Then they told David, saying, Behold, the Philistines fight against Keilah, and they rob the threshing floors.
2 ૨ તેથી દાઉદે સહાય માટે ઈશ્વરને પ્રાર્થના કરીને તેમને પૂછ્યું, “હું જઈને આ પલિસ્તીઓ પર હુમલો કરું?” ઈશ્વરે દાઉદને કહ્યું, “જા અને પલિસ્તીઓને મારીને કઈલાને બચાવ.”
Therefore David inquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go and smite these Philistines? And the LORD said to David, Go, and smite the Philistines, and save Keilah.
3 ૩ દાઉદના માણસોએ તેને કહ્યું કે, “જો, અમને અહીં યહૂદિયામાં ભય લાગે છે. તો પછી કઈલામાં પલિસ્તીઓનાં સૈન્યોની સામે જતા કેટલો વિશેષ ભય લાગશે?”
And David’s men said to him, Behold, we be afraid here in Judah: how much more then if we come to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?
4 ૪ પછી દાઉદે ફરીથી ઈશ્વરને પ્રાર્થના કરી. ઈશ્વરે તેને જવાબ આપ્યો, “ઊઠીને, કઈલા પર આક્રમણ કર. હું તને પલિસ્તીઓની ઉપર વિજય અપાવીશ.”
Then David inquired of the LORD yet again. And the LORD answered him and said, Arise, go down to Keilah; for I will deliver the Philistines into your hand.
5 ૫ દાઉદ તથા તેના માણસો કઈલામાં ગયા અને પલિસ્તીઓ સાથે યુદ્ધ કર્યું. તેઓએ તેમનાં જાનવરોને દૂર લઈ જઈને હુમલો કર્યો. અને તેઓનો સંહાર કર્યો. એમ દાઉદે કઈલા રહેવાસીઓને બચાવ્યા.
So David and his men went to Keilah, and fought with the Philistines, and brought away their cattle, and smote them with a great slaughter. So David saved the inhabitants of Keilah.
6 ૬ જયારે અહીમેલેખનો દીકરો અબ્યાથાર દાઉદ પાસે કઈલામાં નાસી આવ્યો, ત્યારે તે પોતાના હાથમાં એક એફોદ લેતો આવ્યો હતો.
And it came to pass, when Abiathar the son of Ahimelech fled to David to Keilah, that he came down with an ephod in his hand.
7 ૭ શાઉલને સમાચાર મળ્યા કે દાઉદ કઈલામાં છે. ત્યારે તેણે કહ્યું, “હવે ઈશ્વરે તેને મારા હાથમાં સોંપી દીધો છે. કેમ કે તે અંદરથી બંધ હોય દરવાજાવાળા નગરમાં પ્રવેશ્યો છે. તે સપડાઈ ગયો છે.”
And it was told Saul that David was come to Keilah. And Saul said, God has delivered him into my hand; for he is shut in, by entering into a town that has gates and bars.
And Saul called all the people together to war, to go down to Keilah, to besiege David and his men.
9 ૯ દાઉદ જાણતો હતો કે શાઉલ તેની વિરુદ્ધ ઉપદ્રવ કરવાની યુક્તિઓ રચે છે. તેણે અબ્યાથાર યાજકને કહ્યું, “એફોદ અહીં લાવ.”
And David knew that Saul secretly practiced mischief against him; and he said to Abiathar the priest, Bring here the ephod.
10 ૧૦ પછી દાઉદે કહ્યું, “પ્રભુ, ઇઝરાયલના ઈશ્વર, તમારા સેવકે નક્કી સાંભળ્યું છે કે મારે લીધે નગરનો નાશ કરવાને શાઉલ કઈલા પર ચઢાઈ કરવાની તક શોધે છે.
Then said David, O LORD God of Israel, your servant has certainly heard that Saul seeks to come to Keilah, to destroy the city for my sake.
11 ૧૧ કઈલાના માણસો શું મને તેના હાથમાં સોંપી દેશે? તમારા સેવકના સાંભળ્યાં મુજબ શું શાઉલ અહીં આવશે? પ્રભુ, ઇઝરાયલના ઈશ્વર, હું તમને આજીજી કરું છું, કૃપા કરી તમારા સેવકને જણાવો.” ઈશ્વરે કહ્યું, “તે ચઢાઈ કરશે.”
Will the men of Keilah deliver me up into his hand? will Saul come down, as your servant has heard? O LORD God of Israel, I beseech you, tell your servant. And the LORD said, He will come down.
12 ૧૨ ત્યાર પછી દાઉદે કહ્યું, “શું કઈલાના માણસો મને તથા મારા માણસોને શાઉલના હાથમાં સોંપી દેશે?” ઈશ્વરે કહ્યું, “તેઓ તને સોંપી દેશે.”
Then said David, Will the men of Keilah deliver me and my men into the hand of Saul? And the LORD said, They will deliver you up.
13 ૧૩ ત્યારે દાઉદ તથા તેના માણસો, જે આશરે છસો હતા, તેઓ ઊઠીને કઈલામાંથી રવાના થયા અને જવાય ત્યાં જતા રહ્યા. શાઉલને સમાચાર મળ્યા કે દાઉદ કઈલામાંથી નાસી ગયો છે તેથી શાઉલે ત્યાં જવાનું બંધ રાખ્યું.
Then David and his men, which were about six hundred, arose and departed out of Keilah, and went wherever they could go. And it was told Saul that David was escaped from Keilah; and he declined to go forth.
