Judah's descendants were Perez, Hezron, Karmi, Hur, and Shobal.
2 ૨ શોબાલનો દીકરો રાયા, રાયાનો દીકરો યાહાથ, યાહાથના દીકરા આહુમાય અને લાહાદ. તેઓ સોરાથીઓનાં કુટુંબોના વંશજો હતા.
Shobal was the father of Reaiah. Reaiah was the father of Jahath. Jahath was the father of Ahumai and Lahad. These were of the clans of the Zorathites.
These were the ancestors of the clans in the city of Etam: Jezreel, Ishma, and Idbash. Their sister's name was Hazzelelponi.
4 ૪ પનુએલનો દીકરો ગદોર તથા એઝેરનો દીકરો હૂશા. તેઓ બેથલેહેમના પિતા એફ્રાથાના જયેષ્ઠ દીકરા હૂરના વંશજો હતા.
Peniel was the ancestor of the clans in the city of Gedor. Ezer was the originator of the clans in Hushah. These were descendants of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah and the originator of Bethlehem.
Ashhur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah and Naarah.
Naarah bore him Ahuzzam, Hepher, Temeni, and Haahashtari. These were Naarah's sons.
Helah's sons were Zereth, Zohar, Ethnan,
and Koz, who became the father of Anub and Hazzobebah, and of the clans descended from Aharhel son of Harum.
9 ૯ યાબેસ પોતાના ભાઈઓ કરતાં વધારે નામાંકિત હતો. તેની માતાએ તેનું નામ યાબેસ પાડ્યું. તેણે કહ્યું “કેમ કે તેના જન્મ વખતે મને ખૂબ પીડા થઈ હતી.”
Jabez was more respected than his brothers. His mother called him Jabez. She said, “Because I bore him in pain.”
10 ૧૦ યાબેસે ઇઝરાયલના ઈશ્વરને પ્રાર્થના કરી, “તમે મને નિશ્ચે આશીર્વાદ આપો અને મારો પ્રદેશ વધારો. તમારો હાથ મારી સાથે રાખો અને મને આપત્તિથી બચાવો કે જેથી મારે દુઃખ સહન કરવું પડે નહિ!” પ્રભુએ તેની પ્રાર્થના માન્ય કરી.
Jabez called out to the God of Israel and said, “If only you would truly bless me, expand my territory, and your hand will be with me. When you do this you will keep me from harm, so that I may be free from pain!” So God granted him his prayer.
Kelub brother of Shuhah became the father of Mehir, who was the father of Eshton.
Eshton became the father of Beth Rapha, Paseah, and Tehinnah, the father of Ir Nahash. These were men who lived in Rekah.
Kenaz's sons were Othniel and Seraiah. Othniel's sons were Hathath and Meonothai.
14 ૧૪ મોનોથાયનો દીકરો ઓફ્રા. ગે-હરાશીમનો પ્રણેતા સરાયાનો દીકરો યોઆબ અને યોઆબનો દીકરો ગે-હરાશીમ, જે લોકો કારીગર હતા.
Meonothai became the father of Ophrah, and Seraiah became the father of Joab, the originator of Ge-Harashim, whose people were craftsmen.
The sons of Caleb son of Jephunneh were Iru, Elah and Naam. Elah's son was Kenaz.
Jehallelel's sons were Ziph, Ziphah, Tiria, and Asarel.
17 ૧૭ એઝરાના દીકરાઓ; યેથેર, મેરેદ, એફેર તથા યાલોન. મેરેદની મિસરી પત્નીએ મરિયમ, શામ્માય તથા યિશ્બાને જન્મ આપ્યો અને યિશ્બાનો દીકરો એશ્તમોઆ.
Ezrah's sons were Jether, Mered, Epher, and Jalon. Mered's Egyptian wife bore Miriam, Shammai, and Ishbah, who became the father of Eshtemoa.
18 ૧૮ તેની યહૂદી પત્નીએ યારેદને જન્મ આપ્યો. યેરેદનો દીકરો ગદોર. હેબેરનો દીકરો સોખો તથા યકૂથીએલનો દીકરો ઝાનોઆ. તેઓ બિથ્યા નામની ફારુનની દીકરી જેની સાથે મેરેદે લગ્ન કર્યું હતું તેના દીકરાઓ હતા.
These were the sons of Bithiah, daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered married. Mered's Judahite wife bore Jered, who became the father of Gedor; Heber, who became the father of Soko; and Jekuthiel, who became the father of Zanoah.

