Κατα Μαρκον 5
1 Καὶ ἦλθον εἰς τὸ πέραν τῆς θαλάσσης εἰς τὴν χώραν τῶν (Γερασηνῶν. *N(K)O*)
And they came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the Gadarenes.
2 Καὶ (ἐξελθόντος αὐτοῦ *N(k)O*) ἐκ τοῦ πλοίου εὐθὺς (ὑπήντησεν *N(k)O*) αὐτῷ ἐκ τῶν μνημείων ἄνθρωπος ἐν πνεύματι ἀκαθάρτῳ
And immediately on his going out of the ship there met him out of the tombs a man possessed by an unclean spirit,
3 ὃς τὴν κατοίκησιν εἶχεν ἐν τοῖς (μνήμασιν. *N(k)O*) καὶ (οὐδὲ *N(k)O*) (ἁλύσει *N(K)O*) (οὐκέτι οὐκέτι *NO*) οὐδεὶς ἐδύνατο αὐτὸν δῆσαι
who had his dwelling in the tombs; and no one was able to bind him, not even with chains;
4 διὰ τὸ αὐτὸν πολλάκις πέδαις καὶ ἁλύσεσιν δεδέσθαι καὶ διεσπάσθαι ὑπ᾽ αὐτοῦ τὰς ἁλύσεις καὶ τὰς πέδας συντετρῖφθαι, καὶ οὐδεὶς ἴσχυεν αὐτὸν δαμάσαι.
because he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been torn asunder by him, and the fetters were shattered; and no one was able to subdue him.
5 καὶ (διὰ *N(K)O*) (παντὸς *N(k)O*) νυκτὸς καὶ ἡμέρας ἐν τοῖς μνήμασιν καὶ ἐν τοῖς ὄρεσιν ἦν κράζων καὶ κατακόπτων ἑαυτὸν λίθοις.
And continually night and day, in the tombs and in the mountains, he was crying and cutting himself with stones.
6 (Καὶ *no*) ἰδὼν (δὲ *k*) τὸν Ἰησοῦν ἀπὸ μακρόθεν ἔδραμεν καὶ προσεκύνησεν (αὐτῷ *NK(o)*)
But seeing Jesus from afar off, he ran and did him homage,
7 καὶ κράξας φωνῇ μεγάλῃ (λέγει· *N(k)O*) τί ἐμοὶ καὶ σοί, Ἰησοῦ, υἱὲ τοῦ θεοῦ τοῦ ὑψίστου; ὁρκίζω σε τὸν θεόν, μή με βασανίσῃς.
and crying with a loud voice he says, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I adjure thee by God, torment me not.
8 ἔλεγεν γὰρ αὐτῷ· ἔξελθε τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἀκάθαρτον ἐκ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου.
For he said to him, Come forth, unclean spirit, out of the man.
9 Καὶ ἐπηρώτα αὐτόν· τί ὄνομά σοι; καὶ (ἀπεκρίθη *k*) (λέγει *N(k)O*) (αὐτῷ· *no*) (λεγιὼν *N(k)O*) ὄνομά μοι ὅτι πολλοί ἐσμεν.
And he asked him, What is thy name? And he says to him, Legion is my name, because we are many.
10 καὶ παρεκάλει αὐτὸν πολλὰ ἵνα μὴ (αὐτὰ *N(k)O*) ἀποστείλῃ ἔξω τῆς χώρας.
And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.
11 ἦν δὲ ἐκεῖ πρὸς (τῷ *N(k)O*) (ὄρει *N(K)O*) ἀγέλη χοίρων μεγάλη βοσκομένη·
Now there was there just at the mountain a great herd of swine feeding;
12 καὶ παρεκάλεσαν αὐτὸν (πάντες οἱ δαίμονες *K*) λέγοντες· πέμψον ἡμᾶς εἰς τοὺς χοίρους ἵνα εἰς αὐτοὺς εἰσέλθωμεν.
and they besought him, saying, Send us into the swine that we may enter into them.
