Προς Κορινθιους Β΄ 6
1 Συνεργοῦντες δὲ καὶ, παρακαλοῦμεν μὴ εἰς κενὸν τὴν χάριν τοῦ ˚Θεοῦ δέξασθαι ὑμᾶς.
Working together, we entreat also that you not receive the grace of God in vain,
2 Λέγει γάρ, “Καιρῷ δεκτῷ ἐπήκουσά σου, καὶ ἐν ἡμέρᾳ σωτηρίας ἐβοήθησά σοι.” Ἰδοὺ, νῦν “καιρὸς εὐπρόσδεκτος”, ἰδοὺ, νῦν “ἡμέρα σωτηρίας”.
for he says, "At an acceptable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I helped you." Look, now is the "acceptable time." Look, now is the "day of salvation."
3 Μηδεμίαν ἐν μηδενὶ διδόντες προσκοπήν, ἵνα μὴ μωμηθῇ ἡ διακονία.
We give no occasion of stumbling in anything, that our service may not be blamed,
4 Ἀλλʼ ἐν παντὶ συνιστάντες ἑαυτοὺς ὡς ˚Θεοῦ διάκονοι: ἐν ὑπομονῇ πολλῇ, ἐν θλίψεσιν, ἐν ἀνάγκαις, ἐν στενοχωρίαις,
but in everything commending ourselves, as servants of God, in great endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in distresses,
5 ἐν πληγαῖς, ἐν φυλακαῖς, ἐν ἀκαταστασίαις, ἐν κόποις, ἐν ἀγρυπνίαις, ἐν νηστείαις,
in beatings, in imprisonments, in riots, in labors, in watchings, in fastings;
6 ἐν ἁγνότητι, ἐν γνώσει, ἐν μακροθυμίᾳ, ἐν χρηστότητι, ἐν ˚Πνεύματι Ἁγίῳ, ἐν ἀγάπῃ ἀνυποκρίτῳ,
in pureness, in knowledge, in patience, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in sincere love,
7 ἐν λόγῳ ἀληθείας, ἐν δυνάμει ˚Θεοῦ, διὰ τῶν ὅπλων τῆς δικαιοσύνης τῶν δεξιῶν καὶ ἀριστερῶν,
in the word of truth, in the power of God; by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,
8 διὰ δόξης καὶ ἀτιμίας, διὰ δυσφημίας καὶ εὐφημίας· ὡς πλάνοι καὶ ἀληθεῖς,
by glory and dishonor, by evil report and good report; as deceivers, and yet true;
9 ὡς ἀγνοούμενοι καὶ ἐπιγινωσκόμενοι, ὡς ἀποθνῄσκοντες καὶ ἰδοὺ, ζῶμεν, ὡς παιδευόμενοι καὶ μὴ θανατούμενοι,
as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and look, we live; as punished, and not killed;
10 ὡς λυπούμενοι ἀεὶ δὲ χαίροντες, ὡς πτωχοὶ πολλοὺς δὲ πλουτίζοντες, ὡς μηδὲν ἔχοντες καὶ πάντα κατέχοντες.
as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.
11 Τὸ στόμα ἡμῶν ἀνέῳγεν πρὸς ὑμᾶς, Κορίνθιοι, ἡ καρδία ἡμῶν πεπλάτυνται.
Our mouth is open to you, Corinthians. Our heart is enlarged.
12 Οὐ στενοχωρεῖσθε ἐν ἡμῖν, στενοχωρεῖσθε δὲ ἐν τοῖς σπλάγχνοις ὑμῶν.
You are not restricted by us, but you are restricted by your own affections.
13 Τὴν δὲ αὐτὴν ἀντιμισθίαν (ὡς τέκνοις λέγω) πλατύνθητε καὶ ὑμεῖς.
Now in return, I speak as to my children, you also be open wide.
14 Μὴ γίνεσθε ἑτεροζυγοῦντες ἀπίστοις· τίς γὰρ μετοχὴ δικαιοσύνῃ καὶ ἀνομίᾳ, ἢ τίς κοινωνία φωτὶ πρὸς σκότος;
Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?
15 Τίς δὲ συμφώνησις ˚Χριστοῦ πρὸς Βελιάρ, ἢ τίς μερὶς πιστῷ μετὰ ἀπίστου;
What agreement has Christ with Belial? Or what portion has a believer with an unbeliever?
16 Τίς δὲ συγκατάθεσις ναῷ ˚Θεοῦ μετὰ εἰδώλων; ἡμεῖς γὰρ ναὸς ˚Θεοῦ ἐσμεν ζῶντος, καθὼς εἶπεν ὁ ˚Θεὸς, ὅτι “Ἐνοικήσω ἐν αὐτοῖς”, καὶ “ἐμπεριπατήσω, καὶ ἔσομαι αὐτῶν ˚Θεός, καὶ αὐτοὶ ἔσονταί μου λαός.”
What agreement has a temple of God with idols? For we are a temple of the living God. Even as God said, "I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they will be my people."
17 “Διὸ ἐξέλθατε ἐκ μέσου αὐτῶν καὶ ἀφορίσθητε”, λέγει ˚Κύριος, “καὶ ἀκαθάρτου μὴ ἅπτεσθε”· “Κἀγὼ εἰσδέξομαι ὑμᾶς”.
Therefore, "'Go out from their midst, and be separate,' says the Lord, 'and touch no unclean thing,' and I will receive you.
18 “Καὶ ἔσομαι ὑμῖν εἰς πατέρα, καὶ ὑμεῖς ἔσεσθέ μοι εἰς υἱοὺς καὶ θυγατέρας”, λέγει ˚Κύριος Παντοκράτωρ.
"And I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters," says the Lord Almighty.