21 ૨૧ યહૂદાના દીકરા શેલાના દીકરાઓ; લેખાનો પિતા એર, મારેશાનો પિતા લાદા તથા બેથ-આશ્બેઆના રહેવાસીઓ, એટલે જેઓ શણનાં ઝીણાં વસ્ત્ર વણનારા હતા, તેઓનાં કુટુંબો;
The descendants of Shelah son of Judah, were Er father of Lekah, Laadah father of Mareshah and the clans of the linen workers at Beth Ashbea,
22 ૨૨ યોકીમ, કોઝેબાના માણસો, યોઆશ તથા સારાફ, જેમની પાસે મોઆબમાં સંપત્તિ હતી પરંતુ બેથલેહેમમાં પાછા રહેવા ગયા. આ માહિતી પુરાતન લેખોને આધારે છે.

27 ૨૭ શિમઈને સોળ દીકરા તથા છ દીકરીઓ હતી. પરંતુ તેના ભાઈઓને ઘણાં સંતાન ન હોવાથી તેઓનું કુટુંબ યહૂદાના કુટુંબની માફક વૃદ્ધિ પામ્યું નહિ.
Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters. His brothers did not have many children, so their clans did not increase greatly in numbers as the people of Judah did.

31 ૩૧ બેથ-માર્કાબોથમાં, હસાર-સુસીમમાં, બેથ-બિરઈમાં તથા શારાઈમમાં પણ રહેતા હતા. દાઉદના શાસન સુધી આ નગરોમાં તેઓનો વસવાટ હતો.

33 ૩૩ તથા બઆલ સુધી તે જ નગરોની ચારે તરફના સર્વ ગામો પણ તેઓનાં હતાં. તેમા તેઓનાં વસવાટ હતા અને તેઓએ પોતાની વંશાવળીનો અહેવાલ રાખ્યો હતો.

38 ૩૮ આ બધા સરદારોનો પોતાના કુટુંબોના નામ પ્રમાણે ઉલ્લેખ કરવામાં આવ્યો હતો, તેઓનાં કુટુંબો બહુ વૃદ્ધિ પામ્યાં.
These mentioned by name were leaders in their clans, and their clans increased greatly.
They went near Gedor, on the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks.
40 ૪૦ ત્યાં તેઓને પુષ્કળ પ્રમાણમાં સારો ઘાસચારો મળ્યો. તે પ્રદેશ વિશાળ, શાંત તથા સુલેહશાંતિવાળો હતો. અગાઉ હામના વંશજો ત્યાં રહેતા હતા.
They found abundant and good pasture. The land was broad, quiet, and peaceable. The Hamites had formerly lived there.
41 ૪૧ આ નામવાર જણાવેલા આગેવાનો, યહૂદિયાના રાજા હિઝકિયાના સમયમાં તે પ્રદેશ પર ચઢાઈ કરીને અગાઉ હામના વંશજોનો વસવાટ હતો ત્યાં આવ્યા. મેઉનીમ ત્યાં જ મળી આવ્યા હતા. તેઓએ તેનો સંપૂર્ણપણે નાશ કર્યો અને ત્યાં રહ્યા કારણ કે તેઓને પોતાના જાનવરો માટે ત્યાં પુષ્કળ પ્રમાણમાં ઘાસચારો મળ્યો.
These just listed by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and attacked the Hamite settlements and the Meunites, who were there also. They destroyed them completely and lived there because they found pasture for their flocks.
42 ૪૨ તેઓમાંના શિમયોનના કુળમાંના પાંચસો પુરુષો સેઈર પર્વત તરફ, ઈશીના દીકરાઓ પલાટયા, નાર્યા, રફાયા અને ઉઝિયેલની આગેવાનીમાં ગયા.
From them, from the sons of Simeon, five hundred men went to Mount Seir with Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi, as their leader.
They defeated the rest of the Amalekite refugees, and have lived there to this day.