14 ૧૪ દાઉદ અરણ્યમાં મજબૂત મિલોઓમાં અને ઝીફના અરણ્યમાં પહાડી પ્રદેશમાં રહ્યો. શાઉલ તેને દરરોજ શોધતો હતો, પણ ઈશ્વરે તેને તેના હાથમાં લાગવા દીધો નહિ.
And David stayed in the wilderness in strong holds, and remained in a mountain in the wilderness of Ziph. And Saul sought him every day, but God delivered him not into his hand.
And David saw that Saul was come out to seek his life: and David was in the wilderness of Ziph in a wood.
16 ૧૬ ત્યાર પછી શાઉલનો દીકરો યોનાથાન ઊઠીને હોરેશમાં દાઉદ પાસે ગયો અને તેના હાથ ઈશ્વરમાં મજબૂત કર્યા.
And Jonathan Saul’s son arose, and went to David into the wood, and strengthened his hand in God.
17 ૧૭ યોનાથાને તેને કહ્યું, “બીશ નહિ. કેમ કે મારા પિતા શાઉલનો હાથ તને પકડી પાડી શકશે નહિ. તું ઇઝરાયલ પર રાજા થશે અને હું તારાથી બીજે દરજ્જે હોઈશ. મારા પિતા શાઉલ પણ આ જાણે છે.”
And he said to him, Fear not: for the hand of Saul my father shall not find you; and you shall be king over Israel, and I shall be next to you; and that also Saul my father knows.
And they two made a covenant before the LORD: and David stayed in the wood, and Jonathan went to his house.
19 ૧૯ પછી ઝીફીઓએ ગિબયામાં શાઉલ પાસે આવીને કહ્યું, “શું દાઉદ હોરેશના કિલ્લાઓમાં અમારી મધ્યે સંતાઈ રહ્યો નથી? એ કિલ્લા હખીલા પર્વત પર, એટલે દક્ષિણના અરણ્ય તરફ આવેલા છે.
Then came up the Ziphites to Saul to Gibeah, saying, Does not David hide himself with us in strong holds in the wood, in the hill of Hachilah, which is on the south of Jeshimon?
20 ૨૦ માટે હવે, હે રાજા, ત્યાં આવવા માટેની તમારા હૃદયની સઘળી ઇચ્છા પ્રમાણે કરો. અમે તમને તમારા હાથમાં સોંપી દઈશું.”
Now therefore, O king, come down according to all the desire of your soul to come down; and our part shall be to deliver him into the king’s hand.
And Saul said, Blessed be you of the LORD; for you have compassion on me.
22 ૨૨ જાઓ, તે વિષે હજી વધારે નક્કી કરીને જાણો અને શોધો કે તેની સંતાવાની જગ્યા ક્યાં છે અને ત્યાં તેને કોણે જોયો છે. કેમ કે મને ખબર મળી છે કે તે ઘણો ચાલાક છે.
Go, I pray you, prepare yet, and know and see his place where his haunt is, and who has seen him there: for it is told me that he deals very subtly.
23 ૨૩ માટે જુઓ, તેની સંતાઈ રહેવાની સર્વ જગ્યાઓ જાણી લઈને, સાચી માહિતી લઈને મારી પાસે આવજો, એટલે હું તમારી સાથે આવીશ, જો તે દેશમાં હશે, તો હું તેને યહૂદિયાના હજારોમાંથી માણસો શોધી કાઢીશ.”
See therefore, and take knowledge of all the lurking places where he hides himself, and come you again to me with the certainty, and I will go with you: and it shall come to pass, if he be in the land, that I will search him out throughout all the thousands of Judah.
24 ૨૪ પછી તેઓ ઊઠીને શાઉલની અગાઉ ઝીફમાં ગયા. દાઉદ અને તેના માણસો માઓન રાનમાં, અરણ્યની દક્ષિણે અરાબામાં હતા.
And they arose, and went to Ziph before Saul: but David and his men were in the wilderness of Maon, in the plain on the south of Jeshimon.
25 ૨૫ શાઉલ તથા તેના માણસો તેને શોધવા ગયા. અને દાઉદને તેની ખબર મળી, ત્યારે તે ઊતરીને ખડકાળ પર્વત પાસે આવીને માઓનના અરણ્યમાં રહ્યો. જયારે શાઉલે તે સાંભળ્યું, ત્યારે તે માઓનના અરણ્યમાં દાઉદની પાછળ પડ્યો.
Saul also and his men went to seek him. And they told David; why he came down into a rock, and stayed in the wilderness of Maon. And when Saul heard that, he pursued after David in the wilderness of Maon.
26 ૨૬ શાઉલ પર્વતની એક બાજુએ ગયો અને દાઉદ તથા તેના માણસો પર્વતની પેલી બાજુએ ગયા. દાઉદે શાઉલને લીધે ત્યાં છટકી જવા માટે ઉતાવળ કરી. કેમ કે શાઉલ તથા તેના માણસો દાઉદ તથા તેના માણસોને પકડવા માટે તેમને ઘેરી લીધા હતા.
And Saul went on this side of the mountain, and David and his men on that side of the mountain: and David made haste to get away for fear of Saul; for Saul and his men compassed David and his men round about to take them.
But there came a messenger to Saul, saying, Haste you, and come; for the Philistines have invaded the land.
28 ૨૮ પછી શાઉલ દાઉદનો પીછો કરવાને બદલે પાછો વળીને પલિસ્તીઓની સામે ગયો. એ માટે તે જગ્યાનું નામ તેઓએ સેલા-હામ્માહલકોથ પાડયું.
Why Saul returned from pursuing after David, and went against the Philistines: therefore they called that place Selahammahlekoth.
And David went up from there, and dwelled in strong holds at Engedi.
