યોહાનનો પહેલો પત્ર 3
1 ૧ જુઓ, પિતાએ આપણા પર એટલો પ્રેમ રાખ્યો છે કે, આપણે ઈશ્વરના બાળકો કહેવાઈએ છીએ અને ખરેખર આપણે તેમના બાળકો છીએ. તેથી માનવજગત આપણને ઓળખતું નથી, કેમ કે તેમણે તેમને ઓળખ્યા નહિ.
See what kind of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God; and we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know him.
2 ૨ પ્રિયો, હાલ આપણે ઈશ્વરનાં સંતાનો છીએ અને આપણે કેવાં થઈશું, તે હજી સુધી પ્રગટ થયું નથી. આપણે તો જાણીએ છીએ, કે જયારે ખ્રિસ્ત પ્રગટ થશે, ત્યારે તેમના જેવા આપણે થઈશું, કેમ કે જેવા તે છે, તેવા જ આપણે તેમને જોઈશું.
Beloved, now we are children of God, and it is not yet revealed what we will be. We know that, when he is revealed, we will be like him; for we will see him just as he is.
Everyone who has this hope set on him purifies himself, even as he is pure.
Everyone who sins also commits lawlessness. Sin is lawlessness.
You know that he was revealed to take away sins, and in him is no sin.
6 ૬ જે કોઈ તેમનાંમાં રહે છે, પાપમાં ચાલુ રહેતો નથી, જે પાપ કર્યાં જ કરે છે તેણે તેમને જોયો નથી અને તેમને ઓળખતો પણ નથી.
Whoever remains in him does not sin. Whoever sins hasn't seen him, neither knows him.
Children, let no one lead you astray. He who does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8 ૮ જે પાપ કરે છે તે શેતાનનો છે, કેમ કે શેતાન આરંભથી પાપ કરતો આવ્યો છે; શેતાનના કામનો નાશ કરવાને ઈશ્વરના પુત્ર આપણા માટે પ્રગટ થયા.
He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed, to destroy the works of the devil.
9 ૯ દરેક જે ઈશ્વરથી જન્મેલો છે તે પાપ કરતો નથી, કેમ કે તેમનું બીજ તેમનાંમાં રહે છે; અને તે પાપ કરી શકતો નથી, કેમ કે તે ઈશ્વરથી જન્મેલો છે.
Whoever is born of God does not commit sin, because his seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10 ૧૦ ઈશ્વરનાં બાળકો તથા શેતાનના છોકરાં ઓળખાઈ આવે છે. જે કોઈ ન્યાયીપણું કરતો નથી, જે પોતાના ભાઈ પર પ્રેમ કરતો નથી, તે ઈશ્વરનો નથી.
In this the children of God are revealed, and the children of the devil. Whoever does not do righteousness is not of God, neither is he who does not love his brother.
For this is the message which you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another;
12 ૧૨ જેમ કાઈન દુષ્ટનો હતો અને પોતાના ભાઈને મારી નાખ્યો, તેના જેવા આપણે થવું જોઈએ નહિ; તેણે શા માટે તેને મારી નાખ્યો? એ માટે કે તેના કામ ખરાબ હતાં અને તેના ભાઈનાં કામ ન્યાયી હતાં.
unlike Cain, who was of the evil one, and killed his brother. Why did he kill him? Because his works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
Therefore do not be surprised, brothers, if the world hates you.
14 ૧૪ આપણે ભાઈઓ પર પ્રેમ રાખીએ છીએ એથી આપણે જાણીએ છીએ કે મરણમાંથી નીકળીને જીવનમાં આવ્યા છીએ; જે પ્રેમ રાખતો નથી તે મરણમાં રહે છે.
We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. He who does not love remains in death.
15 ૧૫ દરેક જે પોતાના ભાઈ પર દ્વેષ રાખે છે તે હત્યારો છે. અને તમે જાણો છો કે કોઈ હત્યારામાં અનંતજીવન રહેતું નથી. (aiōnios g166)
Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has everlasting life remaining in him. (aiōnios g166)
16 ૧૬ એથી પ્રેમ શું છે તે આપણે જાણીએ છીએ, કેમ કે તેમણે પોતાનો પ્રાણ આપણે માટે આપ્યો; એમ જ આપણે પણ ભાઈઓને માટે આપણો પ્રાણ આપવો જોઈએ.
By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
17 ૧૭ પણ જેની પાસે આ દુનિયાનું દ્રવ્ય હોય અને પોતાના ભાઈને તેની જરૂરિયાત છે એવું જોયા છતાં તેના પર દયા કરતો નથી, તો તેનામાં ઈશ્વરનો પ્રેમ શી રીતે રહી શકે?
But whoever has the world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and closes his heart of compassion against him, how does the love of God remain in him?
Little children, let us not love in word only, neither with the tongue only, but in deed and truth.
19 ૧૯ આ રીતે આપણે જાણીશું કે આપણે સત્યનાં છીએ. જે કોઈ બાબતે આપણું અંતઃકરણ આપણને દોષિત ઠરાવે છે, તે વિષે તેમની આગળ આપણા અંતઃકરણને શાંત કરીશું,
And by this we will know that we are of the truth, and persuade our heart before him,
because if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.
Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God;
22 ૨૨ જે કંઈ આપણે માગીએ છીએ, તે તેમના તરફથી પામીએ છીએ, કેમ કે તેમની આજ્ઞા આપણે પાળીએ છીએ અને તેમને જે પ્રસન્ન થાય છે તે કરીએ છીએ.
and whatever we ask, we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.
23 ૨૩ તેમની આજ્ઞા એ છે કે તેમના પુત્ર ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તનાં નામ પર આપણે વિશ્વાસ કરીએ અને જેમ તેમણે આપણને આજ્ઞા આપી, તેમ એકબીજા પર પ્રેમ રાખીએ.
This is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, even as he commanded us.
24 ૨૪ જે તેમની આજ્ઞાઓ પાળે છે, તે તેમનાંમાં રહે છે અને તેઓ તેનામાં રહે છે. જે આત્મા તેમણે આપણને આપ્યો છે તેથી આપણે જાણીએ છીએ કે તેઓ આપણામાં રહે છે.
He who keeps his commandments remains in him, and he in him. By this we know that he remains in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.