13 καὶ ἐπέτρεψεν αὐτοῖς (εὐθέως *K*) (ὁ Ἰησοῦς. *k*) καὶ ἐξελθόντα τὰ πνεύματα τὰ ἀκάθαρτα εἰσῆλθον εἰς τοὺς χοίρους, καὶ ὥρμησεν ἡ ἀγέλη κατὰ τοῦ κρημνοῦ εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν (ἦσαν δὲ *k*) ὡς δισχίλιοι καὶ ἐπνίγοντο ἐν τῇ θαλάσσῃ.
And Jesus [immediately] allowed them. And the unclean spirits going out entered into the swine, and the herd rushed down the steep slope, into the sea (about two thousand), and were choked in the sea.
14 (καὶ *no*) οἱ (δὲ *k*) βόσκοντες (αὐτοὺς *N(k)O*) (χοίρους *k*) ἔφυγον καὶ (ἀπήγγειλαν *N(k)O*) εἰς τὴν πόλιν καὶ εἰς τοὺς ἀγρούς. καὶ (ἦλθον *N(k)O*) ἰδεῖν τί ἐστιν τὸ γεγονός.
And those that were feeding them fled and reported it in the city and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that had taken place.
15 Καὶ ἔρχονται πρὸς τὸν Ἰησοῦν καὶ θεωροῦσιν τὸν δαιμονιζόμενον καθήμενον (καὶ *k*) ἱματισμένον καὶ σωφρονοῦντα, τὸν ἐσχηκότα τὸν (λεγιῶνα, *N(k)O*) καὶ ἐφοβήθησαν.
And they come to Jesus, and they see the possessed of demons sitting [and] clothed and sensible, [him] that had had the legion: and they were afraid.
16 καὶ διηγήσαντο (δὲ *o*) αὐτοῖς οἱ ἰδόντες πῶς ἐγένετο τῷ δαιμονιζομένῳ καὶ περὶ τῶν χοίρων.
And they that had seen [it] related to them how it had happened to the [man] possessed by demons, and concerning the swine.
17 καὶ ἤρξαντο παρακαλεῖν αὐτὸν ἀπελθεῖν ἀπὸ τῶν ὁρίων αὐτῶν.
And they began to beg him to depart from their coasts.
18 Καὶ (ἐμβαίνοντος *N(k)O*) αὐτοῦ εἰς τὸ πλοῖον παρεκάλει αὐτὸν ὁ δαιμονισθεὶς ἵνα μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ ᾖ.
And as he went on board ship, the man that had been possessed by demons besought him that he might be with him.
19 (καὶ *no*) (ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς *k*) οὐκ ἀφῆκεν αὐτόν, ἀλλὰ λέγει αὐτῷ· ὕπαγε εἰς τὸν οἶκόν σου πρὸς τοὺς σοὺς καὶ (ἀπάγγειλον *N(k)O*) αὐτοῖς ὅσα ὁ κύριός σοι (πεποίηκεν *N(k)O*) καὶ ἠλέησέν σε.
And he suffered him not, but says to him, Go to thine home to thine own people, and tell them how great things the Lord has done for thee, and has had mercy on thee.
20 Καὶ ἀπῆλθεν καὶ ἤρξατο κηρύσσειν ἐν τῇ Δεκαπόλει ὅσα ἐποίησεν αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς· καὶ πάντες ἐθαύμαζον.
And he went away and began to proclaim in the Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him; and all wondered.
21 Καὶ διαπεράσαντος τοῦ Ἰησοῦ ἐν τῷ πλοίῳ πάλιν εἰς τὸ πέραν συνήχθη ὄχλος πολὺς ἐπ᾽ αὐτόν, καὶ ἦν παρὰ τὴν θάλασσαν.
