબીશાયે કહ્યું, “હું તારી સાથે નીચે ઊતરીશ.”
Ethey, and to Abisai, sone of Saruye, the brother of Joab, `and seide, Who schal go doun with me to Saul in to `the castels? And Abisai seide, Y schal go doun with thee.
7 ૭ તેથી દાઉદ તથા અબિશાય રાતે સૈન્ય પાસે આવ્યા. અને ત્યાં શાઉલ છાવણીની અંદર સૂતેલો હતો, તેનો ભાલો તેના માથાની બાજુએ ભોંયમાં ખોસેલો હતો. આબ્નેર તથા તેના સૈનિકો તેની આસપાસ સૂતેલા હતા.
Therfor Dauid and Abisai camen to the puple in the nyyt, and thei founden Saul lyggynge and slepynge in `the tente, and a spere sette faste in the erthe at his heed; `forsothe thei founden Abner and the puple slepynge in his cumpas.
8 ૮ ત્યારે અબિશાયે દાઉદને કહ્યું, “ઈશ્વરે આજે તારા શત્રુને તારા હાથમાં સોંપ્યો છે. તો કૃપા કરી મને ભાલાના એક ઘાથી તેને ભોંય ભેગો કરવા દે. તેને બીજા ઘાની જરૂર નહિ પડે.”
And Abisay seide to Dauid, God hath closid to dai thin enemy in to thin hondis; now therfor Y schal peerse hym with a spere onys in the erthe, and `no nede schal be the secounde tyme.
9 ૯ દાઉદે અબિશાયને કહ્યું, “તેને મારી નાખીશ નહિ. કેમ કે ઈશ્વરના અભિષિક્તની વિરુદ્ધ પોતાના હાથ ઉગામીને કોણ નિર્દોષ રહી શકે?”
And Dauid seide to Abysai, Sle thou not hym, for who schal holde forth his hond into the crist of the Lord, and schal be innocent?
10 ૧૦ દાઉદે કહ્યું” જીવતા ઈશ્વરના સમ, ઈશ્વર તેને મારશે અથવા તેનો મોતનો દિવસ આવશે અથવા તો તે લડાઈમાં નાશ પામશે.
And Dauid seide, The Lord lyueth, for no but the Lord smyte hym, ether his dai come that he die, ether he go doun in to batel and perische;
11 ૧૧ ઈશ્વર એવું ન થવા દો કે હું મારો હાથ ઈશ્વરના અભિષિક્તની વિરુદ્ધ ઉગામું પણ હવે, તને આજીજી કરું છું, તેના માથા પાસેનો ભાલો તથા પાણીનું પાત્ર લઈ લે. અને પછી જઈએ.”
the Lord be merciful to me, that Y holde not forth myn hond in to the crist of the Lord; now therfor take thou the spere, which is at his heed, and `take thou the cuppe of watir, and go we awei.
12 ૧૨ તેથી દાઉદે ભાલો તથા પાણીનું પાત્ર શાઉલના માથા પાસેથી લઈ લીધાં અને તેઓ ત્યાંથી જતા રહ્યા. કોઈએ તે વિશે જોયું નહિ કે જાણ્યું નહિ, કોઈ જાગ્યો નહિ; કેમ કે ઈશ્વરે તેમને ગાઢ નિદ્રામાં નાખ્યા હતા.
Dauid took the spere, and the cuppe of watir, that was at the heed of Saul, and thei yeden forth, and no man was that siy, and vndirstood, and wakide, but alle men slepten; for the sleep of the Lord `hadde feld on hem.
And whanne Dauid hadde passid euene ayens, and hadde stonde on the cop of the hil afer, and a greet space was bitwixe hem,
14 ૧૪ દાઉદે લોકોને તથા નેરના પુત્ર આબ્નેરને મોટેથી કહ્યું, આબ્નેર તું કેમ ઉત્તર નથી આપતો?” ત્યારે આબ્નેર ઉત્તર આપ્યો “રાજાને ઊંચા અવાજે બોલાવનાર તું કોણ છે?”
Dauid criede to the puple, and to Abner, the sone of Ner, and seide, Abner, whether thou schalt not answere? And Abner answeride, and seide, Who art thou, that criest, and disesist the kyng?
15 ૧૫ દાઉદે આબ્નેરને કહ્યું, “શું તું શૂરવીર માણસ નથી? ઇઝરાયલમાં તારા સરખો કોણ છે? તો શા માટે તેં તારા માલિક રાજાની સંભાળ રાખી નથી? કેમ કે તારા માલિક રાજાનો નાશ કરવા કોઈ આવ્યું હતું.
And Dauith seide to Abner, Whether thou art not a man, and what other man is lijk thee in Israel? whi therfor `kepist thou not thi lord the kyng? `For o man of the cumpanye entride, that he schulde sle thi lord the kyng;
16 ૧૬ આ જે બાબત તેં કરી છે તે ઠીક નથી. જીવતા ઈશ્વરના સમ, તમે મરવાને લાયક છે કેમ કે તમે તમારા માલિક, એટલે ઈશ્વરના અભિષિક્તની સંભાળ રાખી નથી. અને હવે, રાજાનો ભાલો તથા તેના માથા પાસેનું પાણીનું પાત્ર ક્યાં છે તે જુઓ.”
this that thou hast doon, is not good; the Lord lyueth, for ye ben sones of deeth, that kepten not youre lord, the crist of the Lord. Now therfor se thou, where is the spere of the kyng, and where is the cuppe of watir, that weren at his heed.