And Jesus having passed over in the ship again to the other side, a great crowd gathered to him; and he was by the sea.
22 Καὶ (ἰδού *k*) ἔρχεται εἷς τῶν ἀρχισυναγώγων, ὀνόματι Ἰάϊρος· καὶ ἰδὼν αὐτὸν πίπτει πρὸς τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ
And [behold] there comes one of the rulers of the synagogue, by name Jairus, and seeing him, falls down at his feet;
23 καὶ (παρακαλεῖ *N(k)O*) αὐτὸν πολλὰ λέγων ὅτι τὸ θυγάτριόν μου ἐσχάτως ἔχει, ἵνα ἐλθὼν ἐπιθῇς τὰς χεῖρας αὐτῇ (ἵνα *N(k)O*) σωθῇ καὶ (ζήσῃ. *N(k)O*)
and he besought him much, saying, My little daughter is at extremity; [I pray] that thou shouldest come and lay thy hands upon her so that she may be healed, and may live.
24 Καὶ ἀπῆλθεν μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἠκολούθει αὐτῷ ὄχλος πολὺς καὶ συνέθλιβον αὐτόν.
And he went with him, and a large crowd followed him and pressed on him.
25 Καὶ γυνὴ (τις *k*) οὖσα ἐν ῥύσει αἵματος δώδεκα ἔτη
And a certain woman who had had a flux of blood twelve years,
26 καὶ πολλὰ παθοῦσα ὑπὸ πολλῶν ἰατρῶν καὶ δαπανήσασα τὰ παρ᾽ (αὐτῆς *N(k)O*) πάντα καὶ μηδὲν ὠφεληθεῖσα ἀλλὰ μᾶλλον εἰς τὸ χεῖρον ἐλθοῦσα,
and had suffered much under many physicians, and had spent everything she had and had found no advantage from it, but had rather got worse,
27 ἀκούσασα (τὰ *o*) περὶ τοῦ Ἰησοῦ, ἐλθοῦσα ἐν τῷ ὄχλῳ ὄπισθεν ἥψατο τοῦ ἱματίου αὐτοῦ·
having heard concerning Jesus, came in the crowd behind and touched his clothes;
28 ἔλεγεν γὰρ ὅτι ἐὰν ἅψωμαι κἂν κἂν τῶν ἱματίων αὐτοῦ σωθήσομαι.
for she said, If I shall touch but his clothes I shall be healed.
29 Καὶ εὐθὺς ἐξηράνθη ἡ πηγὴ τοῦ αἵματος αὐτῆς καὶ ἔγνω τῷ σώματι ὅτι ἴαται ἀπὸ τῆς μάστιγος.
And immediately her fountain of blood was dried up, and she knew in her body that she was cured from the scourge.
30 Καὶ εὐθὺς ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἐπιγνοὺς ἐν ἑαυτῷ τὴν ἐξ αὐτοῦ δύναμιν ἐξελθοῦσαν, ἐπιστραφεὶς ἐν τῷ ὄχλῳ ἔλεγεν· τίς μου ἥψατο τῶν ἱματίων;
And immediately Jesus, knowing in himself the power that had gone out of him, turning round in the crowd said, Who has touched my clothes?
31 Καὶ ἔλεγον αὐτῷ οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ· βλέπεις τὸν ὄχλον συνθλίβοντά σε καὶ λέγεις· τίς μου ἥψατο;
And his disciples said to him, Thou seest the crowd pressing on thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
32 καὶ περιεβλέπετο ἰδεῖν τὴν τοῦτο ποιήσασαν.
And he looked round about to see her who had done this.
33 Ἡ δὲ γυνὴ φοβηθεῖσα καὶ τρέμουσα, εἰδυῖα ὃ γέγονεν (ἐπ᾽ *k*) αὐτῇ, ἦλθεν καὶ προσέπεσεν αὐτῷ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ πᾶσαν τὴν ἀλήθειαν.