17 ૧૭ શાઉલે દાઉદનો અવાજ ઓળખીને કહ્યું, “હે મારા દીકરા દાઉદ, શું આ તારો અવાજ છે?” દાઉદે કહ્યું કે, “હે મારા માલિક રાજા, એ મારો અવાજ છે.”
Forsothe Saul knew the vois of Dauid, and seide, Whether this vois is thin, my sone Dauid? And Dauid seide, My lord the kyng, it is my vois.
18 ૧૮ તેણે કહ્યું, “શા માટે મારા માલિક પોતાના સેવકની પાછળ લાગ્યા છે? મેં શું કર્યું છે? મારા હાથમાં શું દુષ્ટતા છે?
And Dauid seide, For what cause pursueth my lord his seruaunt? What haue Y do, ether what yuel is in myn hond? Now therfor,
19 ૧૯ તેથી હવે, મારા માલિક રાજાએ કૃપા કરીને પોતાના દાસનાં વચન સાંભળવાં. જો ઈશ્વરે તમને મારી વિરુદ્ધ ઉશ્કેર્યા હોય, તો તેમને આ અર્પણનો અંગીકાર કરવા દો; પણ જો તે માનવ જાતનું કામ હોય, તો તે માણસો ઈશ્વરની આગળ શાપિત થાઓ, કેમ કે તેઓએ મને આજે કાઢી મૂક્યો છે કે, હું ઈશ્વરના વારસાનો ભાગીદાર ના બનું. તેઓએ મને કહ્યું, ‘જા અને બીજા દેવોની ઉપાસના કર.’
my lord the kyng, Y preye, here the wordis of thi seruaunt; if the Lord stirith thee ayens me, the sacrifice be smellid; forsothe if sones of men stiren thee, thei ben cursid in the siyt of the Lord, whiche han cast me out `to dai, that Y dwelle not in the erytage of the Lord, and seien, Go thou, serue thou alien goddis.
20 ૨૦ તેથી હવે, મારું લોહી ઈશ્વરની સમક્ષતાથી દૂરની ભૂમિ પર ના પડો; કેમ કે જેમ કોઈ પર્વત પર તીતરનો શિકાર કરતો હોય, તેમ ઇઝરાયલના રાજા એક ચાંચડને શોધવા નીકળી આવ્યા છે.”
And now my blood be not sched out in the erthe bifor the Lord; for the kyng of Israel yede out, that he seke a quike fle, as a partrich is pursuede in hillis.
21 ૨૧ પછી શાઉલે કહ્યું, “મેં પાપ કર્યું છે. મારા દીકરા દાઉદ, પાછો આવ; કેમ કે હવે પછી હું તને ઈજા નહિ કરું. આજે તારી નજરમાં મારો જીવ મૂલ્યવાન હતો. જો, મેં મૂર્ખાઈ કરી છે અને ઘણી ભૂલ કરી છે.”
And Saul seide, Y synnede; turne ayen, my sone Dauid, for Y schal no more do yuel to thee, for my lijf was precious to day in thin iyen; for it semeth, that Y dide folili, and Y vnknew ful many thingis.
22 ૨૨ દાઉદે જવાબ આપ્યો કે” હે રાજા, જુઓ, તમારો ભાલો અહીં છે! જુવાન પુરુષોમાંથી કોઈ એક અહીં આવીને તે લઈ જાય.
And Dauid answeride and seide, Lo! the spere of the kyng, oon of the `children of the kyng passe, and take it; forsothe the Lord schal yelde to ech man bi his riytfulnesse and feith;
23 ૨૩ ઈશ્વર દરેક માણસને તેના ન્યાયીપણાનું તથા તેના વિશ્વાસુપણાનું ફળ આપશે; કેમ કે ઈશ્વરે તમને આજે મારા હાથમાં સોંપ્યાં હતા, પણ મેં ઈશ્વરના અભિષિક્તની વિરુદ્ધ મારો હાથ ઉગામવાની અપેક્ષા રાખી નહિ.
for the Lord bitook thee to dai in to myn hond, and Y nolde holde forth myn hond in to the crist of the Lord;
24 ૨૪ અને જો, જેમ તારો જીવ આજે મારી દ્રષ્ટિમાં ઘણો મૂલ્યવાન હતો, તેમ મારો જીવ ઈશ્વરની દ્રષ્ટિમાં ઘણો મૂલ્યવાન થાઓ અને તે મને સર્વ સંકટોમાંથી ઉગારો.”
and as thi lijf is magnified to dai in myn iyen, so my lijf be magnyfied in the iyen of the Lord, and delyuere he me fro al angwisch.
25 ૨૫ પછી શાઉલે દાઉદને કહ્યું, “મારા દીકરા દાઉદ, તું આશીર્વાદિત થા, કે જેથી તું પરાક્રમી કૃત્યો કરે અને પછી તું નિશ્ચે ફતેહ પામે.” તેથી દાઉદ પોતાને રસ્તે ગયો અને શાઉલ પોતાના સ્થળે પાછો ગયો.
Therfor Saul seide to Dauid, Blessid be thou, my sone Dauid; and sotheli thou doynge schalt do, and thou myyti schalt be myyti. Therfor Dauid yede in to his weie, and Saul turnede ayen in to his place.