But the woman, frightened and trembling, knowing what had taken place in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
34 Ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτῇ· (θυγάτηρ, *N(k)O*) ἡ πίστις σου σέσωκέν σε. ὕπαγε εἰς εἰρήνην καὶ ἴσθι ὑγιὴς ἀπὸ τῆς μάστιγός σου.
And he said to her, Daughter, thy faith has healed thee; go in peace, and be well of thy scourge.
35 ἔτι αὐτοῦ λαλοῦντος ἔρχονται ἀπὸ τοῦ ἀρχισυναγώγου λέγοντες ὅτι ἡ θυγάτηρ σου ἀπέθανεν· τί ἔτι σκύλλεις τὸν διδάσκαλον;
While he was yet speaking, they come from the ruler of the synagogue's [house], saying, Thy daughter has died, why troublest thou the teacher any further?
36 Ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς (εὐθέως *K*) (παρακούσας *N(K)O*) τὸν λόγον λαλούμενον λέγει τῷ ἀρχισυναγώγῳ· μὴ φοβοῦ, μόνον πίστευε.
But Jesus [immediately], having heard the word spoken, says to the ruler of the synagogue, Fear not; only believe.
37 καὶ οὐκ ἀφῆκεν οὐδένα (μετ᾽ *no*) (αὐτοῦ *N(k)O*) συνακολουθῆσαι εἰ μὴ (τὸν *no*) Πέτρον καὶ Ἰάκωβον καὶ Ἰωάννην τὸν ἀδελφὸν Ἰακώβου.
And he suffered no one to accompany him save Peter and James, and John the brother of James.
38 Καὶ (ἔρχονται *N(K)O*) εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ ἀρχισυναγώγου. καὶ θεωρεῖ θόρυβον (καὶ *no*) κλαίοντας καὶ ἀλαλάζοντας πολλά,
And he comes to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and sees the tumult, and people weeping and wailing greatly.
39 καὶ εἰσελθὼν λέγει αὐτοῖς· τί θορυβεῖσθε καὶ κλαίετε; τὸ παιδίον οὐκ ἀπέθανεν ἀλλὰ καθεύδει.
And entering in he says to them, Why do ye make a tumult and weep? the child has not died, but sleeps.
40 καὶ κατεγέλων αὐτοῦ. (Αὐτὸς *N(k)O*) δὲ ἐκβαλὼν (πάντας *N(k)O*) παραλαμβάνει τὸν πατέρα τοῦ παιδίου καὶ τὴν μητέρα καὶ τοὺς μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ καὶ εἰσπορεύεται ὅπου ἦν τὸ παιδίον (ἀνακείμενον. *K*)
And they derided him. But he, having put [them] all out, takes with [him] the father of the child, and the mother, and those that were with him, and enters in where the child was lying.
41 καὶ κρατήσας τῆς χειρὸς τοῦ παιδίου λέγει αὐτῇ· ταλιθα κουμ, ὅ ἐστιν μεθερμηνευόμενον, τὸ κοράσιον, σοὶ λέγω, (ἔγειρε. *N(k)O*)
And having laid hold of the hand of the child, he says to her, Talitha koumi, which is, interpreted, Damsel, I say to thee, Arise.
42 καὶ εὐθὺς ἀνέστη τὸ κοράσιον καὶ περιεπάτει· ἦν γὰρ ἐτῶν δώδεκα. καὶ ἐξέστησαν (εὐθὺς *NO*) ἐκστάσει μεγάλῃ.
And immediately the damsel arose and walked, for she was twelve years old. And they were astonished with great astonishment.
43 καὶ διεστείλατο αὐτοῖς πολλὰ ἵνα μηδεὶς γνοῖ τοῦτο, καὶ εἶπεν δοθῆναι αὐτῇ φαγεῖν.
And he charged them much that no one should know this; and he desired that [something] should be given her to eat.
